Such funny scenes of anger management at the start of every episode of Saxondale starring Steve Coogan as Tommy Saxondale - บันเทิง
Tommy Saxondale is such a criminally underrated character. Steve Coogan is just a comedic master and he makes every character he performs unique and hilarious.
Agreed. Partridge is brilliant but flogged to death. Saxondale is socially deep.
I wonder why (sometimes) Saxondale never got more credit, it's his best character by far, in my opinion
Keanau was better. But Sax is an enigma. He does awkward but it doesn't quite succeed as well because Sax is empathetic so he ends up backing down or being somewhat sensible.
Whereas Partridge just ploughs on regardless, which is much funnier.
Sax is a legend. It's something about how literal he is as a blue collar pestman. I would dare to say Sax is more academic and has higher IQ than Alan too. Alan is good too more in a Office Michael unawareness type of way.
Steve Coogan and James Bachman are outstanding in these scenes. Very underrated series.
Coogan is a genius.
So are The Netherlands main band, A-Ha.
He has been supported by really good comedy writers though. He's the face of their work.
@@The670533 A-Ha are from Norway.
This character is so criminally underrated. Many have never heard nor seen Saxondale ( at least in North America)
and in my opinion it's one of his best.
Hey, wasn't Morwenna Banks, who plays the woman who always winds up Saxondale, on Saturday Night Live for a bit, years ago?
@@j-boogiebrown9961
She is gorgeous and used to appear on absolutely
Johnnywhamo it was on Netflix for 10 seconds.
@Default Name .....Canada here, No way, funny | got it on CD from the library as well, I too just happened across it. :)
"50 pence piece, or whatever he calls himself" ......... brilliant!
to sit down at a round table with some senior squirrels ........!!!!!!!! cracked me up
Saxondale should give a Christmas Speech every year...
"'ere comes twitch" brilliant!
I love the fact it seems he’s always got something repeating on him 😂
I think that's more of a smug face thing. I've met men who do that.
"It was between me and a crack squirrel, I would take it down. I would take it down to Chinatown"
😂😂

“A.. heard it.. ahhh heard it...”
“They’re all like Tupac Shakorrr or fifty pence piece orworworor or whatever he calls himself”
Saxondale. Coogan's greatest creation.
Coogan thought Saxondale was a richer comic creation. For my money, the best thing he ever did. He is a genius.
Here comes twitch!!! Sir coogan you utter legend
The way he moves his head and looks at Tim with his scout master haha...
Brilliant writing and even better comedic acting!
Can I shock you.........?.......... - sometimes there are parts of Saxondale which I think are actually better than Partridge.......
8563robbie agreed
Agreed
Absolutely, a great character and cast
Not shocking at all.
Coz its less mainstream bro
“50 pence piece or whatever he calls himself” 😂
Coogan is a genius, this is by far one of his best characters. 2nd after Partridge but very close.
Hey.hey hey...what about Tony Ferrino.
"in fact i'll give you such a 'Uckin good Hiding...that you'll end up with a twitch'....hahahaha
8 years later im still coming back for more
The way he says ‘ucking good hiding ‘ is just perfect. I love it when people do that- as if to make it somehow less offensive... such a brilliant observation. 👌🏼
The flatulence simile 🤣🤣🤣
He's captured a certain type of english man perfectly. Sport cars, 70s rock, Clarkson esque, acts anti establishment, but probably quite conservative, hates dance music, smug look on his face, lots of demin. Perfect.
Should be as legendary as Partridge.
'Now ya yokes have gone hard'
Lmfao I just love the way he says "drive it through this ucking library" hahah and ofcourse the "twitch" discussion and the way he says "aaand he'd understaaaand"
Steve Coogan is just brilliant. He has the Midas touch and ever since I saw his Paul Calf on The Last Resort he had me hooked.
Midas Touch? What about Tony Ferrino?
Yes midas touch in deed. His timing & acting changing accent are superb. I do hope it comes back. Steve is a genius at what he does. I applaud him and this wonderful piece of acting, funny, sad and just makes sense
I wish he'd do another run of this series!
James Bachman is a great foil for Steve in these scenes.
I'm a big fan of Lee mack, Peter kay Ricky Gervais but Steve Coogan still tops the list for me always has. Absolute genius.
Bring back Saxondale!
The last one was genius
Never met a real life Partridge but met plenty like Saxondale. Coogan's most underrated comedy character!
How can I have never seen this before? I love Steve coogan he’s so talented and funny
I need to watch this
It’s within your remit to exercise some discretion when it comes to the application of fixed penalty notices 🤣
I saw them as a cry for help...🤣
Bit of Saxondale in all of us ..his best character for me..these initial scenes are genius.
Did they even make a third season? LOVE this crazy little series! Fricking funny as hell.
O.G. BigHosMan Have you watched Jam or Brass Eye or on the Hour? Absolute brilliance. 😂
' fifty pence peice..😂
“Don’t look at me like that… you told us.” 😂😂😂
I am proudly from STAFFORD and Steve nails a Stafford impression 100%.
It's an East Midlands accent. I think he's meant to be from Nottingham.
It’s a Nottingham accent. Saxondale roundabout is where the A52 meets the A46.
Come on give us a season 3... before I get angry
Yes, give him a new series you shit!
Was a great characterisation and series ; very underrated indeed.
If its between me and a crack squirrel, Im taking that squirrel down to Chinatown." LOL
Is this the funniest man on the planet.
I love the track they keep hinting at. "House of The King" by Focus.
50 pence piece....fantastic!
"Yeah...I saw them as a cry for help" ...
Just so funny. Great acting.
The licking the lips and big sighs are underrated
Criminal that there were only 2 series... The last scene, with 'Twitch', is especially good.
'story time for toddlers' lol
I saw them as a cry for help
I love how, "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," is always in the background.
“If its a choice between me and a crack squirrel I will take it down, I will take it down to Chinatown”
well underrated !
His second greatest character
We need about 5 more seasons.
Comedy GENIUS
Like so many of my cases. Beautifully observed.
Loved saxondale so funny
Very good 💯
Brilliant.
Oh lord… saxondale is my dear old sainted dad!! I’m rather worried because I think I could very well turn into him🤣
SO damn funnny.....this character makes lose it.....thanx......
2:01 haha shut it!!!
The Hungary caterpillar! Insane
The Very Hungry Caterpillar - it's a young kids' picture book, and they're in a library
Here comes twitch!
How can you put ads on something you don't own?
Corporations put adverts on billions of TV sets but they dont own the TV's

First time I've seen this. Wonderful. Funny but painful. We've all met a Tommy... tells it like it is!! Just a g*******e
Next to Martin Brennan his finest creation. Chortle
what-a-video
So funny 🤣
I emphasise and sympathise with Tommy.
oh my god the East Midlands accent
Back to re-hab (hard time at the Let Community 97-98).
Sorry, what?
Wtf! How have I not seen this stuff before? What's this series called?
I will take that squirrel down to Chinatown
Yep
It makes me angry that this show was so under-rated.
But the thing with it being underrated is it hasn’t been quoted to death like Partridge... I kind of like the fact that it’s such a great show but didn’t receive the recognition it deserves
@@mattgarbutt254 never thought about it like that. You are totally correct.
here is the antidote to the current scourge of wokeism. bring this back, please mr coogan.
Better than partridge
Why is his hair so different?
To look like a different character. If you mean how did they get it to look so different to his natural hair, then I would guess it is a wig or hair dye plus hairspray.
I would take that squirrel down !
I would take that squirrel down to China town !
Saxondale is Coogan's finest for me, a bit more rich, nuanced, real than Partridge. Pretty much every Saxondale scene I can watch and re-watch, just savouring the marvellously performed detail. Coogan's a treasure- our best long-form comic actor since (and maybe including) Sellers. Harry and Paul the best UK short-form comic actors in recent decades?...
Crack squirrels 🐿🤣
Yes, I'm bored :D :D
almeohst a perfect Nottingum accent
Has there ever been any other TV shows set in Nottingham, besides Robin Hood of course?
Freedly Beedly Boop I’m from notts LOL 😝
Why does he attend anger management, is it a court order?
I think this character is well underated but I think people, including me, can’t help thinking what a prick he is, in real life.
Interesting, on this side of the pond a guy, I believe in the early 1990s, shot up a McDonalds. When asked why he merely said,"I was given very bad service."Sometimes that's all it takes to break the camels' backs. I remember when the McDonalds sign actually counted in numbers of millions(since conception of course). I eat there once in a great while, bring back the McFeast!!!!
Ironically, the “I’ve dropped my guts” bit literally has me laughing so hard I also uncontrollably fart
Iddy!
crack squirrels
How the hell does this have so many down votes?
Anger management issues?
This guy's good, but he's no Partridge!
It's basically Partridge with a beard. I can't see him as anyone else other than Partridge.
He's not as funny as Partridge because he's more controlled whereas Partridge was totally self unaware.
its better than partridge and so are the other characters more believable
I really don't see him as Partridge here at all, it's a very distinct character from Partridge. In fact you highlight one of the key differences Scrapper, which is Saxondale's self awareness.
@@danyoutube7491 Yes, Sax is a much more empathetic character. Partridge has the ultimate ego, he only cares about himself. But what I meant to say is Coogan is typecast in my mind in the straight (ish) roles. I only see him as Partridge.
When he played Keanau, that was brilliant, I didn't even know it was Coogan. It demonstrates his real range.
@@PreservationEnthusiast Ah, I see.
The reason it’s not as good as Partridge is because all the scenes and funny bits are set up and are all leading to a Saxondale joke/ humour. Where as with Partridge it seems to just happen, it’s more real.
He looks terrible with false beard and wig
I think he's great but he hits to hard on normal people, attacking our culture can be detrimental
Coogan is a genius.
