10 to 1 this is how the B-21 raider is coming in under budget. Take 2 f-35 engines and maximize them for endurance, then adapt all the off the shelf block 4 upgrades for a larger flying V configuration. Just scale up the EW suite and radar and you have one hell of a bomber that can reach out.
Temporary air dominance, means they.can't keep assets in the area You don't need permanent dominance, just when you need to be in that area. As long as you dominate when you show up.
Too bad the Prat & Whitney dual mode engine is not in the cards for the Block 4 upgrade. That would have increased rang a lot, something sorely needed by F-35 A and C versions. Will the US depend on the B-2 and B-21 bombers to deliver themisslesto knock out Chinese radars and SS missiles?
I mean why the f35 will no longer be a 5th gen fighter Like an upgrade to an aircraft wouldn't change the classification If someone have the answer pls tell me
You mean after DEAD is done and the F22 is around for air dominance well with F35/F22 team being well trained and oiled! Then with the NGAD following on.
I was concerned because there were a lot of discrepancies when they came to the upgrades that fell out of sequence the you know it's it's going to be modular then we should be able to plug them in according to the standards and what they said they were going to do and I see where they made mistakes so I don't blame them for him I have to have a continued upgrade capability without changing the airframe and we must protect the airframe and the external parts from the high temperatures that they're going to be dealing with and you know what I'm proud of the Army Navy and Air Force and Marissa and all this development programs I mean Howard Hughes would be he's not he's happy with you all😊
This has several key false facts. This plane is dominant in the air to ground role, it is very competitive in the air to air role and it’s range is better than almost every current jet.
Too expensive, immature technology and companies usually over promise capability to get lucrative contracts!!!! The GE A-100 will come but after sufficient airframes have been acquired. Too early & still too risky !

The war rhetoric has changed if you look at Ukrainian war and Israelian war. It's no longer who possesses the most advanced and expensive weapons wins the conflict. The Pentagon still hasn't figure this out.
No. If Ukraine had the US’ air superiority capabilities, Russia would already have lost. Don’t assume all lessons apply equally to all countries and/or conflicts.
it's funny how Americans exaggerate its capabilities to get more buyers, for this absurdly expensive and problematic, yet NOT a real 5th gen, fighter jet (the US "changed" the concept and definitions of what is a 5th gen jet, to fit this crap in the category and charge even more for it. In the former list of characteristics of a 5th gen jet, the F-35 wouldn't check half of the items)
Okay...sounds like a very good upgrade. Still...can anybody out there tell me just HOW the F-35 is supposedly supposed to take over the close air support of the A-10?
It fly's the mission differently, from medium altitude, above the range of small arms and small anti aircraft guns. It's sensors are LIGHT YEARS better than the A-10 and it will see the battlespace in ways the A-10can only dream of. Also close air support missions will only be performed once enemy air defense networks have been eliminated so the F-35 will be operating in "Beast Mode" meaning external racks for weapons. In Beast mode the F-35 can carry 6,000 pounds more ordinance. I know it doesn't have the gun that makes the A-10 famous but the GAU-8 is a spray and pray weapon and is very overrated.
I think the idea is that future wars of significance will be against China or Russia, and you can see even in Ukraine that once Russia got their act together and deployed their EW and SAMs, they built a no-fly zone around areas they wanted to. Only low-altitude drones and helicopters can get in, but then are exposed to shoulder fired missles and such. An A-10 would get picked off very easily, so stealth is needed, at the expense of the speed of destruction. E.g., 50 F35 sorties, vs 10 A10 sorties etc etc. At least I think so? Not a military guy
I hope you all understand the F35 was a Russian throwaway design from decades back. Lockheed Martin were unable to design one of their own so they went to the waste basket and bought this. It will go down the same path as the failed F111. Sad thing is your commentator reads from the sales brochure. Time will prove this correct just keep the tissue box handy.
Actually that Russian plane was great but the Carrier cannot even leave port with it's own engines. Shame the vodka fleet is being sunk by a country with not a single ship.
Well it is a good thing that the F-35 is a DEADLY close in Dog Fighter. With an actual combat load it can easily out maneuver the F-16 and F-18. With its advanced flight control dynamics it can do a lot of high alpha stuff that the F-16 and 18 can not match.
Also the NVA airforce did not kick our ass. People say the Phantom sucked at ACM yet the NVA was terrified by it and would almost never offer it battle. When they did try and ambush Phantoms their pilots would execute a extreme high speed pass while firing their missiles and immediately leaving the area at full afterburner. When North Vietnamese pilots for into dogfights with their Mig-21's against Phantoms they generally got mauled.
There were certainly big problems with how the USAF and USN went about air-to-air combat but your description is BS in important ways. Yes, air-to-air missiles were oversold. Yes, their actual performance was disappointing. But the best that the NVAAF could manage was about 1-to-1 kill ratios -- for a short period at the peak of their success, with the serious advantages of ground control radar, being on the defense and having plenty of fuel. The overall kill ratios were more like 2:1 or 3:1 in favor of the US. But air-to-air missiles have been getting better and better for the past 60 years while aircraft aren't much more maneuverable. Recent air combat does not often look like the (often) turning-and-burning knife fights of Vietnam.
Very nice, it's a shame that Austin couldn't defend the 100 million junk, which fails to accomplish 29% of missions, I think that on aircraft carriers it is less than 15%, software and engine problems continue, the day they put it into service, It will be the most detectable of the aircraft. This may be Lockheed Martin's biggest scam, a design copied from the Russians
@@Orbital_Inclination What part, even Congress considers it the biggest scam in history: They told Lloyd Austin all that to his face, it is a failure, to Congress that it only fulfills 29% of the missions, it costs more and more to maintain them and their usefulness decreases, it is a paper weight, and blah...blah...blah

Electrical power and heat will be the main issue with this Block, once the new CPU is debugged.
Can I ask for the seller's link? I want to buy 1. I am from the land of Wakanda. regards🙏
F35 block 4 is a long range ai sniper
F35s just broke its speed record probably 1.8 with its new flight envolope and updates.
No block 4 upgrade can happen until the software refresh happens which has been delayed for over a year.

Well said and accurate.

Too bad GE lost out on the better engine.
Yea but they will put it in the ingad fighter
Wouldn't have worked on the B model anyway. Plus, they would've had to derate it to keep the speed down for the stealth coating.
The P&W XA101 is no slouch either, but it's a bit behind the GE XA100 in development.
