@JonasLovato91 that's a neat fact. But polynesian isnt specifically Hawaiian. As a hawaiian I can say that many polynesians dont like to be grouped together. Especially hawaiian, samoan, tongan and Maori. We take pride in our separate races. Yes we come together in times but generally take pride in our specific races. :) I dont speak for all, but here in Hawaii that's how it is in most places In the state
I think you missed the whole point about why I said polynesian isnt specifically Hawaiian and why I was thanking him for learning to pronounce the words correctly. He identifies as polynesian meaning he could have learned any of the different polynesian languages. The fact that he took time to learn hawaiian vocab/ grammar (regardless of growing up singing hawaiiam songs or not) he still knows how to properly pronounce it. You can be polynesian and live in the mainland your entire life and not know how to speak that native language. Sooo? Thank you for your informative fact in the earlier comment.
