Your point about the lies we tell ourselves vs the truth of who we are in Jesus' eyes just brought me to tears. Such an important statement to take to heart for any relationship. Your videos are such a blessing, and I would love more of the ones like this, where you just share how you care for yourself mentally, physically, spiritually. And PS--I think you give excellent tips for any marriage, not just marriage to a pilot.
Having been married to a guy in the Air Force (active duty & reserves for 34 years), your tips & thoughts were spot on! Thanks for your comments & advice. Bless you!!
Engaged to a pilot of my own. He's still in the beginning of his career, and this video was so informative! I've had to learn pretty quickly in the last few weeks how to just be okay by myself. Makes the moments we get to spend together even more special
Yes, one wife described it as a honeymoon every time he got back lol. It's a nice break and then it's really great being back together...unless he's gone over a major holiday. Thanks for watching! Best wishes!
Just found this video. I am married to a pilot . 20 years in the military, 20 years corporate pilot. I can relate to all of your comments. Know yourself! We are now retired 21 years, purchased our own plane and we fly together all over the the USA,Canada and the Bahamas. I finally became a pilot when I was 65. It’s has been a wonderful life (forgive the pun). Your videos are fantastic.
Great advice for all marriages. Sounds like my life as a pastors wife except he was never off. 🥰. 45 years in May. You can be a great marriage counselor.
I was a lineman’s wife for 45 years until his retirement. He, too, worked long hours and was gone several days at a time. You are right on when you say that we need to love our husbands like Jesus loves us. There’s no better way to build a strong marriage. Thank you for your insight and putting it down for all of us to hear.
Lots of wonderful tips, Laurie. I’m not married to a pilot, but I am married to a man who has traveled at least 50% of the time for the last 30 years. And sometimes it’s been more like 75 to 100% of the time. It is challenging, and yet keeping the lines of communication open and realizing that you both have to give 100%, none of this 50-50 thinking. We celebrate our 30th anniversary on June 2.
Hi Laurie! My husband is a ship captain, travelling around 7 to 9 months at a time and when we were younger even 11 months!! I totally respect what you are saying!
Definitely close sounding to being a military wife....including the stand-by tickets (only add cargo planes might be your plane). When they come home, some military guys want to sleep all week, some want to go out, others want parties, and others want to push everything off the table and "get busy." Travel insurance is a must, especially for active duty. I lost count how many times I have had to file a cancellation claim because he got a phone call. Honestly the best people for these types of marriages are introverts or at least somewhat introverted I think. I say that because I find the extroverts tend to be less independent than introverts. You are also right about staying busy when they're gone.
awwww Laurie- I just adore you and cherish your words so much! My spouse is currently away for 3 weeks (not a pilot)- I just loved this video!!!!! Thank You!!!!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I'm a physician's wife, and we deal with a lot of the same issues. I really needed to hear the love yourself part yesterday because that part is hard for me! Thank you Laurie.
That was a great video! Thank you for sharing your faith and the truth about being a pilot wife. My husband was a 777 captain when he retired after 30+ years with a major airline. We moved several times and he commuted several times. I understand and agree with everything you said in this video. I wish every women who contemplates marrying a pilot would listen to it. It is a different life and sometimes can be difficult but we had 49 years of marriage and it worked for us. Thanks again!
Your advice is helpful in all relationships not just with pilots. I really enjoy your videos, your personality, and your take on things. I’m taking my partner (of 45 yrs) to Kauai next May first class all the way, penthouse resort, etc. I found your video about the island and have been following you ever since. We are really looking forward to it. Thanks again for all the helpful hints and entertainment. I flew a lot as the daughter of a military family growing up. I know how hard it can be to be uprooted every couple years. Congrats on your 18 year marriage. Separation can be hard.
Omgosh you two are so cute together! 💕🥰🥰💕 Happy Anniversary early - I just have this feeling that I have flown under his wings but I pretty much only fly one airline so not possible. Lol .. I love that you are Christian and finally posted how it works for you in the video. ❤️ I know that from a friend who was a pilot for years (married) mentioned that there are others that pilots who do decompress in another way 🤨 after flights (connect). Hopefully it's declined but you never know. Great piece! 😀
I'm so glad I found you! This is a great video from any young/new wife, not just a pilot wife! I've been married 27 years and you have given such great advice on traveling but marriage as well.
Laurie this is a wonderful video with many hard truths for newlyweds whether their husbands are pilots or not. Its communication. Loving yourself first. Respecting each others needs...married 26 years so I understand. Great video!!!!
Love that wedding photo! I am a retired RN & I used to laugh at the misconceptions about marriage to a doctor. (Something I consciously avoided). Sounds similar.
Haha you're right! Thank you fro watching! What do you think about all the travel restrictions b/c of the virus? Airlines are losing big money! So we're not renovating our bathroom this year.
TravelTipsbyLaurie you’re right about being cautious with nonessentials in the budget. DH & I are in the higher risk age and health categories so we have a cruise booked for next spring- that will be fine but the one for the Panama this fall we were just talking over as a likely pass for now till things settle down. We will take the next few months to decide but our travel is narrowing down to essentials only. I don’t worry too much about the flights- I have a system- much like your system. I am immune compromised and I have reason to trust my system- wiping down my area with a sanitizer, liberal hand washing & sanitizer gel plus using the filtered air nozzle above me to create a positive pressure air “bubble” of clean Hepa filtered air in my vicinity. I don’t get sick after a flight anymore like I did before these little precautions. Normally I trust the cruise lines- we never get the Noro virus even when it’s really blowing through on board. Again similar system. But till we know more about the transmission of the new virus & the cruise lines get a handle- we are backing off cruising. I figure less than a year & they’ll have the virus habits nailed, as well as a good plan to stop the spread on board. And another Christian couple here, we pray nightly for this thing to stop.
Good solid advice for ANY marriage. It took me a long while to recognize that I needed to be complete on my own, hubby too, so that we could together compliment each other's lives. If a person isn't whole on their own, another human being isn't going to fill that space, and that's a terrible burden to put on that other person.
Thank you for this video. I have been with my pilot boyfriend for 3 years now, I love how committed he is to our relationship, he keeps me updated about all his movements and activities etc and it makes it so much easier since we are in different states at the moment. He does visit from time to time whenever he has the opportunity. I think this one is a keeper 😊
I found your channel by looking for packing tips. However, I just watched the whole “pilot answers questions” playlist because you and your husband are adorable together. I fly once or twice per year, but I always have been a nervous flyer. I have enjoyed learning about planes and turbulence and tips for flying from both of you. I loved your proposal story! I don’t remember which video it was from, but GO DAWGS!!!! Thanks for such helpful and enjoyable content!!!
I’m seeing this in October 2023 after enjoying many of your travel tips videos this past year. I’ve adopted some changes and made recommended purchases that have made travel easier and better. So much wisdom and maturity here for really all women in marriage. The added aspect of being separated is part of many relationships where spouses have different work schedules. Thank you for speaking the truth, not sugar coating challenges and empowering women to rise to the responsibilities of not always having your spouse physically nearby. Well done!❤ All the best to you and your pilot!👨🏼✈️
Thank you. This is excellent advice and can be applied to many situations. My husband is a long haul semi driver and gone for 2-3 weeks at a time. Once for 7 weeks. Our children are grown but this would be very hard for a young wife with little children. Thank you for all of the positive suggestions. That decompress when he gets home is a real thing😊.
Thank you for doing this video. It was good advice for ANY marriage. Especially the 'communication is key' and talk to each other and asking instead of telling. Bravo! Bless you
Sounds like life married to a fire fighter. Mine works 48 hrs at one then goes to 2nd job for another 12hrs. Then rest of days off works 2 and 3rd jobs. I agree, u have to be good at being alone. The eating at home while he eats out is so relatable! Wish u lived closer...we could hang out!
Luanne21 Agree, many points are like a military wife..... only when they are gone it is for much longer than for 2-5 days. Months is more like it, I feel for all you ladies, I did it for 42 years while raising our 2 daughters. It can be done when you are strong . Power on ladies!
What great marriage advice! My husband is not a pilot but "lives" on a plane traveling weekly (for past 29 years). So much of this can apply to marriages in a lot of different careers. Thank you! I also applaud you for making this creative content. Not seen this on YT before.
Wow, I learned alot watching you describe what life is like through a pilot wife's eyes. There's much I cannot relate to, but there are some things I can. My husband is a retired police officer, and I know what it's like to have attended celebrations, weddings, holidays and even family events without him. It seems like I was always hoping the next days off or furloughs were soon coming. I fondly (yes, fondly) remember trying to keep a newborn from crying enough to wake him up, then a happy, loud toddler. I wish your husband safe travels in his career, and hope you keep making wonderful memories to share.
Dear Laurie, Thank you so much for this. It is good to hear you speak truth. It is encouraging and great tips. Had to revisit this one because sometimes… one needs to be reminded.
My son is a pilot and my daughter-in-law is a saint. She is the epitome of organization and is able to handle balancing the schedules of my two beautiful grandchildren ages 5 and 7. I love that you brought up the importance of faith and communication. It’s the key to any successful marriage. My husband and I will be celebrating our 44th anniversary this year.
Yes does sound like an Army wife! My hubby did 20 yrs and retired from the Army, you hit the nail right on the head....you gotta be comfortable with yourself and being alone. Makes you a bad %#$ sort of woman! Kudos :)
I just watched this for the heck of it, I am not married to a pilot but he at times travels for work being self employed, he was in another state when covid started last winter and was gone for 3 months, without dragging on in detail your suggestions can actually be applied in non pilot wife marriages, husband is currently away helping his dad for mostly no paycheck while I am alone at home with our 4 year old and 15 year old. in a fixer upper house, I am thankful it's not winter this time. The working on being content with yourself is a struggle but a work in progress. It may sound silly this comment but it is a nice and kind of uplifting watching your videos.
My marriage was about the same because he worked in a factory 6 or7 days and overtime. So I did most the fixing ,cleaning ,shopping ,bills paying school activities, you name it. He did the yard and helped when possible. You do have to like being self reliant. Married over 50 years. Now retired we enjoy being together but separate too as needed.
This is great info for any marriage! Communication, give and take is key! Great vlog! My hubby and I celebrated 33 years of marriage and hope to have many more.
This is amazing! I am a pilots wife with a 2 year old, I am originally from the UK and moved to the Netherlands to support his career and also mine. It can be hard being in a different country when he's away on layovers with support with a young toddler, but we have learnt to adapt, and the more into his career we are enjoying the perks, however I think I personally still need to get used to the unpredictable schedules 😖 it's been a struggle.
What a great video! You made so many good points that apply to so many marriages, not just pilot/wife ones ("crash" - I laughed and laughed). Those three words in a marriage are just so critical - communication, communication, communication. Sounds like you both have cemented that into your marriage. And I especially love finding yet another sister in the Lord!
Nice insight into being a pilot’s wife. As a single woman who is not married, but consider myself to be someone’s future wife one day, I really appreciated this video. Whilst it’s aimed at pilots wives, I believe non- pilot wives, new wives, wannabes wives can all take something from this. There are times when I get really frustrated when I have to tend to things in my house on my own, or have to deal with trades people to get works / repairs done. Often thinking, when am I going to meet my husband and then I wouldn’t have to deal with this? Forgetting that having a husband does not automatically guarantee that I wouldn’t have to deal with such matters! Your outlook has made me appreciate that my independence can actually be of value to a future husband, as being an independent woman, I find can often be portrayed as being a negative thing nowadays.
Well said, 40 years later you make excellent marriage advice for my sister.... forwarding you to her now...( not a pilots wife but her hubby traveled A lot!
Hi! I'm in a fairly new relationship with my pilot boyfriend and trying to get an idea of what to expect and what not to expect. I appreciate your video. It's been a hard adjustment, but I'm committed to making it work.
That's great that you are committed. What part of it is a struggle? Do y'all talk about it? It is such a rocky job (hubby just took a 40% pay cut), so we have never over-spent. That was hard in the beginning. Thank you for watching.
Grew up in a pilot household and so many of your tips are spot on! Probably why I have zero issues as a surgeon wife, they live in the OR. I can’t call him if the toilet overflows!
So many good tips here for any young couple. I was an Army wife and many similarities. Was thinking I wish I had this video to watch back then because you have so many practical good tips here. I continue to enjoy your videos. Continued blessings to you and your family.
You are such a blessing Laurie. Thank you so much for making this. Your Husband is very blessed to have you. Question: ●How did you manage raising children? ●Also, were you working full-time at any point... If yes, what did that look like... If no, was it something you had to decide on?
Thanks for watching! He is hands-on and helped a ton with our only child when he was home. We also lived on a street where everyone was outside and that helped, I only worked for 6 months after our son was born. Now I work on videos lol. We knew he would make more money later and I enjoyed staying home so we did not spend alot those toddler years.
Laurie, another great video. I agree with other commentators that your advise is good for any couple. I especially like your advise of living BELOW your means to have money later. Too many people get into debt, or manage their finances poorly. I often suffer from "retail therapy" and I'm not married to an often absent pilot. I wish your son well in math. I majored in it (then never used again). Not everyone "gets" the number play of math, but it is a good subject to learn logical thinking to solve a problem.
Thank you fro watching, Breta. I loved math so I have no idea how to help him because I don't see how he cannot get it. But his tutor has been perfect! I just went on a retail run yesterday...but now we have tons of points on our card haha.
I so relate! Fellow pilot wife here. The eating out had to laugh at! Love the date idea in different cities! Although nowadays my husband is able to come home much more regularly so some of these things are no longer an issue for us.
My husband is not a pilot but - wow- the scheduling/time apart and having to be independent sounds just like my life/marriage 😂 I’ve fixed my own leaking fridge, beeping oven, and hearing odd sounds, and many holidays/fam bdays without him. I totally felt all you were saying. Interesting info and funny intro 😂 I once knew of a pilot/realtor who had a wife expecting back home- well, his wife went into labor and a passenger was ummm “bumped” off the next plane for him to get a seat 💺. 😂 I may have to get that book 📚 😆
I am so grateful to hear what you have to say. I have been married to my husband for a year and 3 months and we are struggling. He is still working on getting his flight hours but has a start date with an airline for next summer. He struggles with pornography/sex addiction and my fear is of what will happened when he is gone for so many days at a time. We are Christians too and my husband actually has a meeting with our pastor next week. I believe Jesus has redeeming powers to help us and I’m trying not to loose hope, but it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Prayers please.
I enjoyed this thank you and for reminding us about how our mighty God views us. You are a wonderful wife! Being a wife can be the most rewarding position we take on.
My husband was in sales, gone 4 days a week and like your pilot, when he came home he didn't want to eat out or have company. You gave excellent suggestions! We moved to several states as well, bible studies were a salvation for me and made many friends that way. When he first came home, I would have the kids play and give us an hour to just talk. Great Tips!
So exciting to hear your a christian family! Even though my husband and I were Christian's, he decided to leave me and my daughter. It was like I was Princess Diana and he had a Camilla. Anyway, I had made attempts to try and save up to take my daughter on a plane somewhere. It became a bucket list thing. But being single, getting no support, stuff like dentist bills and car bills took the little I had. But this year, with the pandemic, I've had more chance to save up. I can see the light. My cousin, who got married during the pandemic said they'd have something big next May in California. My mom said, "take your daughter and GO!" So I am hoping and praying things open up and is safe to travel without 14 day quarantine. I came upon your videos and am enjoying the planning, dreaming of it all.
Hi stumbled across and enjoy your videos🌸 your suggestions & thoughts are spot on ! I'm currently dating (very seriously) an FO and I'm a former FA & GA, so I basically understand his schedule! However the tables have slightly turned because I quit the airline industry to work in the medical field. I'm frontline dealing with the pandemic, so now (because aviation has slowed down and the hospitals are overflowing)...we rarely see each other (again😊), but we talk & text a lot!! we're strong in our friendship & commitment to each other, so hopefully we'll be fine ! If it's meant to be, it'll be ! Thxs for sincere & honest advice and Stay safe! 🌸✈🌸
"Pull your kids out of school"... Absolute Truth!!! We did this all of the time... while we would get "push back" for doing this...our family unit was strengthened by our travels. Neither of my children suffered academically. In fact, both are college graduates (summa and magna cum laude) with successful careers. Now we all travel together with their families and children... Even during the school year. 😊 Kids can expand their education while traveling the world and seeing real life in other places.
I am not a pilot wife. My husband works shift work in a hospital surgical department as an anaesthesia tech. He works long hours and can get called out all night for surgeries. It is a stressful job. And with covid it is even more stressful. We all have to work on communication and what each other needs. Thank you for the insight into your life.
Love your sound advice-good for all, even if you aren't a pilot's wife!! My nephew is a pilot, am guessing just as long if not longer than your hubby-his wife had done a great job bringing up their girls since she is also alone a lot! Most important is keeping Jesus first in your marriage!! Thanks for sharing, love your videos!
Very enlightening video! Great advice especially concerning our view of ourselves according to the world view or God’s view! Should be helpful for those considering marriage to a pilot or maybe even a flight attendant.
Always wondered what it would be like to be married to a pilot. Great video👍🏽 I would so love this because I enjoy being alone the most. I'm like your hubby when he gets home.
I woke up one morning to no water pressure. Found a "water fountain" in front yard where pipe from street had busted. Had to figure out how to turn off water & get a plumber.
When you move to a new area, how do you make friends? Are friends in your circle all pilot wives or do you meet folks who aren't in the aviation field? I was married to a pilot (Air Force and Corporate) for 31 years. Making friends as a military wife was easy, we were all in the same situation; being married to a pilot in "civilian" life was a lot different! We know how to find a way or make a way; if I can't fix it maybe the neighbor next door can! I no longer have to deal with crazy schedules, etc., but I'm still wondering; how do you make friends? Love your tips and I'm looking forward to more totally no-stress trips.
Hi, for us we find a church and get involved. But yes, just volunteering or going to neighborhood activities is a way. It can be hard! We also invite people here who we meet.
I have learned lately!! Stop watching flight aware. ✈️it can be worrisome, I watched Dave's plane make a big circle in the air , or started to turn around omg so many times. Love your channel , no one knows . Lol we had dinner with a couple once , my friend asked how do you it? How do you stay so happy, Dave's reaction " I'm gone alot". Omg.
I've thoroughly enjoyed this video & I can so relate on so many levels. My husband a project manager & engineer, so I usually get to see him 6 weekends a year & it's been like that for 25 years. We just make it work & we know each others rules & it works for us, even though it's hard at times. Greetings from South Africa
Any tips for our marriage: married 13 years, 2 young kids, and husband is changing careers to become a commercial pilot. I work and I have lots of apprehensions about this journey starting with the 2 year training period. We're based in France. Thanks :)
Bonjour and Oui! I would just keep communicating about what would be helpful for you when he first gets home and what is helpful for him when he first arrives too. It's tough with young kiddos since you will be so tired. It was the weekends that were boring because I could not invite ourselves to someone's house for a play date lol. I also invested in preschool classes so I could have a break. We also would do the whole just us sit on the sofa after all the greetings and talk while the kids played. They knew it was then mom and dad time so that helped get some conversation time. Our biggest hurdle with finances was to stop going out to eat so often. And we did it.
*SSSOOOOOO glad you made this video* !!!! *This will give anyone thinking about being married to a pilot REALISTIC expectations* !!! *Many people are like me and thought it was all glamorous to be married to a pilot* !!!!!!!!!!! #TravelTipsByLaurie
Hi Laurie, just wanted to say you have such a beautiful/positive/intelligent attitude towards your marriage and your life. I have started seeing a helicopter pilot, probably a lot different than airline pilot, but was wondering what to expect emotionally if things get more serious later. It is all super helpful information, wish you and your family all the best
Would love to be friends with you on Facebook. I’m married to an airline pilot for 9 years together for 15 years. I don’t have much support here in the Memphis area. This is great advice for anyone getting ready to be married and to know what they’re getting into before they get started with their marriage. Thanks for video!
Great insights Laurie! I won't be marrying a pilot in the foreseeable future but I enjoy hearing your perspective. I'm thinking that marrying a pilot might be good for women who are already location-independent (aka digital nomads) and can work via their laptops from anywhere in the world if they choose. 😃❤
Leah Veal, this video applies as much to a business man, civil servant or just about anyone as it does to a pilot. I am the third generation in my family that had/have husbands who travel extensively. My grandfather worked for the federal government out of one of the regions and I remember him travelling, my grandmother had to get used to it from the very early days of her marriage, my mum followed suit when she married my dad and in fact one of his early jobs had him home 4 weekends a year and there was actually 1 day where he checked into 3 hotels in 3 different towns, that job lasted with him about a year as I had come along and then my husband didn’t travel over night quite as often, but, I never knew for a lot of years when he would get home.
Love this video! Good advice for all marriages, but some have these unique challenges. So much of it applies to law enforcement wives as well. Thanks!!❤

You're so right; so many women can relate to these types of jobs. Thanks for watching!
awwww Laurie- I just adore you and cherish your words so much! My spouse is currently away for 3 weeks (not a pilot)- I just loved this video!!!!! Thank You!!!!
Can I just say I love you dearly? You are spot on for any marriage! You don't know how much I needed to hear these reminders tonight!
Cindy, thank you so much! I hope they help encourage women.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I'm a physician's wife, and we deal with a lot of the same issues. I really needed to hear the love yourself part yesterday because that part is hard for me! Thank you Laurie.

You're so right! Thank you fro watching!
Excellently said. Your explanations are so carefully thought through. Quite enlightening.
Yay, that made my day!
Good morning, Laurie. Great advice, sounds good for all marriages. Thank you for the vidos.
Thank you fro watching! Do you watch The Bachelor?
That was a great video! Thank you for sharing your faith and the truth about being a pilot wife. My husband was a 777 captain when he retired after 30+ years with a major airline. We moved several times and he commuted several times. I understand and agree with everything you said in this video. I wish every women who contemplates marrying a pilot would listen to it. It is a different life and sometimes can be difficult but we had 49 years of marriage and it worked for us. Thanks again!
Thanks for sharing! So true.
Yes! We honeymooned in Kauai 20.1 years ago. Y'all will love it! It's so funny; my "uncle" and aunt never married an were together as long as you.
Omgosh you two are so cute together! 💕🥰🥰💕 Happy Anniversary early - I just have this feeling that I have flown under his wings but I pretty much only fly one airline so not possible. Lol .. Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it.
I'm so glad I found you! This is a great video from any young/new wife, not just a pilot wife! I've been married 27 years and you have given such great advice on traveling but marriage as well.
I am so glad for you!!
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
You're welcome
Beautiful wedding photos.
Good talk. Great advice for any marriage. Thank you.
Hope it helps those new wives. Thank you for watching!
Laurie this is a wonderful video with many hard truths for newlyweds whether their husbands are pilots or not. Its communication. Loving yourself first. Respecting each others needs...married 26 years so I understand. Great video!!!!
Thank you so much!
You're so right! It's definitely a balance. Thanks for watching!
Well said
Thank you for this video.
Thanks for sharing!!
Woohoo! Thanks so much for watching.
Thanks so much Robin💙💕
It would be hard. Yes, drivers and military jobs would be difficult. Thank you fro watching!
Great Video. This is good advice for every marriage or relationship. Greetings from Germany
Sounds like a Army wife life. Good morning, Laurie
Luanne21 Agree, many points are like a military wife..... only when they are gone it is for much longer than for 2-5 days. Months is more like it, I feel for all you ladies, I did it for 42 years while raising our 2 daughters. It can be done when you are strong . Power on ladies!
YES! That is a great comparison. Military wives are tight! Thanks for watching!
Yes that's exactly right, except the time apart can be much longer. Thanks for watching!
Thinking the exact same thing. Great video, Laurie...and wonderful marital tips to everyone!
What great marriage advice! My husband is not a pilot but "lives" on a plane traveling weekly (for past 29 years). So much of this can apply to marriages in a lot of different careers. Thank you! I also applaud you for making this creative content. Not seen this on YT before.
I'm hoping it helps some at the beginning of their marriage.
Wow I had no idea. I liked hearing about this!
Don't know how I missed this one, but it's wonderful! Thanks! 💕
Oh good
Dear Laurie, Thank you so much for this. It is good to hear you speak truth. It is encouraging and great tips. Had to revisit this one because sometimes… one needs to be reminded.
Thank you so much!
I thought I had replied to this but I guess now. Thank you so much!
Yes does sound like an Army wife! My hubby did 20 yrs and retired from the Army, you hit the nail right on the head....you gotta be comfortable with yourself and being alone. Makes you a bad %#$ sort of woman! Kudos :)
Thanks for watching! Yes, that's a great comparison.
I am so glad! Yes, all that is very true.
I love that you are able to spread the Gospel through this amazing channel, Laurie!
Thank you so much!
Interesting, my son is heading to a Regional Airline this fall😊
Very helpful video! Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Oh, sweet! And you're so right. Thank you fro watching!
It is such a struggle especially with a young one-or two!! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the insight
Thanks for watching!
Hugs! Thanks for watching!
I’m not a pilot’s wife, but I am a nurse (and a wife) who works very unpredictable hours. Great tips for all marriages. Communication is key!
You get it! So true. Thank you for watching!
Yes! Love your thoughts too.
Well said, 40 years later you make excellent marriage advice for my sister.... forwarding you to her now...( not a pilots wife but her hubby traveled A lot!
They apply to so many, right? Thanks for watching!
Great video. Not a pilot wife but your advice is great for any marriage. Thank you for sharing. I also appreciated you wove in faith. :)
Thanks for watching! I love marriage so much. I also have a video called God, Who Do You Say I Am
Grew up in a pilot household and so many of your tips are spot on! Probably why I have zero issues as a surgeon wife, they live in the OR. I can’t call him if the toilet overflows!
So true! Hugs
So many good tips here for any young couple. I was an Army wife and many similarities. Was thinking I wish I had this video to watch back then because you have so many practical good tips here. I continue to enjoy your videos. Continued blessings to you and your family.
Thanks for the advices! Im a pilot wife tooooo
Oh awesome! Hugs.
Thank you for not being afraid to share your faith.
Hope it helps!
You are such a blessing Laurie. Thank you so much for making this.
Your Husband is very blessed to have you.
Question:
●How did you manage raising children?
You are very nice person, very understanding. I am from Australia. You and your husband are very nice couple
Best advice ever! For everyone. Live beneath your means. THANK YOU.
Thank you for watching!
This is so good, Laurie!! ❤️❤️
EEEEK! Thanks, friend! How did you find this?
Great advice across the board. My husband has always worked 6 days a week. We never have the same day off.
That would be hard to balance. Thanks for watching!
This was excellent! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
As always, GREAT ADVICE!!!! 💕💕💕 next time I am in Sugarland I’ll try to bring you some good eats for the Hubby from NOLA!!
One of my favorites❤ and great marriage advice for any couple
I so relate! Fellow pilot wife here. The eating out had to laugh at! Love the date idea in different cities! Although nowadays my husband is able to come home much more regularly so some of these things are no longer an issue for us.
So glad we've come so far...but 3 from the bottom here in Houston lol. Thanks!
Interesting info and funny intro 😂
I once knew of a pilot/realtor who had a wife expecting back home- well, his wife went into labor and a passenger was ummm “bumped” off the next plane for him to get a seat 💺. 😂 I may have to get that book 📚 😆
Oh, yes, family emergencies are top priority for airlines. Yep, you get the struggle it sounds like. Do you watch The Bachelor? Thanks for watching!
Good advice for any marriage really! Will be married for 12 years next August and much of the advice given is what we try to live by in our marriage ❤
Congrats to y'all!
Oh yes! Redeeming over and over. I will pray for that and for you to trust that God is working even when you're apart. Thank you for watching!
Love the honesty
Thanks!
I enjoyed this thank you and for reminding us about how our mighty God views us. You are a wonderful wife! Being a wife can be the most rewarding position we take on.
So true! Thanks for watching!
Great Tips!
Janice, that's a fabulous idea! These tips apply to so many wives. Thanks for watching again.
Oh wow, what a story! Let me know if you get to go!! Thank you!!
So neato! Thank you for watching!
Give him a big hug from all of us! Yes, you're right.
Watching this for my future husband💗
Good advice no matter what the profession (s). You might think you know what makes your spouse “tick,” but sometimes it’s not as obvious as you think.
I agree. Thank you for watching!
So true thanks for being real!💕✊
Of course!!
I’m also married to a Pilot… I resonate with ur video alot😅
Hi sister! Thank you for watching!
Always wondered what it would be like to be married to a pilot. Great video👍🏽 I would so love this because I enjoy being alone the most. I'm like your hubby when he gets home.
Oh nice! Thank you for watching!
I woke up one morning to no water pressure. Found a "water fountain" in front yard where pipe from street had busted. Had to figure out how to turn off water & get a plumber.
Grrrrrr. Thanks for watching! Hope the rest of the week is easy!
Omg.
You are so right on learning to fix things @ i have fixed so many things.
Love what you are saying! So hard sometimes but I'm so proud of him.
Hahaha. Love it!
Yes, you totally get it. Thank you for watching, Alicia. Enjoy your weather!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie thank you Laurie, loving our sunshine
#TravelTipsByLaurie
sounds like military life as well - mine is retired now.
Yes so many jobs take you away for periods of time. Thanks for watching!
Hi, smart to think about those things.
Would love to be friends with you on Facebook. I’m married to an airline pilot for 9 years together for 15 years. I don’t have much support here in the Memphis area. This is great advice for anyone getting ready to be married and to know what they’re getting into before they get started with their marriage. Thanks for video!
Thank you!
You're right; that would be helpful. Thanks for watching!
You're so right....truckers, military, public service and commuters on a plane all week to work and back home. Thanks for watching!
Love this video! Good advice for all marriages, but some have these unique challenges. So much of it applies to law enforcement wives as well. Thanks!!❤
YES! Exactly. Thanks for watching!
