I have just now discovered J dilla instrumentals and now I'm set for life. I don't think I'll have to listen to any new-age shit ever again, thank God.
- Busta Rhymes just recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award from BET. J Dilla, if he was still alive, should have been standing with him during his acceptance speech.
Ever hear the version of this with Madlib spitting on it ? I think it was one of those songs where Dilla talks about that white label joint that Madlib did spitting off Dilla beats .. the precursor that lead to JayLib
This beat makes me want to go to the airport and get on a plane and get off that plane and get on another plane and eat at the airport and on the plane and watch movies
This beat is magical, is the type of beat you can put anywhere and it changes the ambience of everything, it's like the guitar and everything is just so harmonious it sounds amazing
It's based off a Stereolab song Come Play in the Milky Night. That's there guitar sampled and without that 1 sample the song is nothing but a kick and snare
I recall being stationed in Ft.Lee, VA(2001), and before I went home every weekend on the Amtrak too Philly, I just played this track NON STOP! RIP too J-Dilla
When a known french jewish singer and composer is sampled by one of the greatest afro american beatmakers ever ... it can lead to magic heights ... RIP ... both of them.
nicolas flamel to be fair, tim gane was in charge of the composition for stereolab. also, mary (the singer that sadly passed) was actually australian! laetitia is the french one!
When I first heard Anarchy in 2000, I had NO IDEA that this was a J Dilla Beat, it wasn until the summer of 2002 I was introduced to J Dilla music and didn’t realize he made so many songs I loved already! ❤ MISS THIS DUDE🥹 RIP J DILLA
Glad he was here, sad he's not. Terminality of all things may have pushed him, but I cant help but wonder what more could've been. THANK YOU DILLA. Once in a lifetime...
Used to rock this track on repeat in Hawaii back in '02/'03 time frame when Busta's "Anarchy" album came out. Jay Dee (Dilla) and Busta was dope for this one!
These are some of the best drums he programmed in my opinion, the pocket, different snare samples/velocities for the accents and everything just sounds so natural and laid back. Limp wrist mean muggin shit And by best drums he ever programmed I mean like top 100 cause all his drums are perfect
If you're unfamiliar with Jay Dee then this right here serves as a perfect example to summarize the way his music makes you feel after having listened to it for so many years. I tend to have difficulty in choosing one over another ["favorites"] and the sheer amount of shimmering gems that he's produced is remarkable. Simply put, the dude had a really good ear for music along with the capabilities of what to do with it. The results of his efforts are what made him so inspiring, respected, talented, creative and versatile. In my opinion, "Show Me What You Got" is kinda like one of the many fingerprints to Dilla's soul. Other instrumental or vocal mix recommendations include... [personally, any and all Dilla is fine by me but..]---> Alien Family, 4 Horsemen, Ahmad Impresses Me, Fall In Love, Dooinit, Purple, Ash Rockin, Sunbeams, Dreamy, Worship, I'm So Glad You're Dorothy, The Exclusive, Secrets of the Sand, E=MC2, Waves [or anything from Donuts], In Space, Runnin, Vibeout, Wind, Microphone Master, and there are soOoOo many others. That's right, your nails won't even exist anymore after trying to scratch the surface! JDEEEEnjoy!
This song is literally the guitar from the beginning of Stereolab's "Come Play In The Milky Night". Without that 1 sample the song is a kick drum, a snare and a high hat. Literally. JD was overrated. He had a good ear for sampled but this is what I call... a 'basic beat'. Thank Stereolab for Show Me What You Got. It there guitar. Nothing more
@lormegz Indeed it is. Stereolab is such a great band! Love their music. And it was his good ear for music which made him the prolific producer he was. I appreciate that you have your opinions, and I'm not sh!thing on them in any way, but in my opinion he wasn't overrated in any way. There are producers out there who won't crate dig to the same degree or dive into various diverse genres to seek out less heard music as other producers do. This is another quality which set Dilla apart from others at the time. It's also what made Nujabes so talented.
One of my top 10 beats I spit to this everyday never write just my sound and a getaway I use to just escape the world wish life was different I now know its can be if you be true to yourself & others
Maybe one day the people will wake up. Dilla, Pete Rock, 9th Wonder, DJ Premier, Rza, True Masta, Allah Math, 4th Desciple, Beatminerz, Ez Moe Bee, The Bomb Squade, Marley Marl and Organize Noise have created so much good music and for them to take a back seat to Dr Dre or any other Producer who think they are is sick! the 1st 4 has interludes better than any one full song!
8 of these would make up my top 10 also ! Throw in Buckwild and Havoc of Mobb Deep and we're there. Organized noize, beatminers and Easy mo bee are great shouts
Dre’s up there with the rest of em! There’s some new cats that’s dope too check out knxwledge and mndsgn they probably get the closest to the dilla thing now
This may seem morbid but this is on My Funeral Playlist. When I die whoever coming to the service is going to be hip to Dilla and Stereolab by the time its over. Shout to the struggling living in the time of COVID.
LoL at how there are 93 thumbs down. Just shot back to this for a breath of fresh HipHop. Yes Dilla!!!! These drums change the rhythm of my heartbeat every time.
Pistol pack still in 2019' thanks to J'Dilla still delivers although unseen' rest easy' It's peasy never cheese'ee when JD Dee'jay on turntables beat machines or keys' Beats take me to the heavenly' Jump started a'many' genre's one Lofi' Q'tip Ye' MF-Doom & Quasi' Dilla is the root for definitely keep Sol flowin' for eternity' Find his beats on you tube most likely' see me dropn lycs for free' it's an ode to an OG' all his days he kept it for the purist no bullshit Hop purity' To the fullest respect Rest In Peace PEACE'

You can literally feel the vibe he put into this just in his own space imagine how in his element he was inside these instrumentals
some normal people might say it gets annoying and repetitive as you listen but I say it gets crazier and deeper
It’s crazy how you love a beat so much growing up and never know how many others shared the same sentiments.
Right! I feel so isolated in my love for Dilla in reality. Love seeing others and connecting with that love on here.
Yo I was thinking exactly the same shit even before I clicked on this mf'ing beat. Crazy synchronicity.
Now you can def know you ain't alone.
Zulute!
I have just now discovered J dilla instrumentals and now I'm set for life. I don't think I'll have to listen to any new-age shit ever again, thank God.

Atam Rusho cool.....Man I like his beats so much more consistantly than Preme, 9th Wonder....but now ERICK SERMON is a Horse of another color....lol
much respect to you man haha peace!
Edward Gore you right!! the dude was special!!!!
Edward Gore you know it’s funny you say that about E dub, I️ think Dilla adopted that signature bass synth from him on the Enigma album
- Busta Rhymes just recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award from BET. J Dilla, if he was still alive, should have been standing with him during his acceptance speech.
I get chills every time I hear this beat. Dilla gone, but never forgotten. Love
so soulful, so divine
One of the hardest beats ever
To date.. this is arguably 1 of the greatest Dilla beats ever.. so damn raw! Busta Rhymes bodies this too!
MANAFEST VISION MEDIA LLC. Hella raw indeed. RIP J Dilla.
I love busta but this beat wasn't for him. weirdly I can hear old school Kanye and tribe called quest.
JoeCnNd I loved Busta on this. And of course Dilla was my fave Busta producer.
Ever hear the version of this with Madlib spitting on it ? I think it was one of those songs where Dilla talks about that white label joint that Madlib did spitting off Dilla beats .. the precursor that lead to JayLib
JoeCnNd new school cats I hear Kendrick spitting all over this
This beat puts me in a different world
This beat makes me want to go to the airport and get on a plane and get off that plane and get on another plane and eat at the airport and on the plane and watch movies
@kevin_brown Suge
I was 11 bumping Busta Rhymes, heard this song and just kept repeating it. Man, I miss J Dilla, 15 years later I still got this on repeat lol
The work of true masters - both Dilla and Stereolab.
Seriously tho.. this joint was a instant classic... Legendary.
One of the greatest beats I’ve ever heard to this day.
The fact that he chose to make the drums hit before bringing in the sample made the intro so perfect.
Drum filthiness is over 9000
Indeed...
WORD !!!
Makes you insta-love it
10,000
AMEN TO THAT
everytime i search for Dilla I find a new favourite, so simple yet so intricate at the same time. RIP James.
I recall being stationed in Ft.Lee, VA(2001), and before I went home every weekend on the Amtrak too Philly, I just played this track NON STOP! RIP too J-Dilla
❤❤still one of the best in hip hop
Still one of the top beats of all time in my opinion.. You can just close your eyes and go some place else. Thanks for this one.
"Show me what you got for meee" Bus KILLED this!!

Dude!!!!!! Only recently i found out about this guy.Honestly he just might be the best of all time.I could listen to this guys beats all the time.
Dilla is the GREATEST PRODUCER in the History of the World...#simple
When a known french jewish singer and composer is sampled by one of the greatest afro american beatmakers ever ... it can lead to magic heights ... RIP ... both of them.
nicolas flamel to be fair, tim gane was in charge of the composition for stereolab. also, mary (the singer that sadly passed) was actually australian! laetitia is the french one!
Who cares about race, we all humans after all with the same limbs and organs. Peace love and unity for the whole world
Why are you talking about race?? The MPC does know no race.
Peace, Blessings, & Resurrection to King J Dilla. These instrumentals are phenomenal....
Dilla was a genius - we all know... and just when you thought you heard everything, this beat comes along... which confirms again he's a genius
This beat make me thinking about my life from the past to the present.!!!R.i.p JD🙏 #soulbeat #realrapmusicivlife!!! #Dillaforever!!!

Shit dropped in like 99 00 and still gets heavy play! I can’t even imagine how Busta felt when he first heard this track
He let you know how he felt in the first line, HUUUUUUAAAAAAA!
“Another one of them marvelous joint💎✨”- busta rhymes
When I first heard Anarchy in 2000, I had NO IDEA that this was a J Dilla Beat, it wasn until the summer of 2002 I was introduced to J Dilla music and didn’t realize he made so many songs I loved already! ❤ MISS THIS DUDE🥹 RIP J DILLA

Glad he was here, sad he's not. Terminality of all things may have pushed him, but I cant help but wonder what more could've been. THANK YOU DILLA. Once in a lifetime...
One of Bustas many styles, of flow... same for J dilla, masterpiece
Used to rock this track on repeat in Hawaii back in '02/'03 time frame when Busta's "Anarchy" album came out. Jay Dee (Dilla) and Busta was dope for this one!
Out of this world!!!
Rip to Mary Hansen, the guitarist on this original masterpiece, "Come and Play in the Milky Night" by Stereolab. RIP also to Dilla.
Beautiful instrumental
Only found this beat a few weeks ago but imma be real this one of my favourite hip hop beats
There is no limit to how many times this can be looped. Perfect. Thanks for the upload ❤
That would make it a copy of a copy. Refer to... Stereolab's Come Play In The Milky Night
I've been listening too rap thru 4 decades, but mannnnn🤔, this is probably my FAVORITE beat ever. #RIPDilla 🍩
"Sunbeams" is my second favorite, yes this is my nr 1 as well:)This music keeps your soul young yet mature..
@@eighttimez8 ...YES!! That's the best definition to describe the sound.
Check out the beat for "Won't Do"
@@eighttimez8 I'm in a good part of youtube
It's been 20 years since he made this beat. 20 years man....
Such a chill good vibe simple beat
That's a dope sample
4 o 5 layer in loop genius
Stereolab
As I say it over & over...
So remarkable 😁
Those drums are so damn filthy! I got this beat set repeat. Can’t get enough.
These are some of the best drums he programmed in my opinion, the pocket, different snare samples/velocities for the accents and everything just sounds so natural and laid back. Limp wrist mean muggin shit
And by best drums he ever programmed I mean like top 100 cause all his drums are perfect
Tom S the ride is the key of this beat for me. Binds the drums and the melody in ways that I’m still decoding.
could have been another sample
Dilla & Madlib - The Message
Starting off my 2020 with timeless vibes and energy. R.I.P JD
dopeest Instrumental I've heard so far
