That was an insult forging from a truck rim no all you did was got it hot enough to straighten it out could have done that with acetylene torch you didn't Forge a knife you ground a knife
You think that everywhere there is an acetylene torch for you to flatten, forging does not mean you have to hammer and shape a piece of iron to call it forging.
@@loanknifethe actual definition of forging is "the act of shaping metal by hammering or pressing". Also, you used non-hardenable mild steel, meaning your big knife will not keep a sharp edge for more than a couple blows. You made yourself public, take some constructive criticism and up your skills. Use an old axle or a leaf spring and do 98% of the shaping with a hammer - that's real forging. Then you can heat treat it properly and have a real knife instead of something that looks like a knife, but isn't.
