    Depth capabilities of the GTI 2500 with Treasure Hound two-box depth multiplier are as follows: It goes about 3 feet for a soda can, 5 feet for a gallon size target, 6-7 feet for an object as big as one meter cube and 20 feet for an automobile size object.
    A GREAT thing about the Treasure Hound is that it IGNORES coin sized objects and small junk/trash targets while signalling on larger deeper targets (which, by the way, may indeed be junk/trash as well :-)
    May I suggest that you re-read the owner's manual. You CANNOT ground balance the two-box unit. Ground balance is fixed while Treasure Hound is attached. If you encounter mineralization or other interference which causes the threshold to fluctuate, then simply press and release the "All Metal" button to re-tune. However, you may indeed manually ground balance the " Eagle Eye" front search coil while holding the pinpoint button. This is for locating coin sized and larger targets and works as a fifteen inch search coil. Cheers.

      I noticed that as well ☺️
      .... He does not now a lot about metal detecting this guy ...... After all these years this machine still is one of the best ever made !

    For all those asking about a part 2. Unfortunately we no longer have this detector and there will be no part 2 for the time being. If I get another 2 box detector at some point I will retest it then.

  • @thaimetalDetection
    @thaimetalDetection  12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    By going into a factory reset it will always put the detector in the factory programmed initial setting. You can reference the manual to see what those settings are. It is simple really.

    About small gold nuggets hunting and professional detectors my question is: What are the most precise physical materials for a searchcoil?

  • @thaimetalDetection
    @thaimetalDetection  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    lolgamingzbrah Yes different size targets can be used. We have actually found the hollow post box to have a large footprint and give a very clear signal which is why we use it as a standard for testing 2 box detectors.

  • @thaimetalDetection
    @thaimetalDetection  12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I start by doing a factory reset, which puts all the parameters back in the original setting. You should always do this if you get confused. Then I ground balance and off I go. Should work with this minimal setup. The detector starts in all metal mode and then it is just pressing that indicated button to do a ground grab. That is it!

    what is the best detector,that can pick a higher or dept like 10 feet or 20,we have ah garret gti 2500 but cant work properly,it just make a noise ringing in detecting a mineral soil,tnx any body can answer my question,tnx

    I don't know what it is with other users of older garrett detectors.
    I have a garrett gta x500 and the 2500 also with the deep search coils. Now my machines are 32 years old and when ever we use them it's always $$$ in our bank.

    Lord to you? Good day. This detector acquired some months ago and I have no problem using the two coils, the problem is I have to use the antennas Eagle Eye, and that switching on the detector sounds all around and can not locate a metal as it is not stable.
    I saw your video and see that the detector sounds only in passing the antennas above the mailboxes. I ask you please tell me the calibration should I do to ring only upon detection of a metal.

    Does the maximum depth depend on the size of the target.
    Can this detector detect a small bucket sized gold object???

    Vinc717 Unfortunately we no longer have the detector and we don't normally carry Garrett's, so there will be no part 2 (at least with the 2500).

    I was shocked to see the holes being hand dug in such obviously hard ground. You'd better have paid them handsomely. Next time use a tractor mounted post hole auger!

    those are hollow kind of small targets it you think about it. i would like to see a depth test on
    some larger objects. Say you do a test on different sizes to make comparison. maybe a 1x1 foot item at 1.5 meters versus a 2x2 or a 3x3.
    maybe bigger items or more dense items might pick up better on it?

  • @thaimetalDetection
    @thaimetalDetection  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    +topher boy 10 or 20 feet depth. I have not personally handled or seen a detector that will detect this size target at that depth.

    let me ask you a question....at 2 meters the detector was not blind...? looks like with the eagle eye did not detect the target, just at 1 meter....is that right?

      The boxes were empty and freshly burried . This was according to me not a accurate test !!! He should have filled the box with coins and done the test two years later as the Oxydation allows a Halo effect to make the detection possible .

  • @thaimetalDetection
    @thaimetalDetection  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    guitarslim69 Your depth readings don't seem over stated. Is that something you found in printed material or by experience? If the Can is 3 feet (.9144 meter), it makes sense the larger buried post office box would be clearly detected at 1 meter but might be missed at 1.5 meters. The post office box would be slightly less that gallon size, 5 feet is 1.524 meters. So your depth estimations correspond with my findings it seems like.

      I have been using this since it came out in the late nineties and used the "BloodHound" depth multiplier on the Master Hunters before that, treasure hunting in both the US and Phils. Best of luck to ya!

      Only 5 years later, so this should be fine: what detector did you buy? Does it work well? What have you found at what depth?

  • @thaimetalDetection

    There was no rock or water in this example. Would like to see any other tests on two box detectors, was just trying to do an impartial test to verify the depth characteristics of the machine (not trying to impress anyone with the detector).

      The Garrett ATX with its 20 inches mono coil is the best for hunting deep big gold . And no need to choose among plenty of timings to hit the target !!!

    I was not impressed with the Detector in any mode. I would hope it is lack of operator experience. I would suggest a test through solid rock, or water. Several detectors can aquire at that depth. But solid rock and water can render them useless. Good Luck.

      You can acquire this detector at a Garret distributor and will not be disappointed . This is a high quality one and very much powerful . The deepest mode is in all metal and it will be very sensitive , even on fine gold as long as the ground is not too much mineralised . If so you will be best with a the Garrett ATX .
      Have fun .

    Poor peoples ! YOu let them dig those large holes or nearly like water wells only to make that "DEEP TEST" ? It´s nice to let them earn some money but you should to hire mechanical digger/"CAT" or at least find some place with soft ground to make it easyer to them. I am curious about how long takes to them, dig those great holes...? This way you give nice review but with some negatives. Have nice day everyone.

      This is about accurate (from another comment) Depth capabilities of the GTI 2500 with Treasure Hound two-box depth multiplier are as follows: It goes about 3 feet for a soda can, 5 feet for a gallon size target, 6-7 feet for an object as big as one meter cube and 20 feet for an automobile size object. If the target is large like a ammo can u can probly get 10 feet in clean soil... otherwise that deep u may want to look into ground sonar mapping
