- U.C. 0097, one year after the opening of "Laplace's Box." Despite the revelation of the Universal Century Charter that acknowledges the existence and rights of Newtypes, the framework of the world has not been greatly altered.
The conflict later dubbed the "Laplace Incident" is thought to have ended with the downfall of the Neo Zeon remnants known as the Sleeves. In its final battle, two full psycho-frame mobile suits displayed power beyond human understanding. The white unicorn and the black lion were sealed away to remove this danger from people's consciousness, and they should now be completely forgotten.
However, the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03, which disappeared two years earlier, is now about to show itself in the Earth Sphere once more. A golden phoenix... named Phenex. - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน

Every one needs to remember at the end when mineva said It would take them the rest of their lives to make sure that the unicorn and psychoframe tech is sealed and never to be used again. That is why it seems not to exist on events after unicorn in the UC timeline. Even after a millenia in G-reco it is considered a powerful tech even as an ancient relic
They’ll probably show it in a sequel where the RX-0s somehow take control of all psycho-frame and whisk it away to somewhere in the timestream where it’s unreachable, which would be an in-universe explanation as to why Hathaway features much bigger Mobile suits and psycho frame doesn’t appear in G-Reco and late UC installments. Just my theory tho.

UC is full of nonsensical space magic but man that looks awesome. I still can't get the image of Phenex being a spacefaring ghost that roams the universe out of my head. It looks.. peculiar.. weird.. and mysterious. Once it gets to fight, it fights like nothing short of shiny awesomeness. Single handedly decimating Neo Zeong like a plaything, an unstoppable force like slicing space itself, with incomprehensible speed. It's ghastly, it's alien, and it's awesome.

Blame Char Aznable and Nanai Miguel for inventing psycho-frame... its psycho-frame that gives form to a newtype's powers allowing it to physically manifest. for instance Phenex, as Phenex no longer uses its own propulsion to travel. instead it envelops itself with psycho-field like aura allowing the MS to travel at the speed of light.

Including but not limited to: Amuro and Lalah's Newtype encounter, Zeta's super armor and hyper beam saber fueled by Kamille's pure psychic power, Haman and Scirocco dueling psychic energies, Zeta summoning dead Newtypes' power to immobilize The O, Scirocco cripping Kamille's mind, ZZ's going full TRANS-AM and generating a hyper beam blade out of pure psychic power, Puru tanking an entire salvo of beams from Psycho Gundam Mk-II using her mind, Axis Shock, and of course the entirety of Unicorn and Narrative.
It's all nonsensical, but it's the right amount of extra spice to make things cooler^^

They know that letting people watch their Old Shows in TH-cam for Ad Revenue is a better route than Netflix or Amazon... The Caveat is that there's a time frame that some shows aren't available/are hidden..
I love this movie, its a great addition and prologue to Unicorn and i feel it helps cement how Newtypes are destined to, just like the Phenex, leave this planet until maybe one day return
You mean sequel to Unicorn. But yeah this movie was great for understanding Newtypes.
I think they mean epilogue. It functions more as a bookend to Unicorn than a true sequel.
There is a lot of left for the UC timeline. Given the unknown end to the Unicorn gundams I'd like to think the phenex ends up lost to space and time and the cores of the other two unicorns are perfected and turned into the Turn A Gundam and the Turn X.
Gundam Narative is an Epilogue to the Unicorn Stories...
UC Timeline as a whole is far longer than this...
Gotta love the Narrative Gundam and all its crazy attachments. Fking love that Dendrobium Stamen looking thing. I just love it when mobile suits attach themselves to these huge weapon packs. It's the same reason why I like the Meteor from the Cosmic Era timeline.
Erm actually, the dendrobium stamen thing is called the A-packs 🤓

Now this is the gundam animation that I enjoy and treasure.. smooth and NOT 3D in majority of the movie.
The victory-esqe pyscho light wings just give me chills. And they can just delete the Neo Zeong like that. Newtype powers are scary in a mysterious way
Whether its anime or not, You cant say that this movie's story isnt Beautiful.
One of the Very rare cases that a story could get me to tear up.
Sad, yet beautiful story taking place a year after an INSANELY intense war/race as seen in UC, further explaining the mystical nature of the Unicorn and its variants,
and most importantly a tragic story of friends, trying to find and bring home another, chasing the Phenex.
I cant get enough of this damn movie.
Jona's suit and Narrative's armor are removed at the same time, interspersing each scene as if Jona and Narrative are one, which is cool though
This movie was a way of animating certain concepts from the Unicorn novel that went unused in the OVAs

@@brianpatrickryan-dillon1148 the UC novel straight out tells you the Zeon Prime Minister is the man behind Full Frontal and the Sleeves and is untouchable and denies everything. He is absent in the OVA but shows up in this movie in a similar role: Mineva knows about his shady business but can't directly do anything about it.
The final battle in the UC novels had no Neo Zeong nor time travel visions, it was a straight Sinanju vs Unicorn battle where the former projects an evil Newtype aura and the latter is surrounded by the ghosts of those who died. Like Zoltan, when Frontal dies in the novel he gets the last word as ghost. (Char doesn't haunt him in the novel, and Banagher calls him an empty soul)
When Banagher blocks the colony laser in the novel, the Banshee isn't part of it, it's Alberto and the Jesta Tristars who help. In the novel they make it to space and are part of the final battle, one of the Tristars was killed previously during the battle against Angelo. So when they're all warned they're firing the laser, Banagher asks Alberto (riding a Base Jabber) to deliver him all the spare psychoframe parts, and he, the two remaining Tristars and the ECOAS guys help spread these parts around the Unicorn so that he can block the laser. Here, Michele does something similar from her Base Jabber.
When the laser is fired and Banagher loses his mind, he experiences a mind trip through time, not like the doomer retrospective Frontal shows him in the OVA, but as a "I see all of time even the far far future" acid trip. Then, we are specifically told the Unicorn absorbed his consciousness and evolved into a higher order of intelligence that decides to leave Earth and mankind behind, which is what happened to Rita. The Unicorn intelligence decides to give Banagher his mind back and shut itself down because it feels Mineva and Riddhe calling out to him. "The stars can wait, this guy is needed right now." This is just implied in the OVA through imagery, because the last scene is really short, but in the book it's drawn out while we read Mineva's entire speech.

Man rewatching this movie really makes me not understand the hate it got. Yeah its a bit all over the place but its themes are genuinely cool and stand out amongst alot of other UC content
I think it's more that Zoltan and the second Neo Zeong felt, to me, sort of ramrodded in there for not much reason other than to cause chaos. Zoltan always felt more like a petulant child throwing a tantrum to me than a serious antagonist.
I don't think it's all over the place. It was awesome. I'd like to elaborate but I'm to busy.
I think it's the general distaste towards Tomino's theme of 'Beyond the Time' in past installations up to CCA being interpreted as literal time travel and higher dimensions instead of being more philosophical.
I'm really glad this is finally streaming. My first Gundam entry was Iron Blooded Orphans and I remember at the very end of the last episode in Funimation, a trailer for this played. I first thought it was a calamity war thing but learned it was about UC, the main timeline. It put a seed of intrigue in me, I was captivated by the trailer but I was still too scared of UC's size to start it from the beginning, where its meant to be started... Some time later, I randomly found the song Cage, i thought it was an original by Sawano but was shocked when I looked at the comments and people were talking about Gundam. Even though I watched IBO, I still had preconcieved notions about the larger franchise, but I was deeply moved by the music and rationalized that Gundam must be something more inspired than I was giving it credit for.
Now, years later, I watched almost all of the early UC stuff and some of the AUs, I knew Cage was associated with Unicorn but since seeing it mostly in promo material and concerts, I only figured it was like a bonus track, not part of the actual OST since it never played in the anime. I always wanted to watch NT out of curiosity and to see the story from that trailer I saw so long ago, but BDs were always expensive and there was nowhere to watch it. I went in knowing it wasn't the best entry but nonetheless, when I got to the end I thought, "Oh... There you are..." when I heard those first piano notes of Cage at 1:20:10. I was moved, even though I didn't find the story of this film particularly interesting, I was still moved. I really love Gundam and how much there is behind all of it.
I like how this does show the OG unicorn Gundam scenes😊

When departing for Side 6 colony Metis, Zoltan refers to Side 6 as "The Side that's steadfastly maintained neutrality since the war". However, the monitor display in the Damascus shows that Side 6 is located in L5, meaning Metis is actually located in New Side 6, which was Side 4 during the One year War.
Hiroyuki’s Cage is too beautiful to listen to again after years i last heard this from the movie.
The love I have for Gundam knows no bounds.
Watching Banagher brings back so many memories. He has been one of my favourite main characters.

Great movie and great epilogue to Unicorn arc in UC, but UC is not over yet because Hathaway is the next and last one.
Two things that i don't really like in this movie:
1. Its about Zoltan's identity as a failed clone of Char Aznable, they could have just make Zoltan as someone who is very obsessed to Char and wanted to become like him but get rejected by everyone. Zoltan being a failed clone of Char doesn't make any sense as he doesn't inherit any of Char's face/hair color/voice/personality.
2. The story is so rushed and get repetitive with Unicorn vs Neo Zeong all over again.
Last? Not until they do F90 and Crossbone! 😆
The psycommu system development over the years is pretty interesting and it feels more like the memories and personalities are imprinted into the AI system with prolonged use but isn't the real person. This gives off a very ghost in the shell vibe.
Turn A Gundam is supposed to be the last series in all timelines and has weaponized nano machines that comes off as they are controlled by a perfected psycho system. The energy these machines (moonlight butterfly) give off looks very similar to what we see released from the psycho frames so maybe the nano machines keep the energy release in check and utilize it to either destroy enemies or heal the mobile suit. Its a fun concept to think about and the evolution of technology throughout all the series.
The nanomachines are from Devil/Dark Gundam from G Gundam...
That's the whole schtick of that thing...
Gundam having Nanomachines that's meant to revive Earth's Environment but goes haywire and ends up trying to off humanity instead...

Psycho-Frame: A technology uses a metal alloy that responds to human will, it has the ability to communicate with the dead, converting human souls into life energy and the key to eternal life. Anyway, that movie is six years old and it was still exciting. But the most memorable scene was the presence of Banagher Links wearing a tinted helmet visor near the end of the movie.
I wish Bandai would expand the scope of Gundam Universal Century.
It would be a good idea to include Clooney and the area of Mars, which extends from the area of Earth.

First time I watch a Gundam movie in the US theater.
This was honestly a really good, fun movie. The high quality animation and sound effects really make you feel you're in the middle of the battle. It has intense emotion, and drama. Even with all the whacky newtype space magic was quite the spectacle. 10/10 Gundam content.

Headcanon: You know how you have Super Robot and Real Robot genre, right? Gundam NT Narrative is the Federation and Zeon Remnants coming to the conclusion that they can't handle Super Robot shenanigans (Let's be honest. Stuff like what the Psychoframe does wouldn't blink an eye in any Super Robot Show) and would rather stick to Real Robot stuff where they can keep a shred of their sanity.

What timing. I just got home from my trip to Japan. Visited the Unicorn statue, and I can't explain the happiness that enveloped me when I saw it. It's one of my favorite Gundams and it was truly a magnificent experience. I want to go back.

很正常，那時看完unicorn ，再看這部一定覺得失望，但現在單看這部是不會有這感覺
這部比較慢熟
比較屬於劇情類電影
這類的硬傷就是導演功力不夠了話，節奏、台詞只要有一點點不是很好就會讓人出戲
比較令人詬病的是麗塔那句："如果有來生了話我想變成小鳥"。 真的重複太多次了 而且語氣、聲音都沒有任何改變，給人一種廉價的粗糙感
不過自C裝備從箱子破出之後的節奏明顯就好很多，最後麗塔的台詞量有上來，加上主題曲好聽算是有救起這部

Since the first time I watched narrative, I can't stop claiming that it is the best media in the whole universal century franchise. It exceeds UC's own premise since the og gundam. Expanding it to the philosophies of newtypes and how us humanity should grow. Narrative has the best way of explaining it, while gundam unicorn and CCA behind it. I can't stop rewatching this film because of how this film giving me reasons to believe that life isn't all there is. It's crazy how a media that has the main reason exist to sell toys ends up making someone's life better. Thank you Tomino
The OG Gundam is good, it just happens that the graphics are so out of date.
