Hi Moose! You were not just fooling about when you said that your announcement would "throw most from the horse." I will admit to being incredibly surprised. If I admired your sand before, let me just say that your stock has just gone up in value! It just so happens that I became interested in narrow boating during the pandemic and have been following a couple of content creators who do continuous cruising on the UK canal system. I realize cruising a cut and sailing on the high seas are two different things, but the lifestyle has many similarities especially in terms of living in a tiny space. My point is that I am already primed for this kind of content, so there is a win for both of us. I know I am going to enjoy watching as you document this, your latest adventure. At this moment, a quote from Hunter S. Thompson seems appropriate: "“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming 'Wow! What a Ride!'” As always, bless you, friend!
Moose-I think a good motto for you would be a classic quote from JRR Tolkien, said about the character of Aragorn: “Not all those who wander are lost.”
Congrats on the new boat, she is beautiful. Well Moose, you certainly have already packed more adventures into you life than most people could ever dream of. We only get this one life, well unless you believe in reincarnation, but anyway, I think it’s great that you have such a free sprit. Best wishes for a safe and exhilarating trip. Be well and happy.
Moose! I'm glad to be back to your channel! You are one gutsy dude. Love how you continue to be inspiring and motivating with your life circumstances. Peace and prayers for you, brother. 👍
I'm so excited to learn you are back on board. And on a Vertue, a wonderful boad. Eastern seaboard is a wonderful cruising ground, especially Maine and Novi. (Be sure to install a heater) Kevin of HtSO (How to sail oceans) channel is from Maine, has done a circumnavigation, and sails his engineless, wooden 30 foot gaffer, Ruth Avery, between Maine and the Caribbean seemingly non stop. Another Mainer, Wind Hippie Sailing channel, has sailer from Maine to the South Pacific in her 27 footer with Navionics on her cell phone as her means of navigation. She spent the first 9 years of her life on board her parents' Cal 25 as they circumnavigated.
Wow Moose your life is like a whirlwind! you are a shining example of how to cope with adversity. and that is a beautiful boat too, I wish you luck on this new path to your life.👍

Bird country, as I call it. Aren't you thinking of making a stop there? I will be happy to watch your adventures. Good luck!
Moose, hope you are still checking comments from this older video. I switched computers and switched to Freetube and, somehow, didn't get your channel transferred over. I am so excited and happy for you to continue rolling with the punches and switching over to the boat life again. You are an inspiration to a lot of us for refusing to pack it in when you get dealt a bad hand. I wish you continued success and I guess I have some catching up to do. See you later.
Hello Roger, yes, I keep rolling. I will be leaving soon on my trip from St. Thomas to Key West. I expect it will take 10-15 days but I am looking forward to the adventure. Actually, I slowed a bit making videos so not much to catch up. I hope to increase the pace again on videos as I enjoy my community of viewers.
@@MooseHenderson1 Thanks for updating! Don't feel pressured to make videos unless you want to. The important thing is to enjoy your adventure in whatever form it takes. :-)

Welcome back and thank you. I will still be doing photography but using the boat as my home and transportation. It will be a return to homesteading, just in the water
Congratulations on beginning what sounds like a grand adventure! Be sure to do lots of sailing videos and take us along with you. I haven't really seen any sailing adventure videos, and it will be fun. PS--that boat looks like Moosevilla 4 to me!
Hi Moose wish you all the luck in the world. I know you’ve got skill but you will need a great deal of luck if indeed you take on this maritime adventure. I just want to add my voice to that of Grant Parnes urge you to think long and hard about what you might actually be getting into. I’m one of the fortunate ones that along with my wife, Carol, met you at Circle B Bar Ranch in Bartow Fl. I know you as an honest and genuine free spirit with great character traits. But I’ve also observed you to be one to bite off on occasion more than you can chew. This may be one of those times. Please evaluate and reevaluate where you are and where you going. Keep us posted.

Hi Marjorie, headed to see an opthomologist in states soon, no surgery possible as nerve damage but can sustain what is left. Leaving St Thomas in next day or so on boat, offshore sailing of 10-20 days
Hi Moose, after been a looooong time following your channel and patricipating at what you show us of your LIFE, it seems to me that this is a straigt line between wide guardrails: you are living your Live "I do it my way" with a lighthouse in front, not matter how the sea around shows up!. I share concern about the heat but this is the primary direction of the winds, west. If I suffer, then I can head north but I do not fancy a circumnavigation via the northwest passage. Also, Cape Horn might be a bit more than I am ready to tackle, at my age.
@@MooseHenderson1 I understand. I think that what you are going to do is immensely courageous and wonderful, and thank God you are not venturing through Cape Horn 🙂🤗🙏💙💫
@@thegroundedstarseeds There is a book, "My Old Man and the Sea" about a father and son that was in same design boat as mine that did the horn. So, the boat can take the trip but I am not sure I could at my age.
Wow. How exciting! I don't know anything about boating, besides canoeing and the inflatable type, lol... so this will be interesting. I wish you the very best, Moose!
You know we all care about you so much and love you and want to see you happy. This terrifies me for you. I live on the Florida coast on the ocean and every year there’s a boat wreck with lost souls. We just lost 3 young men to the ocean and some of their wreckage washed ashore near my home. The ocean has become more hostile the past several years. In addition to this, there is also the real concern about modern day pirates. Not sure if you’re aware of the missing boating couple who were sailing, presumably because of pirates. The ocean is a beast due to nature and two legged predators. Be careful.
All very true. Land is not much better will high crime rates, traffic accidents, etc-yes I heard about the couple in Grenada. This made the news because it was newsworthy, hundreds die every day of crimes in our cites and few make the news. We must all be careful but still live the life we choose.
My vision continues to decline, eventually I will need to get a rocking chair but trying to live as much as possible before going blind. My days of driving are pretty much over but I can still see big ships and such
Yes, all is well. I have been taking a break from videos after a few very negative comments on last video. I try to roll with the punches but, at times, I loose heart and decide to stop making the massive effort to put out a video.
@@MooseHenderson1 I suppose that’s a risk with the TH-cam endeavor. I wish some people understood you’re a real guy living his best life, not some internet actor running a script. Totally understand laying low. My feelings were hurt for you. I personally wish I was more like you living in the moment, not tied to a desk watching someone else do it. It does give me courage to know there are real people out there doing it. Are you back in the islands yet?

Hi Moose, You sure aren't in Wyoming anymore- or Michigan! I have to keep up! What a very beautiful boat she is with all of that wood. I love old classic things rather than the new things made these days. Same goes for houses- nothing compares to the old Craftsman or Victorians. Cling to Jesus always, especially on those waves. 🌊🙏
Wow Moose you're back on the water. Good for you. Nice boat you have there. It sounds like your plans are well thought out. I'm wondering whether you can fish during your trip to supplement your food intake.
Dammit Moose me thinks you finally gone and run yourself out of road, anyway best of luck to you, that little boat and your new life a sailing the oceans waves.
You are too funny. It reminds me of the weather saying for some places. If you don't like the weather wait a little while and it will change. If you don't like what Moose is doing, wait a couple months and Moose will change what he's doing. When you got the camper I thought about asking about buying it when you got tired of it in a few months. I guess I should have. The thing is that you go all in on whatever you are doing and then you make a complete change. For example, your shed with a roll back roof for your scope. I'll ask you now about buying your boat in a few months but I'll need you to explain how to sail it. Good luck with your sail boat.
wow, this is so exciting Moose! I admire you for living your life your way and fulfilling your personal dreams. I know nothing about boats, so as usual, I learned so much from this video today as you explained the boat and its features. carry on Moose, the adventurer ...I look forward to the journey 🥰
Mr. Moose, "someone has to say it, so I volunteer! We met your fiancé, then that fell through, we saw you move and now you have moved yet again, we saw you build an observatory only to never use it and sell your equipment, we met a dog that came with a woman, and that appears to have been a sham, we meet the casita which has now been sold and on and on and on with countless other ideas and dreams. I personally think you need to take a long slow meaningful look at what you are saying here in this video. In your journey across all of these oceans you failed in this video to mention the more important thing than food and water and that being WEATHER. Your boat is not big enough my friend. Gilligan's island was filmed in Hollywood studio that you are unfortunately in sever lack of when you head out across the ocean. This is a terrible idea if actually acted upon. The commenters here, saying, "what a great idea" need to be a little more serious to what you are saying you are about to do and treat you like the person we have all come to love and want to see happy. But this is not it my friend. OR................in 6 weeks we get a new video saying you sold the boat and are moving back to Wyoming? Beyond my seriousness here, I personally deem you officially the "most interesting man in the world", just don't want to read out you in some international coast guard rescue operation in the Indian ocean that ends in tragedy.
I respect your words. However, I did not try any of these ventures without 100 percent effort. I put 13000 miles on the Casita from Arizona to northern Canada; I sold it because it is dangerous for me to be driving on the highway with others at night. I built an observatory and never had clear skies in northern Michigan. The woman with the dog was a mistake but not one that was my fault, other than jumping with both feet without taking time to see if she would stay the course. No boat is big enough for severe weather, big ships are sunk by weather. One must understand how to heave too in the boat to ride out the weather, not run from it. You will never hear I called for help from the coasties, I believe in taking care of myself of suffer my own problems.
@@MooseHenderson1 My friend......................I hate seeing you "suffering your own problems" time and time again. You need some consistency in your life. Perhaps your head and your heart are out thinking and out beating your actual abilities. Because you cannot see to drive does not mean you head out into the ocean in a boat meant for day sailing the bay. I have seen this behavior from you way back to the day you worked at the True Value or was it tractor supply in Afton Wyoming. You have more personal inspiration in your little finger than most will have in a lifetime. I have a house in Idaho just across the mountain from where you had the tiny house and when I heard you were leaving, I almost tried to contact you and say, "go stay at my house", as no one is there since I live in Texas. But I was silent. Then when your loan fell through for the piece of land in Maine, I thought about contacting you and loaning you the money..........but honestly, you're so "all over the place", I had not fully put 2 and 2 together YET. At this point, failing eyesight as far as driving a car does not grant you a hair brained idea like sailing the oceans. Plumb ludicrous. I halfway wonder if you could find some really cool game ranch somewhere and do your photography, live there, feed the animals, do odd jobs, draw a paycheck, frolic, be a crucial member of the team without losing your life to Poseidon by heading off to Australia in a boat meant for nothing even remotely close to what you have planned. Find one of those quail plantations in northern Alabama or gator farm near the everglades and do your thing. Winters are brutal, but an Elk farm or Bison ranch in Montana or Idaho would be a perfect match for you and your ability to work hard and provide a great backdrop for photography. I could go on for a week with ideas for a live in, no driving type place to call home. The ocean is not your friend.
@@grantparnes the boat is not a daysailor, she is a proper ocean vessel. She has crossed the Atlantic and a sister boat circumnavigated via the horn. I appreciate your ideas but I prefer to spend most of my time alone, not as a hand on a ranch or other situations involving groups (large or small)
@@MooseHenderson1 Well I cannot argue with that. I 100 percent agree with the alone part and don't blame you one bit for feeling that way. Stay safe and don't forget to take better care of yourself than you think is necessary. Full sails bud.

more changes then anyone. can't wait for the june video where you sell the boat and move somewhere else
My vision continues to decline, eventually I will need to get a rocking chair but trying to live as much as possible before going blind. My days of driving are pretty much over but I can still see big ships and such
This is so cool! I too have been considering boat life as an option for the future so am excited to see how you fare.
You can do it! Let me know if I can help in any way
On to the next adventure!
Congratulations!
Thank you!
Hey Moose, just checking in. Hope things are going well for you and you’ll be off on another adventure soon.
Yes, all is well. I have been taking a break from videos after a few very negative comments on last video. I try to roll with the punches but, at times, I loose heart and decide to stop making the massive effort to put out a video.
Please keep at it Moose. Looking forward to this great adventure!
@@deborahlh7747 thank you
@@MooseHenderson1 I suppose that’s a risk with the TH-cam endeavor.
@@melissadimoush8196 yes, I have been sweating in Margaritaville for nearly a month now. I have pieces of a few videos, just need to put them together and post them.
SHE IS A BEAUTY!
Yes, home sweet home
The name Tegra means “time of grace” or a good time. It originates from South Africa. I like the name. It’s a nice boat.
Great to know, good name
Best of Luck!
Thanks
Absolutely exciting and so happy for you. I am planning on doing the same thing soon.👍
Go for it!
Good luck buddy i was hoping to see you in the Teton again someday! But doesn't sound like tetons are in your future anytime soon! Best of luck to you.
Jeff, Contact me if you wish to purchase canon 600 mm at wholesale price at moosehenderson@yahoo.com, need to sell quickly as little room for this beast plus tripod, wimberkey, etc. if not it goes to MPB.com soon
Hi Moose,
You sure aren't in Wyoming anymore- or Michigan! I have to keep up!
What a very beautiful boat she is with all of that wood. I love old classic things rather than the new things made these days. Same goes for houses- nothing compares to the old Craftsman or Victorians.
Cling to Jesus always, especially on those waves. 🌊🙏
Yes I am!
No responsew required. Good Luck dude, comment for the algo...
Thanks
God speed Moose.
Thanks
Wow Moose you're back on the water. Good for you. Nice boat you have there. It sounds like your plans are well thought out. I'm wondering whether you can fish during your trip to supplement your food intake.
Yes, I can and hope to catch a little something
The adventure begins, I envy your ability to make life changing decisions.
Helps when you are single and free
Dammit Moose me thinks you finally gone and run yourself out of road, anyway best of luck to you, that little boat and your new life a sailing the oceans waves.
Long road ahead
Hiya Moose! If you want to see some beautiful places, come visit me on Terceira island in the Açores ! Love your new videos. You never give up! 🎉
That would be awesome but I have about 28,000 miles to cover before I come around to your area, but will keep it in mind
Quite a change. Is the boat a wooden hull? Are you going to get star link?
Yes, it is cold molded epoxy on wood, No to star link
You are too funny. It reminds me of the weather saying for some places. If you don't like the weather wait a little while and it will change. If you don't like what Moose is doing, wait a couple months and Moose will change what he's doing. When you got the camper I thought about asking about buying it when you got tired of it in a few months. I guess I should have. The thing is that you go all in on whatever you are doing and then you make a complete change. For example, your shed with a roll back roof for your scope. I'll ask you now about buying your boat in a few months but I'll need you to explain how to sail it. Good luck with your sail boat.
Thanks
Did you sell your van, pray you will be happy, take care😮😊🇱🇷💜

Are you going to upgrade your tech for the trip to French Polynesia? Like with a satellite phone?
In the past ten years, I have made four phone calls so not planning to get a sat. phone, I am just not a big fan of talking on the phone.
@@MooseHenderson1 i was thinking more for emergencies if you are out of vhf range.
@@jmpattillo I am responsible for my own emergencies.
wow, this is so exciting Moose! I admire you for living your life your way and fulfilling your personal dreams. I know nothing about boats, so as usual, I learned so much from this video today as you explained the boat and its features. carry on Moose, the adventurer ...I look forward to the journey 🥰
I refuse to sit in a rocking chair and die
I hear ya!!!👋👋👋🥰@@MooseHenderson1
Are you sailing solo?
Yes
Did you sell your truck?
Sell to Carmax in three weeks
6 weeks? My guess is the next video he sold the boat and is on to God knows what.
Can't keep an old sailor off the water.
Very true
Wow! This is so exciting! I knew nothing about out boats and am already learning new things!
Are you going to continue to sell your photography prints in some fashion?
