Columbia alum, here. This brought back so many amazing memories of being on this amazing campus. Some of the most formative and crucial years of my life!
@@yellow-cherry74 You're welcome. :) Obviously, I made that comment before the worst of the bullshit treatment of students happened there recently, but I hope you pulled through it okay!
hey! thats such a big compliment, i actually really need to improve in my camera stabilization which can be hard to do when filming w one hand so I rlly appreciate your view and tysm for watching :DD
hi! tysm for your feedback and compliment. i enjoy editing but on a separate note I will definitely try to improve my camera skills in the future lol xD
hey! tysm for commenting. i actually did the same thing (i wasn't accepted as a first year applicant) definitely just make sure and i tell this everyone that when you submit your app you feel that you made it the best version you could have possibly created. it's definitely possible !!

Hello, Thank you so much for that video. It is a great insight into what I can expect at Columbia (if I got admitted)😂🤓 Also… based on your experience: Are there lots of international students that are not native English speakers? Is it hard for them to follow the class and take notes? I am really worrying about that. I was also homeschooled almost entire high school and I am suffering from social anxiety (it is not very terrible but I have big troubles with speaking in front of others or participate in discussion based classes). Are students require to speak a lot? From this video I can infer that core curriculum classes are rather small so I wonder whether you are required to join the discussion? Thanks in advance for answering those questions🫶 it would mean a lot.
hi tysm for watching :D to answer your q: international students make up a big % of student population (maybe like 10-15%?) and many of them are not native english speakers. however, they are able to speak english fluently to a degree. i dunno how it is for them to take notes and listen in class, but i think if you are still worried, students are able to talk to professors for some kind of informal accommodation (like recording lectures and posting them, etc.) but i would encourage you to practice your english as much as possible b/c english is the linga franca and the university expects you to alr know it to some degree (that's why international students take english proficiency exam for admission) also, for the speaking in front of others... you are expected to participate in discussion based classes to some degree. it depends on professor's participation policy (some can be chill and others rlly want you to talk) but your participation can affect your grade so yes: unfortunately it is expected for you talk a bit in class. not like every class session but maybe once in a week or something (unless noted by the professor otherwise). i hope this helped. lmk if you have more q's! im happy to answer them :)
Amazing video! Loved the quality editing. I have a couple questions. What is campus life like, and what are you majoring in? Currently I am considering Columbia.
hi! thank you so much for your comment :D lets see, i'm majoring in sustainable development and i would say i really love campus life. there are so many passionate people which leads to so many niche clubs and groups (like if you like board games, there's a board game club, cooking, there are several food/cuisine clubs, identity clubs, etc... there's even a circus club i think lol) i also do admire our campus student protest initiative. it's been a hard semester because of what's happening around the world but students never stop protesting for things they believe in and while I don't believe it's unique b/c students of various uni's protest nationwide, it's a deep/inherent quality in columbia's campus/student life history that is very special and powerful
Hello, you made me very excited to study in Colombia. I loved it very much, especially when I went to the pre-college program in Barnard. I would like to apply for it. Can you review the essay? I will be grateful to you, have a nice dayyy,

wow that's really amazing you have a degree in music I haven't met many who do. honestly, i kinda wish i had more proclivity for it b/c i had a really positive experience in this class and from my impression, it seems like music major classes feel more creative and discussion based (which i prefer) than any STEM-related major classes xD
