I found you through fridaysews; just what I need is another sewing vlogger to get hooked on but I'm glad I found you. I have fallen in love with Tina Givens patterns.
Thank you for all the tips & tricks you share with each video you upload, I'm watching ATM in Melbourne, Australia, & we"re going through our summer (it was 32 degrees C yesterday, which apparently is 89.6 F) so enjoy the cold while we sweat it out : ) There were a few minutes where we couldn't see what you were doing, but thank goodness you explain everything so clearly 👌 T4S 😎
Yeah sorry about that I’m still getting used to my new camera I will try to remember to adjust the lens BEFORE I do a section 😂 thanks for the feedback it’s important to me!
Okay, that's another one on my 'To buy' list. Although, to be fair, I did like it a lot when I was looking at her store. -12C is flipping cold! We've had some severe snow (for my area) and got 10 inches of snow in one night. Normally we don't even get an inch! So it was a shock to wake up to all the white stuff. We've been having temperatures of -7C. So not a lot warmer than where you are. I've made a start on filming and I really envy you. You feel so natural in front of the camera. I feel like I was stuttering and sniffing all the way through. I'm just editing it right now. For good or bad I also signed up for a video challenge with a group on facebook so I have to have a finished make by the 31st March. I figured I needed some sort of deadline to actually get myself doing.
My in-laws are in Memphis and the had an ice storm! That never happens there! Great idea to do a video challenge. Don’t Judge yourself too harshly I always feel like I’m sniffing and stuttering my way through a video too. Someone told me the key to doing a video is to just do it! I look forward to seeing yours! Good luck!!
Very cute dress! You really make sewing look so simple. This may be a silly question but do you do all your sewing on a serger? Or do you machine stitch and go back in with the serger to finish?
I sew everything on my regular machine then serge the edges to finish. in some (rare) cases I will serge around the edge of my fabric first then sew all sections together on my regular sewing machine. The exception to this is with knits. if I’m sewing a knit fabric I will sew the whole thing with my serger using four threads instead of only three which is what I use to finish woven fabrics.
Looks great, love the colour. Am going to make the arm hole higher on TG Macey, as I know what you mean by restricting movement, the back ends up sitting on my ever expanding posterior (butt) when I move my arms, which is a bit annoying.
Thank you for your tutorial. I purchased this pattern least Summer...now I have a great see along to make it with. Do you think this would be good in a knit maybe heavy weight? ? Thanks for the sewing tips!
Yes! I think this would be great in a stable knit BUT you may need to size down in the shoulders so it doesn’t pull the seam down. Check the shoulder seam against the shoulder seam of a knit top that fits you well and adjust if necessary. Good idea to try a knit I think I might do that too!
Thanks Phyllis! I LOVE this sweater. Yes there’s a pattern: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/morning-waves-cardigan Let me know if you try it. It was so fun to make 😊
I love this. So nice to see what styles I like.
