More Purple Kiss! So excited for their upcoming comeback. memeM is one of the songs that I have listened to the most this year (I think only one other song can beat it). Each of their title tracks have been quite different from each other. I look forward to you checking out Ponzona and the music style they brought with it. It was such a killer debut and the "Purple Kiss Hide On Bloody Top" part is a reference to that song. I think you will enjoy digging into the lyrics. The guy at the end is cYa of Onewe. On top of helping write this song, he appeared in the story videos for memeM as well, where he was a victim to them as witches trying to change his memories (so the memeM takes place in his head as they doing the rewriting). I'm curious to see if he will make a return for their next song. This was the second zombie related MV that was released last year, as about a month before Sunmi released "You Can't Sit with Us". Not her best song, but the music video is so amazing. Yuki's raps are amazing, especially when you consider the fact that she is Japanese so she isn't writing the lyrics in her first language. That is Swan in the middle. Swan's fire adblib with the heart gesture absolutely kills me in this music. Such a beautiful voice. Between her voice and Yuki's rap it is hard to pick a bias. Not to mention all the other qualities the rest bring. If you react to Ponzona, I certainly have more to talk about with Swan then. I will leave you with one suggestion. Check out the Hallowen performance version of this. On top of being an excellent remix, it will show a different side to them as zombies.

I had this song and the entire album that came with it on repeat for months after it came out. Purple Kiss is quite special to me because they were the first group I followed from pre-debut. Right around the time when I got deeper into this genre, they were starting their pre-debut activities. So this was also the first time I was proper excited for the debut of a new group.
This was a shock to most fans when it came out 🤣 so cute and poppy but I was amazed at how they just had to include dark themes in the video. Also their first pre-debut single My Heart Skip a Beat is similar to the type of music Dreamcatcher does. Swan was on hiatus during My Heart Skip a Beat so there were only 6 of them in that performance video. I think you would enjoy checking out their 2 story films the released leading into Memem. It's kind of like how Aespa has been putting out 20 minute short films except these are only a few minutes each. They've just dropped a story film prologue and will be releasing 2 more story films this week leading into their comeback at the end of the month.

The story in this MV is always fun to watch They're going on with their night life together having fun and pranking each other in the middle of the apocalypse, while they're preparing to meet the human guy at the end (you can see in the beginning his picture on Swan's phone), like it's gonna be a date or something (maybe dinner) And when they're all ready and holding presents that a zombie would love, they knock on his door only for him to face 7 zombies offering him brains

If you check it out, be sure to watch it on MAMAMOO channel: "[MAMAMOO] 1CM의 자존심", because that one has subtitles. It is a cheap B-side production, but FUN. For the reference, at that time, Wheein was 159cm tall, Hwasa 160cm, Solar 161cm and Moonbyul 162.8cm. It would be very clear very soon why this is relevant.
Based on your taste, I bet you'd be interested in purki's performance video for Pretty Psycho ( th-cam.com/video/wUuruvYbp14/w-d-xo.html ), which was a b-side to memeM but maybe should have actually been a title track, and also their pre-debute MV Can We Talk Again ( th-cam.com/video/JSHL-YTxRZQ/w-d-xo.html ). Not only are the songs great, but the lyrics to the songs are pretty dark and the members offer very interesting performances in the videos.
It's a fun song and the girls are adorably weird in the MV but it's one of my least favorite PK tracks. I'm allergic to disco even when it's blended creatively so that's just my taste but I got a wft face when I noticed parts of the song had been regurgitated from Solar's Honey. RBW's Kim Dohoon co-composed both songs so he was reusing his own ideas rather than plagiarizing someone else but it's still pretty lame. He's too good and too prolific of a songwriter to be that lazy so my guess is they were under a time crunch to record the song.
