I was watching test kitchens of America and they said to put three bananas in the oven wait until they're nice and golden brown take them out and add it to the custard once you whip it up in the custard you'll get the true banana taste that's how I've been making my banana pies
Martha had another later episode making this pastry cream/custard where she combined ALL the ingredients together then heated it up -- NO need for the tempering step. She said it tasted exactly the same. I've been doing this "combine all at once" pastry cream for years and it always turns out great and it's much easier not having to deal with that tempering step.
Martha, the somebody that figured bananas could be shipped then unripe was a sea captain named Baker from Wellfleet Massachusetts. His history is fascinating
Rather than maple syrup, my guess is.. Kayro Syrup. Like, or dark. My preference is always light. Don't forget a pinch of salt. It enhances the pecan flavor
4:04 you educate us Martha. And guess what. We are all 🍌 bananas about your divine cooking skills. You are one of a kind. 5:055:45 the perfect cut I do the same

dear, Martha i would like to ask something. im unsure if ill get either done. ive had little friendships over the years. its hard for me to invite others in my house for some reason. and im a bit of an introvert at times. ive worked alot and felt it hard to find the time and to convince myself to be more outgoing in inviting others over. the question im thinking of is. im wanting to break the ice by maybe running into my neighbors. i live in an apartment setting. so im thinking making some foods or treats to give to them and possibly inviting them in my home. or just to directly invite them over to share the food ive prepared. or maybe inviting them over while i cook. i dont have a bar table setting so wed have to stand to be together in the kitchen. or else theyed be left in the living room and i in the kitchen. which would not be good for a nice conversation. so as not to leave them stranded in the living room what should or could i do. if you dont get a chance to answer back, ill understand cause i know you are a busy lady. i can also look it up online about how to entertain guests and etiquette. and ill do some praying about it.
Yeah…Martha can do all these southern desserts in her sleep. Her recipes definitely capture the culture of the south.
My mom made banana creme pie every Thanksgiving until her passing in 98. Gosh I miss my mom. She could of been a youtube star.
@Ansley loves to do art thank you 🌹

Super, 👍 danke,💌
Love Martha
Fix th sound mixing , her voice is only audible in one of the two sides of a headphone
😊
💕💕💕💕
🥰🤩
Your cooking is pretty though
I have to admit that
Thanks
But watch your messages
Sound mixing is terrible
😆 💕
Hey Martha
I don’t believe that you eat what you make
Yet you encourage people to eat and finish them quickly
That’s very absurde
,
Too thick, Martha...Southerners like a pie to flow a bit. Same could be said of the spoon bread -- lighter!
❤️❤️❤️
