When I was 12 years old I bought my first rifle a Remington 514 boys rifle a very short barrel 22 single shot. Sixty five years later it’s my favorite 👍

I have sorted through at least 10 crates of Russian SKS in my lifetime and an equal number of Mosin Nagant. I wasn't a collector and passed on at least 10 1949 dated Tula SKS for $150 CAD. I did heavily promote them as investments to others. $200 Ljungmans (I had a three digit serial 1943), $100 Mosin Nagant rifles........I feel old ......

Sad to think about how not even 10 years ago it was almost a ritual to receive your pal in the mail and head directly to Cabela's to pick up your SKS and crate of ammo for under $500

A right of passage. Now 700$ gets you a shooter grade sks, and 419$ for a Chinese spam can

@@barelytactical900brother. You guys talk too much about money. It's the only thing that's not fun about your channel. You can make content that doesn't cost money too. I'm frustrated by the amount of Canadian social media dudes that talk about the economy and these temporary bans like they're permanent. You've got a really great channel. You only require a slight adjustment in your perspective. Life is beautiful and nothing Ottawa does can make that untrue. We will win in the end. Stat cool man ✌️😎

Every Canadian should have a Cooey in their house as part of a family's tradition.
Yep a box of 300 sav for intance is going for around $80 for a 20 round box on the west coast and the cost of components for handloading is just gone crazy.
Awsome to see you guys back, Cheers 🍻

Great video, as always, keep it up!
I used to have an SKS. Got rid off it last year, since ranges near me do not allow steel-core ammo anymore.
I am still nostalgic and want to get one of those "newer" ones, maybe. But if I rely on brass-cased 7.62x39, I don't know if I'll be able to digest the money spent per range trip. It's on par with FMJ .308 ammo.

    I have 2 Swedish mausers in 6.5x55.
One off them is the original m/96 and the other one is made in to an hunting rifle.
And i live in sweden so maybe it’s different but one box off 50 rounds coat around 50 dollars here. And I don’t think thats too bad. It’s hollow point but still. It dose the job when you just want to shoot for fun.

Good honest video. Great job! I would like to point out that .410 has not gone the way of the dinosaur. Still a viable bore for small game. It's more common than the 28, 16 & 10 gauge shotguns. The current issue is finding ammo which is around but not abundant and very pricey. The same goes for 20 gauge as well. 12 ga is still your most versatile and cost effective bore of shotgun. As for Turkish shotguns, most of them are well made and function very well (though I have only handled one Turkish semi, the rest were all pumps and one revolver)....better than any Remington 870 Express I have ever handled. Most, if not all Weatherby and Winchester shotguns are now made in Turkey and most break action are made in Brazil (if not Turkey). Mossberg and Remington, I believe are the only shotguns made in the U.S. and aside from Beretta, Benelli, Franchi and a few other Italian makes (excluding very expensive European made units) they are pretty much made in Turkey and Brazil.
Good choice for first 5 guns, though I would have slid a .308 in there instead of a .270. Great job and looking forward to more videos from you guys. 👍

We couldn't decide between the common rounds, 308, .243, .270, .30-06. whichever fits your application better :-D

are you even allowed to shoot rifles like these in fields in ontario? i thought rifles were illegal to shoot, unless at a range of course.
