    Just bought 100 shares. Will check back in after a year.

      Checking in once a year once we invest with conviction seems to be the right cadence

    I’ve been watching the stock for a long time what have changed in the last few years besides the $20 price?

    Question for you. How does one identify what % of the company is publicly traded?

    • @joepiv
      @joepiv 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question. It's called "float," and this definition from Bankrate is pretty good: A stock float is the total number of shares that are available for public investors to buy and sell. It may be expressed as an absolute figure such as 10 million shares, or it may sometimes be expressed as a percentage of the company's total outstanding shares.

      Cheers for that Tomasz. Every video we produce is based on a research piece we publish first which usually takes about a day to compile. Sometimes we'll use multiple research pieces. We then select the juiciest tidbits and have the most sober person on staff go through them at the end of the day and record it.

      Hi@@joepiv ,
      Quality of your videos - the scope, their narrative flow and your occam approach are so good that your channel and service are recently my
      favorite entertainment. Beside financial aspect I feel like your channel is just a really good source of science / engineering topics to look into - even better than ScientificAamerican :-P You use tech market as a topic source and it is probably the best bullshit sieve which we have.
      That is why I'm "slowly" moving towards premium sub to support your work... and to gain access to some more spicy pieces ;-).
      Thanks and please keep up good work!

      Really appreciate all that feedback Tomasz. It helps to understand what viewers find valuable so we can maintain the same trajectory. Saying things how you see them seems to be a vanishing method of communication, and that's critically important. You have to say what you think and believe if you want to be impactful in any organization in the midst of competent people who respect others who speak their minds. When it comes to tech, we're all nerds by heart and love the stuff so that helps :) Thanks again for the encouraging words.

    Put in a nutshell: in a downtrend don't be a hero, don't hold anything, get out, wait for the dust to settle, may take a year or more for a stock to bottom out, and THEN come back. I'm sure those who sold above 100, above 50, 40,...know what I mean.

      Trying to time the market is tough for many investors. What about just dollar-cost-averaging down over time?

    • @bluejackscanada
      @bluejackscanada 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly. People that think they can time bottoms and tops, just have not been investing very long.
      Experience says to dollar cost average., especially during times of fear.

    Insider trading volume is very high . Also new products are pretty much the same platform revamped and for an academic account who spent on their chromium will not buy more of the same platform again. Not sure but the company seems out of breath for me and single cell genomics does not burn that much consumables anyway

    • @Nanalyze
      @Nanalyze  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the comment. Consumables were 85% of revenues last quarter with gross margin of 85%. If they can capture the TAM they say they can, it seems to be a promising firm. We don't pay too much attention to insider trading signals as they require a lot of context and individual examination.
