Hello I wish if someone could answer me why roots appear in physics equations , in other words , what does it mean to take the square root to a physical quantity ? Thank you
interesting question, it's really a philosophical one between the connection of mathematics and reality. A good way to think about let's say the square root of an area is would just be taking one dimension of a square which makes it. The square root of a speed would be similar but with..units of time also squared! : ) Units are an interesting concept and mathematics seems to be the language of nature. I doubt my response helps a lot but it is a very interesting question indeed. Thanks.
