Boy I love this build enough that I’d try to replicate it in my little minivan if I didn’t need to sometimes have space for a second person. I think you’re right on the bed/headboard situation…. Seems like that cubby shelf comes up to the perfect height. Thanks for sharing 😇
So cute and fun! I recently saw (or read), if in an emergency and you need to break a window to get out of your vehicle, pull out the headrest and use the the tips of the two metal adjustable inserts to break the window. I truly don't know if this is what they are for, or if it works, but thought I'd share just in case. Your shopping experience is so precious. ~ Diana
Great tip with the headrest. Would never have thought of that. Those little window breaking tools that you can carry on your key chain are supposed to work as well.
Holy cow, I have to say that is the best Promaster City build I have seen. Everything is so thought out, Lulu it is going to serve you well 😊. This van build has been a great series, I will be sad when it ends. I would love to see how you make your sheets, or just talk about the process. Great job!!

I just hung the jamaica picture on the cabinet, OMG I LOVE IT!! it will end soon but I am a tinkerer and a tweaker, and I'll always be new and improving things!! plus I have a road trip soon!!! it will be fun to be on the road again!! my wheels are spinning about the permanent cover for the foam and then the sheets. BTW, my lid for my instant pot fell off the holder and onto the floor, I thought I was buying a new one. But that lid is tough!! Thank goodness. One quick question, can you tell a difference with the insulation in the van when the sun is out??
hi Barb! I haven't noticed anything about the temperature in the van. I guess I haven't been paying attention. but it's always comfortable in there. I never feel any extra heat that isn't outside the van too. so that's good!!

I want you to know that it is exciting to me that you answer my comments. I know that when you get lots & lots of members you won't have time to answer us all. It makes my day when I get a response from you!!!! I am 80 yrs. old & I don't do much with "other" people. I am a very busy woman. I am buying a home & I have to do everything a man & a woman does to keep a home up. I try, but there is nothing I do that a man wouldn't do so much better. I cut a tree down this year (all by myself with a recip. saw, and did it) I think I told you that before! Then two great guys came over from the Church & cut two more down....thank GOD! Oh, they did such a good....I did a good job also!!!!! Your van is just beautiful! It is so bright & beautiful inside....everything you have done goes so well together & the colors you have chosen go so well together...just exactly the right splashes of color! It is bright, cheerful, extra room for your feet & just great! Have you thought about adding a small chain to support the door of the cabinet by the door when it’s open and utilizing the door as a table top. Really enjoy your van build, I’m currently building out my own Promaster City. Started working on mine about the same time.

For your passenger side upper hutch, I suggest that you use (as dooor pulls) towel bars that are as wide as the drop-down lids. That way you can hang longer towels on the top bar, and perhaps clip photographs or smaller dish rags on the lower towel bar. You’ll probably have to modify them, so they don’t stick out as far as a normal towel rack. Or maybe you could use very small wood saplings. That way you’re getting door handles and drying space. You could also have your guy router out of a dish rail on a piece of bottom door trim … thereby finding a third purpose for the handle, in that it would hold/display plates, books, etc. So essentially, you’re getting drying and display space on FRONT face of the cabinets. Maybe paint the lower dish rail with your red contrast color.
Thirft store a electric knife it can be used in many ways, add to tool collection. Plus it is so much easier to cut any foam- even your window foams and ceiling foam. Work smarter instead of harder!!!! Love it all!!!
Lulu!! First, you're a genius with space. And it's so realistic! All those expensive van builds make me roll my eyes because who is PAYING for that? And the waste if it becomes untenable is distressing. Your van can easily become just a cargo van if necessary. And it's not only practical, it's pretty :) Congratulations on meeting a viewer in the wild -- that's a very cool story. Thank you for sharing!

I love seeing all the ingenious little tricks that people use to customize these conversions. Get one of those wedge cushions so you can lay it down when sleeping or put it up for sitting

Amazing build!! Could you switch the fridge and your bins? Since you use the fridge only when you switch out the ice packs. Then you would have access to the bins inside. You always brighten my day Lulu! ❤

It looks like if you had raised the table that you set the cabinet on behind the driver seat that you could’ve use the door as a desk to write on or a table when you open it up but it’s not quite high enough the way you have it set up. Your van is so cute and practical. I love the leaf fabric wall❣️

It makes my day when I get a response from you!!!! I am 80 yrs. old & I don't do much with "other" people. I am a very busy woman. I cut a tree down this year (all by myself with a recip. saw, and did it) I think I told you that before! Then two great guys came over from the Church & cut two more down....thank GOD! Have you thought about adding a small chain to support the door of the cabinet by the door when it’s open and utilizing the door as a table top. Really enjoy your van build, I’m currently building out my own Promaster City. Started working on mine about the same time.

For your passenger side upper hutch, I suggest that you use (as dooor pulls) towel bars that are as wide as the drop-down lids. That way you can hang longer towels on the top bar, and perhaps clip photographs or smaller dish rags on the lower towel bar. You’ll probably have to modify them, so they don’t stick out as far as a normal towel rack. Or maybe you could use very small wood saplings. That way you’re getting door handles and drying space. You could also have your guy router out of a dish rail on a piece of bottom door trim … thereby finding a third purpose for the handle, in that it would hold/display plates, books, etc. So essentially, you’re getting drying and display space on FRONT face of the cabinets. Maybe paint the lower dish rail with your red contrast color.

Thirft store a electric knife it can be used in many ways, add to tool collection. Plus it is so much easier to cut any foam- even your window foams and ceiling foam. Work smarter instead of harder!!!! Love it all!!!

Lulu!! First, you're a genius with space. And it's so realistic! All those expensive van builds make me roll my eyes because who is PAYING for that? And the waste if it becomes untenable is distressing. Your van can easily become just a cargo van if necessary. Amazing build!! Could you switch the fridge and your bins? Since you use the fridge only when you switch out the ice packs. Then you would have access to the bins inside.

It looks like if you had raised the table that you set the cabinet on behind the driver seat that you could’ve use the door as a desk to write on or a table when you open it up but it’s not quite high enough the way you have it set up. Your van is so cute and practical. I love the leaf fabric wall❣️
