I love Yasharn so much. It inspired me to make a high power casual stax deck which I lovingly call "Selesnya, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Stax".
If Rest in Peace is destroyed by a spell, Rest in Peace will be exiled and then the spell will be put into its owner’s graveyard. (2018-03-16)@@louismunger8360
angel's grace does not prevent One Ring loss of life as it is not damage. John would've been at 0 life until cleanup when EoT effect of angels grace ends then die as a state based action.
AMAZING GAME! Awesome win by Zack. How incredibly satisfying it must've felt to completely wreck the storm deck's gameplan. Also that devastating move to blow up the Rhystic and Paradise Mantle, YIKES. I thought Alana for sure had the game after that hot start.
There are not enough adjectives in this world to describe how Zack's opponents must have felt. I have Ardenn + Tana of my own. It's absolutely disgusting. And I absolutely love beating the crap out of my opponents. Good ol' classic combat damage. And you know what is better than a hammer? TWO HAMMERS.
Zack: "John I would like to exile Silence with my Praetors grasp" John: "Okay" John: "For my turn I would like to play underworld breach" Zack: "In response I'll cast silence" John: Shocked pikachu
@Coulrophobia29 To prevent cheating, they likely had looked through the deck list on Moxfield or wherever they listed it and wrote down the card they chose. Then, a third party comes in to take it out of the deck.
Real talk about how weird Krark decks are. Also John dying to his mana crypt reminded me that when I first joined my playgroup, I had to argue about how mana crypt wasn't unplayable and the life loss was worth it. 😅
I think the game could have ended 1 turn earlier had he equiped the colossus hammer onto his commander rather than a 1/1, since the commander is a 2/2. otherwise a very good game.
crazy that a turn 1 nature's claim topdeck completely ruined the game for alana. the stax after didn't help either. i wanna see that grixis deck perform well, but it seems to get shut down pretty easily.
Angel's Grace doesn't stop the life loss from The One Ring, only damage. John should've lost as soon as his turn ended.
the end was the same either way.
I learned this the hard way losing to Tendrils of Agony in a tournament
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG But good to point this out because it may come up in the viewers games in the future and they will be confused.
I know what the next short on the channel is gonna be. What a chain XD
That Silence was beyond perfect; amazing heads up timing from Zack. Incredible play
9:45 this made me laugh so much. the dramatic pause was everything

Dockside can go love himself.
No treasures, no fetch lands, no phyrexian mana, no breach lines.
Staxnya
As the Archbishop of the 3Ball, your appreciation for Stax has my blessing
Rest in Peace's own replacement effect applies to itself when it's put into the graveyard from the battlefield, so it should've been exiled.
Are you sure? I dont think the card sees itself when its destroyed

@@louismunger8360Unless specified otherwise it sees itself get destroyed
You are indeed correct! Thanks 🫡
Hadnt thought about that one before. A second reason to use leyline of the void instead even though rest in peace is better 90% of the time

It was cheating either way.
The narrator / editor is the real MVP. what a game

I loved that. I run Ardenn/Tana and that got me SO PUMPED.
I'm glad to see Wandering Archaic putting in work and showing it can still hang in cEDH
It's in a lot of Kinnan lists. It'll have a home there for long time

Thanks for bringing back reading out the opening hands
The double cyclonic was just an Upheaval with extra steps ....

It exiles face down
@@christopherlapp4553 They're playing over webcam. How do you think John picked out the exact card Zack wanted?
@@Coulrophobia29how do you know they didn't find a proper way to do this? It's hard but possible.

The Archbishop of the 3Ball approves of this outcome
I have Ardenn Tana. It's such a cool deck and can play at most power levels without raising eyebrows lol
Mana Crypt is my MVP, it did so much damage to players even eliminating one
Wow nice game. Wandering Archaic was an all star. ❤❤❤
Ardenn is so fun, I love to see games with him
I'm very intrigued to find out how John went from 15 to 1 when he was attacked for 13.
@17:23 Yasharn still allows for cracking of fetches as it says nonland permanents
fetches require paying 1 life, which is stopped by Yasharn
@@mattishere31 my mistake I thought the nonland part applied to paying life aswell
That Noxious Revival fateseal was sick!
An incredible game, that Angel’s Grace was absolutely dope on the P Grasp 😮
That was pretty frickin good.

Copying every single instant and sorcery you cast the whole game is incredibly powerful. Enough so that people are willing to gamble 50/50s on it
Why the 2 wandering archaic triggers? I can’t find it.
Phantasmal Image entered as a copy of Wandering Archaic.
Why matt didnt destroy kenrith transformation?
Never underestimate yasharn

Why did alana cast borne there

All hail our Lord and Savior the 🐖🙏🏽
zack cant use treasures with his Stony silence and/or his yasharn in play.
And he didn’t
White stax is so strong
Yooo
I gave up trying to follow this game
Zack is playing my kind of deck
Stax mvp
Very well played by Zack
stax isn't dead, it's just boring AF imo
Twas a silly game
Did you guys ever consider telling your patrons not to play complete dogshit every week?
No, but we do tell our commenters to have a little class.
