I loved it man, recording, explaining, doing the mechanical work, awesome, all single handed, can’t be better than that.

My smart for two was making screeching sound over every little bumps I drove on. It seems to be coming from the rear so today got under the car to spray some silicon on joints and noticed the rubber seat which sits on the top of the rear coil had come off and was sitting at the bottom of the coil. Could this be the reason for the noise? Great video BTW.

Sure. The spring rotates a bit.

I tried to follow your method but just could not get the bolt off the shocks. I used an E14 socket with a 3/8 adaptor, It started to loosen up but then went so tight that my 3/8 adapter snapped. I think it's cross threaded. Now the bolt is out about 10mm and the car makes a thud noise over bumbs. Help. 😥

@@jasa198 try to get it back in, use penetrating oil an hour or two before trying. Heat is the next step, you can always loosen the shock up on top to change the spring.

@@randyzimmer All good now . In the end heated the bolt and it eventually came out . However stripped the E14 head . Bought new bolt from merc. Thanks for your help .👊

No wonder so many Smart Spring kits just offer the rear-only. The front is a spring/strut that is a pain to do.

Why do you change the springs 3-times per day? Do you race this car?

I was working on springs and shocks to stop the porpoising over bumps.
