MR2 engine must be something else😱 I might have been secretly hoping I could swap out the engine for something wild too but at the end of the day it wasn't going to work for my application.
Curious to know,… With you knowledge of smart cars chassis & body, would it be feasible to replace the with a Harley Davidson V-Twin engine? I’ve seen it done to a VW Beetle, & I thought it would look cool on a Smart for Two. Especially if the engine was positioned higher & a special clear rear hatch or door made so that you could see the engine from behind the vehicle. I think it would be ridiculously funny to do, & I think it would have a certain level of cool factor. Anyway any input from you would be awesome, thank you for your time.
Hi .. great video .. I was wondering if you have written guide I can use to remove my engine as well .. There are loads of many video's but your video is much easier to follow and understand.
Hi Seane. Unfortunately not but I can attest that it really is not very complicated. The list to consider is: fuel line, brake lines, water pipes and one wiring loom. Four bolts hold the whole sub assembly in place. Good luck, I hope you get right!
@@BroughBuilt .. thanks I shall try am converting a standard smart to a badass brabus :) .. I have accummulated parts over the years and now is the time to put it all together
This seems really cool. If I remember when i get older If i can do the same thing as you did with the mclaren but maybe a jaguar xj220 would be nice next to that(Ill most likely forget if i dont do it lol)
It is good to have you back. I cannot wait to see what kind of magic you will create in 2022.
Thanks Hendrik! Exciting stuff happening this year!
@@BroughBuilt Awesome!!!
I will be watching!!
😎
A pal has a Smart with an MR2 engine stuffed in it. It's hard to keep on 4 wheels. He also has a Smart Crossblade. Good luck with this project.

@@BroughBuilt The MR2 engine is too much. It's either doing wheelies or trying to tip on it's roof round the corners. Good for showing off!
Earlier today I was just wondering when you'll be back. Happy new year :D
Hehe. Jip, it was time to start the new year😁. Happy new year to you too Rachael!

Um the ignition cable you are talking about where does it plug?
The one at 4:22? It goes to the key at the gear lever

hello and thank you for this tutorial, how long did it take you alone just to get the engine out?Carl from France
Hi Carl. Took a few hours. Far less than you would imagine
So it sounds like the cause was never really confirmed?
Unfortunately. But it looked overwhelmingly as if the fuel line sprung a leak
I assume you also had to disconnect brake lines?
Yes. I must've neglected to mention it but there are two lines that disconnect on the left side of the body in front of the rear wheel.
Awesome work. We had one years ago, wonder if there was ever a fix for the gearbox change lag?
Haha! Yes that gearbox is terrible. Don't know if it is only in my head but when I shift gears manually if feels a smidge faster.
@@BroughBuilt yes the change on manual is quicker, I remember that. Actually awesome little commuters, just feels very weird driving in traffix
nope, there's still no fix in 2023

Im only 14 as of right now so i still have my ways to go.
Xj220 Nice you've got good taste! I hope you can realise it one day buddy!
