The questionable sign-stealer (Stalions) has not been with the program since after the Indiana game. Michigan didn’t need any extra to defeat the most difficult stretch of their schedule, and played most of those without Harbaugh on the sidelines. They will give it their best on Monday, and a good majority of the commenters here will go in to hiding.

I can’t disagree with your reasoning, but you cut me deep Mr. Klatt. I do think you left out one important factor for Michigan, ZZ’s replacement will now have a month of 1st team snaps and not a week. While his replacement might not be equal to having ZZ in the game, he certainly will be better than he was against Iowa. Sherrone Moore is an exceptional O-Line coach and I think the results may surprise you.

I'm a Bama fan, so obviously I have a fav here. Let's all be honest here, Michigan has played good football all year and is a very good team. Bama had a slow start, but it has improved as the year went along. This will be a tough, physical, and close game. Silly mistakes, big plays, and running the football are the keys. What nobody mentions is Bama wore out Georgia's defense. After 41 carries, Georgia was shot at the end of the game. Underrated physical running game. RTR!

If Alabama wins this game, it will not be about wearing out Michigan's defense. One of the reasons that Michigan has been able to dominate is that they rotate defensive lineman and linebackers throughout the game. A lot has been written about how few snaps even the top players have played because of the depth and constant rotation. If the game is close into the fourth quarter, I think the circumstances will benefit Michigan more.

Don't you think Michigan was just trying to protect their players in the Iowa game? All they had to do was win and they're in the playoffs they don't care who they play. They know they're gonna win. If Harbaugh “doesn’t want to be the story” why doesn’t he squash NFL rumors? I’m tired of this BS. No other coach is playing this silly game. If I were the UM administration I would set a deadline for Harbaugh to accept or reject a contract.
Trust me when i say Coach Harbaugh is focusing on Michigan vs Alabama. As is JJ McCarthy. 💯 % focus. Their is nothing more important. He will be at Michigan. Coach Harbaugh has said "i will be at Michigan as long as they will have me." Coach Harbaugh has buildt Michigan as the number one team in the country. Everyone is focused on the contract. Coach Harbaugh is focused on the game.

Let's not forget before he told his whole staff to pull off the biggest cheating scandal in college sports, the school was on the brink of firing him 3 seasons in a row. It's all a PR move. The school wants it to seem like they believe he's innocent and plan to keep him. Once he gets pounded by Alabama and the NCAA throws bug bombs in his office, he'll run off to the NFL before UM gets the death penalty. He's been abysmal at every stop of his coaching journey. He'll leave Michigan worse than he left Stanford and San Fran..

Bama has everything to prove this year as they been doubted all season and find themselves an underdog, scarely thats when they perform phenomenaly. Under Saban, Bama has played the #1 team 10 times, of that, they won 8! Theyve only been an underdog 4 times since 2015 they won 3 of those by an average margin of 17 points. Saban has also played in 7 CFB semifinals. His record is 6-1. Under Saban, Bamas post season bowl performance is second to none while under Harbaugh, Mich. is 1-6 in bowl games and has lost 6 in a row. The past is the past but experience matters when it comes to short preperation to play an out of conference post season game.

Your analysis was inaccurate, Joel. Michigan has many quality players. Michigan had more errors tonight than they did all season and still beat Bama.
The two biggest questions for me are.. can Alabama run the ball and is the Michigan defense as good as advertised or are they ranked a little high thanks to awful Big 10 offenses. Ole Miss helped to answer the Big 10 defenses question but we'll see if that carries over to this game. I think Alabama will try to be run heavy early on and take a few shots down the field. If they can't impose their will then they will have to be more aggressive which might be a good sign for Michigan.

People have doubted Michigan all year. Myself included at times.
But how many different ways can Michigan beat you?

Despite Alabama's mystique and Saban's coaching abilities. I still think Michigan is the better team.
Michigan plays to win and they don't need to particularly rely on any one thing in order to do so.
I love Joel's analysis but sometimes I think he has too many irons in the fire to truly be objective. Almost like a politician he has to think of his wide fan base he's built up through his media outlets which seems to affect his opinions at times.
I. E. he seems to be constantly grooming his comments according to how they might be received by his fan base.

I don’t know anyone picking UM and I live in the Midwest…I hate UM but I just don’t think it’s gonna be easy. The SEC looks so different compared to a couple years ago. People lazily assume “bama is bama” but I don’t know who they have that is so special aside from Milroe’s running ability. OSU’s wrs are better. tOSU, PSU, Iowa have nasty defenses with unique first round players. Harbaugh is as good an in-game coach as Saban. What is going to surprise UM so much? That Zinter injury will be big though

It has become apparent that Big Ten Defenses were overrated this year because of how bad Big Ten offenses were. Penn St Ranked #1 in Total Defense is on pace to give up 600 Yards to Ole Miss and Ohio St gave up over 100 Yards more than season Average against Missouri. Fully expect Tennessee to lite up Iowa and Michigan is in for a rude awakening. Not a single Big Ten Offense is ranked in Top 50 in Total Offense...
