What I want to know is why every single analyst is asking how Michigan can beat Washington when the completely opposite side of that question should be asked? Can Washington's defense stop JJ and Corum? Washington is about to get exposed. They've had 10 one score games this season and they're one dimensional without a fully healthy Dillon Johnson. Number one ranked defense vs an offense that has played reputationally abysmal defenses in the PAC 12. Michigan just swallowed Bama for crying out loud and this team was built to beat CJ Stroud and crew which was a far better team imo. The question is, how will Washington come close to winning esp with an awful defense themselves and a Michigan team that averages 30 points per game? Surely their run game clock control will limit Penix's opportunities to get that many points on the board. Michigan is unstoppable right now since they play so well as a team. 38-10 M
Michigan has the number 1 defense and 14 offense while Washington has the no 1 offense and 44 defense. The stats speak for themselves. Michigan will have no problem scoring so the question is can Washington keep pace? Michigan is also a brutal 4th quarter team. Can those big W linemen keep up all game and pick up on the stunt filled blitzkreig Michigan will bring? Penix will have 1 to 2 seconds less each play to read and throw and will be attacked from all sides. Michigan's secondary is elite as well. GO BLUE!

Michigan had the better resume. And it's not always who you play, but how you play. Michigan destroyed lesser competition and didn't even play a lot of starters in the 4th quarter. And Michigan pretty much had the lead against everyone they played. End result? Michigan held Washington to a single TD (which came on a desperation 4th down). Conclusion? Defenses still win championships.
Facts. Michigan wasn't even playing they're starters for 7 of their 12 regular season games because they were destroying everyone.

I’ll take JJ anyday over Pennix. If JJ was Washington’s QB - a team who primarily is a passing team, he would have won the Heisman in my opinion. JJ is a team guy like the rest of the Wolverines and played all season however was best for Michigan to win. When he had to pass he was excellent.
Some things I think you missed in your analysis before the game. Michigan had beaten Penn State, Ohio State, Iowa and Alabama. In four of their last five games, just ahead of the championship game with Washington. All except Iowa were ranked in the top eight and Iowa was ranked 13th. Michigan had the number one defense in the country. Traditionally the best defenses win championships. It turns out that Washington was held to 13 points and less than 300 yards total offense. It turns out that the bookmakers , who are more neutral than almost anyone else, look at the overall statistics and usually get it right. The only thing they did wrong was the pointspread. It probably should’ve been 9 to 10 points instead of 4 1/half. Otherwise they got it right.

Big10 fans know what's up -- we got three teams and no middle of the conference...it's all hot garbage after Penn State (at least for the past 10-15 years) ...we know this. Pac-12 fans are like delusional lunatics. Like, Oregon is a real football team. Some day USC will be USC again. Every once in a while Washington is ok. That's like 1.5 real football teams. Arguably the better resume -- Michigan ran up good numbers against trash teams early in the year, that's true, but they beat OSU (who would've won the Pac-12). They beat Penn State (who would've made a run for it). They Beat Alabama who also would've won the Pac-12. ... Washington squeaked by Oregon twice. Oregon is good -- that's impressive ...but Let's also remember Bo Nix played at Auburn where he was just ok ...didn't stand out against that level of competition... then he goes to the Pac-12 where he looks like a heisman winner all year. Now Michigan has handily beaten Washington.
Washington was good this year because they managed to reach the level of an ok version of what OSU is every year... That's like the only team Michigan cares about beating ... so, of course, it turned out poorly.

Nice try. 10 of Mich 15 opponents were bowl teams. Their last 6 games of the season were wins against #10 Penn State; bowl team Maryland; #2 Ohio State; #16 Iowa; #4 Alabama (the Rose Bowl was the real National Championship Game); and #2 Washington husky puppies. At the end of the season, when strength of schedule was readjusted for the reality of the 2023-2024 season, Michigan had the third toughest schedule in FBS. Those are the facts. 😂

Washington offense has played 3 top 20 teams in defense. Washington has also faced 5 better rushers stats wise than blake corum. Michigan has padded stats and havent faced a top 45 offense all year. WASHINGTON has ran the gauntlet, and Pac12 had the best conference this year look at who played quarterbacks in pac12 this year... Washington is going to expose michigan and washington healthy defense is going to suprise everyone.
