So she would’ve lip synced to these vocals throughout the tour to create the illusion that she’s singing live in her current (at that point) vocal condition

Tyler Mills singing doesn't work that way.. you are obviously not one. Blatantly obvious. Once A singer knows how they can now do it. She went from airy to chest to head and belting. Of course when they recorded it they don't put any effects or edited right away... if they are done recording that's the time they will make it better by adding effects. Like reverb to soften more the vocals (it's like airbrush in photoshop) etc.

This is a mix of original studio and TEOM pre-recorded vocals. Or just TEOM pre-recorded cuz its the same thing.
I love the rawness in clips like this. One of the reasons I love the butterfly acapella version, it's so raw (and she pours her emotions into every word). I wish she would do more vocally underproduced tracks like those, it's one of the things I appreciate about the emancipation album, (by vocally underproduced I don't mean to say that other tracks are vocally edited or auto tuned, I'm referring to stripped down songs where she doesn't worry about them sounding 'flawless' or 'perfect', ones where she just opens her mouth and lets her emotions soar. And I mention the emancipation album because I believe she tried to do a lot of them in one main take, like mine again and circles)

After listening to the album version and this, with a little pitch change, the performance on this vocal track is the same used in her 1995 Fantasy album. With carefully added fades and a lot of reverb, you can hide most of her raw raspy sound within the mix.

Do you know what I think has damaged Mariah's voice? Trying to sing higher than her natural range. She said she did it to make her songs sound better, but I think its strained her natural voice. I don't know why she doesn't create new versions of her old hits for her concerts. It would sound better in her current voice.

NO, Mariah's songs are still within her tessitura (in her prime at least). These vocally demanding songs would have been very damaging to her voice but we need to consider the fact that Mariah's vocal technique is great for the most part.
I think that if we go with your theory , her vocal deterioration should have gradually happened over the years - but no, the decline was abrupt from 1996 to 1997. I don't think it was the whistles either. Considering that it's still pretty much intact nowadays.
