    I am inspecting this very model when I get back to the Vermont area. Buyers ordered, should be in to the dealer about when I return. I'm super excited to see a Brinkley. Great video - nice format.

    Thanks for saying now much time you spend. I have seen home inspectors spend 90 minutes and say they were thorough. Great job taking care of your clients.

    I recently placed an order for the Brinkley G3500. Hopefully I will be taking delivery end of January. I will be doing my own inspection. I like to look at everything. I turn everything on and go through the motions. I take a flashlight and crawl into every nook and cranny that's reasonable. I already have a few tools that I will be using. It's my home, and I refuse to leave without a complete shakedown. In my honest opinion you should spend one night in the camper and use everything. Back when I purchased my 2018 850 Lance truck camper I spent the night at the dealerships lot that they have available for customers. I found that the furnace stopped working during the night. It was a faulty thermostat. I helped the technician troubleshoot the furnace and we replaced the thermostat. All was well. As an inspector you really do need to check everything. As you know a few hours could prevent a disaster down the road. I plan to video the PDI and ask all of the relevant questions. I want to see how everything works especially with electronic controllers. There's a long list for sure.

      Yes there is a lot to look at when Inspecting. It would be nice to spend the night and run the furnace or AC, depending on weather, I am not sure my clients would want to pay the price point for overnight services etc. Dealerships or private owners may not either. However, if my client agrees to hook the unit at a campground and asked me to stay the night and make sure everything worked, it could be arranged. I appreciate you watching and commenting. Best of luck with your G3500!

    I worked at RV assembly for 30 yrs. Was lead person for a few yrs at what we called QA ( quality assurance ) . Wouldn't purchase a RV from any lot that didn't have a PDI. ( POST delivery inspection ) .

      Thank you Brian! I think this format for making inspection videos works for me. It allows me to showcase my work and create good content from it. I made my quick connect way back when I went to school. A friend helped me make it.

    Great vid! It would be helpful to me if you could add a comment about things that you say work properly. That is, rather than just saying “properly” or “correctly“ what do each of those things mean within the context of the system you’re looking at? I understand that’s extra work, but I would really love to see it! You’re doing a great job, keep it up!

    Hi. I loved watching this video and learned a lot. This Spring, I plan to do a full inspection on my RV based on this video. I did notice that at approx. 9:05 of the video, it appears that the counter/sink area was shaking. Was it the counter or the entire RV? Has anyone heard about loose counters rocking while driving? Is it an issue?

    • @debsrvservices
      @debsrvservices  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much for the feedback. I looked at the video to see what you were referring to and it may have just been a glitch. The counters are very supported and firm. I haven’t seen anything like that while driving. However, some RV’s are not made as well and other things can shake loose. You never know in an RV😂

    Why not also take a multi-meter to the wires to make sure they are getting electricity?

  • @SpykersB
    @SpykersB 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Two questions: Is what you showed us the standard of what all rv inspectors are supposed to do?
    And did you check the plumbing connections to see if any flex tubing is being connected to Pex plastic connectors, as GD and several other manufacturers including Brinkley were spotted doing this at least a year ago or so? 🍻

    • @debsrvservices
      @debsrvservices  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, I am following what has been taught from getting my certification. I have added a few extra things as far as tools or some things I’ve learned from my tech experience. As far as the pex tubing no I did not check that. Interesting you pointed that out and I will make a note of it. Thank you!

    Deb, any comments on KZ connect quality? How about Jayco travel trailers as well, thanks. Some of these newer models seem nice, but are double of even a similar Jayco. $60,000 for a mid sized camper, too expensive, thanks

    • @debsrvservices
      @debsrvservices  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to inspect one. I do agree they are a hefty price. If you can find something used that was well cared for, that is the way to go.

    • @jerrytalley802
      @jerrytalley802 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Deb, I mentioned KZ connects because they seem to be a small company,more quality focused, but still fairly priced? I plan to visit their dealer 90 minutes away, to check them out. I really like our Jayco 263 RBs, but it is about 4’ longer than I wanted to pull, and weighs 1,500 lbs more than I wanted, lol.
      Have you done many Jayco inspections, if so, any comments on quality? Thanks

    So a question for you Deb. If you purchase a new RV, should you have it inspected before you sign on the dotted line, or after? Are dealers hesitant to let you inspect an RV before it is actually sold?

    • @debsrvservices
      @debsrvservices  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Have it inspected before and you can give a downpayment but you don’t want to take that RV until the inspection has been completed. 😊

    How much does an inspection cost???

    • @debsrvservices
      @debsrvservices  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It depends on the year, make and model of the RV. For instance, a class A starts around 1k. That includes travel, the inspection and the report. Some travel trailers are more like 500-600. Older models cost more because there is more work involved. Overall somewhere between 500 - 1500.

    Do you have a significant other that could help to limit the amount of work you have to do?

    • @debsrvservices
      @debsrvservices  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Yes, I climb on the roof and check all the seals for each component. I am a one woman team! I spend between 4-8 hours on each inspection.😊

    Who makes Brinkley?? Indiana or Oregon? Many names fold after years of producing garbage and start up again with new name...but it is the same junk. Like Grand Design or Outdoors RV of Oregon, they hit the RV shows like a Gem when new but within a year they compare with all of the Indiana junk. A buyer should always check the weight rating on the axles. A monster 5th wheel should have 3 axles. They shake apart on 2. Like the Liz-Paul cave in on the kitchen. That brake wire issue is backyard bullshit, to roll with that is insane. The RV transporter can deliver up to 2000 miles. The inspector that let that roll with a clump of black tape should be in another industry.
    OMG you are still so dreamy!!! Anyway, please get a pair of mechanic gloves, spend an extra dollar and get Snap on with rubber grip. When doing anything with the hitch you need gloves, better grip and the steel wont bite those BEYOOTAFUL hands of yours. Same while fiddling with tires, gloves at all times. Did you see the monster nail in the tire?? I did but it was difficult to looky at a tire when you are so dang Purdy!!!!! If you are going to use a creeper and slide under a used coach PLEEZE wear short boots with ankle support. Bumping into razor sharp steel flanges with your Yoga tenni shoes is not pleasant!!!!
    Great Video, thumbs up and shared!!!

    • @debsrvservices
      @debsrvservices  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you and Brinkley is Indiana but hasn’t been sold off at this point so they are still better quality. I hope it stays that way! I get what you are saying. I do need to get some gloves and I will consider boots too. I have really smashed my head into some slides a time or two as well. Haha. Thanks for watching and all the great comments!! 😊
