He is constantly fighting a variet of enemies, many of them powerful on a cosmical level, while Darkseid rarely fights anyone himself due to him not considering anyone worthy of his efforts. Darkseid solves almost all his problems with his army, and if it comes to a situation in which he have to but in personaly, he will just use his Omega Beans, which very few can survive. He rarely trow punchs and kicks around. In other words, Darkseid lost because of his arrogance, he simply didn't thought anyone could be as strong as him.
