@@Russtyman01 Never remove Anna and Baby It's You. Those songs both show us the most sensitive side of John that would've been common to hear in the Clubs, when he did a softer number. Also if that were the case, there would be people, likely some of us commenting on the Star Club performance of Baby It's You, or Anna saying they clearly should've included them.
What a perfect Beatle sound this is. The gitar sounds and the vocals are making me very emotional as I am a fan ever since 1964, when I was just 4 years old. Now, nearly sixty-four I even het mor emotional then ever before...... heard it before ofcourse but it's getting better all the time.....
Among all songs recorded at Star Club, maybe is the most wanted in the next to come Peter Jackson's project. At least for me!
I first heard this song on a compilation of early numbers by Guess Who, when they were clearly emulating the British Invasion bands. I never even knew the Beatles recorded it until today. This version is definitely faster.
If The Beatles had released this, it would be another hit! A group in in NZ in the 60s released a version of this and was a big hit in NZ and Australia…group was called Ray Columbus and The Invaders…much slower version though.
Too bad the Beatles did not record this cover for an early album as the recording here is muddy and makes it difficult to hear the nuances of the instruments and Lennon's vocal. For beat bands covering this song, Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders did a great job and is the best I've heard.
I wish they would have recorded this on their first album.
Which song would it replace? I'd take off a taste of honey.
This, Some Other Guy and Hippy Hippy Shake. Take off ATOH, , Anna, and Baby it’s You
@@Russtyman01 nah Anna is a banger

Perhaps you wont feel so sentimental when you listen to the same song from Arthur Alexander 1962, who died an impoverished bus driver
@@andrewfairbairn2605 Yes I knew but it's the sound I am talking about.
@@andrewfairbairn2605Not the fault of the Beatles in any way.
64 is a nice age.. :)
one of my fave beatle tunes
Definitely overlooked. A hidden gem really . . .
Awesome. I didn't know this had an intro!
One of my favorite recordings, this sounds so good
I love to see recent listeners. Good on you
I love Paul's "Thank You, Sir". As a man who has listened to this recording many times, it's deep in my mind.
This is great , should of been on the first album or second , I love all their Hamburg songs best 1962
Das ist sehrgut😂
My favourite off this collection. I wish it was included on the BBC sessions, such a shame.
Great, great version
One of several songs that you marvel they decided not to record officially. Would have had that over ‘A Taste of Honey’ every day of the week
Or ,,Roll over beethoven''
The guitar solo sounds very sweet
Way better that the original ! It’s amazing
The Beatlefication of a song
They really could condense a song to its most musical
"Their name liveth for evermore"
Fabulous music
One of my favourite songs thanks for uploading this improved version
Thanks for the positive feedback. Yeah, this is a rare one and the only performance of it on tape.

Me too. This is the best song they did in the Star Club.

it is not too much to say that this
song is most favarit soog of all BEATLES songs.
Interestingly, a lot of people really seem to like this particular song.
Phenomenal melody and guitar solo done better by the Beatles than the original

I love the guitar on this one so much. this their original song?
This is an Arthur Alexander cover. They did several of his songs at the BBC; Anna is well-known from the first LP.
@@gringo557 okay thanks
In the first past the bass Is lost but ever since solo the bass Is fantástic and the song top obviously
This song is so Please Please Me album
Uauuuu do you improve that record? Thank you ❤️
Call up Peter Jackson lol
🇵🇪👍🎤💯🎵🎸😊
If Peter Jackson only cleaned up one song off this album, this would be my choice
Who played drums on this Pete or Ringo ?
Ringo. Pete was out in mid-August, this is December, 1962.
There`s no way Pete could have played like this. Ringo is a much better drummer than Pete.
Its such a great song Lennon vocal unique Arthur Alexander good but John so makes it his own - i take it George on lead break ?@@gringo557
Definitely Ringo!! It’s why they sound so amazing
It would be great if Peter Jackson could be brought in to enhance the sound
My thoughts too! Peter Jackson or anybody who knows what they're doing with audio.
It doesn't need a butcher😅
Jackson has reportedly bought these tapes and is working on a remaster
@@jpollackauthor thank god
I think he is now discussing the Star club tapes that Apple now own, he even said he would do it for nothing.
Is this a Lennon-MaCartney song?
Arthur Alexander ("Anna" and "Soldier of Love" among others) recorded this song.
Composed by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil
It's one of their early covers.

th-cam.com/video/uulvXSqzk5I/w-d-xo.html The original
Paul and Ringo should take an early live performance like this and give it the A.I. treatment, to clean it up and bring out the vocals!!
