    You misunderstood how mitigation works, it works separately from armor. Its a percent chance to ignore 50% damage. You currently have 30% chance to ignore 50% damage only while crouching (from 2 perks in cool tree) which is 15% damage reduction. Adding 19% mitigation strength from cyberware would make it a 30% chance to ignore 69% damage = 20.7% damage reduction while crouching.

    • @redeye259
      @redeye259 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Your calculation for damage reduction sounds inconsistent with your own definition. If it’s a chance to ignore damage then you either ignore the 50% damage or receive full damage. The 15% implies that it’s no longer a chance but is always applied.

      @@redeye259 The 15% is average damage reduction. If you have a 30% chance to ignore half damage or 15% chance to ignore all damage they are mathematically the same on average

    • @CandymanJan1
      @CandymanJan1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@redeye259What he said is perfectly consistent. Armor and mitigation are 2 separate systems. They can and do stack. Armor is a damage reduction on all incoming damages (likely in differing percentages based on the type of damage). So if your armor is x you will reduce incoming damage by x%, on every hit. Mitigation on the other hand is like your character semi-dodging a blow. It makes it a glancing blow so you don’t take full damage. So mitigation chance is how likely you are to “dodge” a blow and strength is how much the dodge reduces the blow. If you do the math this guy explained you get the “average damage reduction” over a number of attacks but it doesn’t reduce every attack like armor. It’s like saying if you flip a coin 1000 times you’re most likely going to end up about 50%/50% heads and tails.

    Great video - I especially like how you didn’t fully flesh it out, you focussed on the core gameplay mechanics of the build and left room for the viewer to add their personal touch.
    Really good job on walking the viewer through the perks, what they do and how they impact the feel of the build too. Overall a great video!

    You have a perk that requires you have all available cyberware slots filled to work, but you don't have all of your slots filled. You might want to move that point or fill in the 40 points of overhead you have left with edgerunner using some low-point intensive stuff.
    Also, I'm pretty sure you didn't do the mitigation calculation correctly. Mitigation only applies to some attacks, not all of them. Armor applies to both mitigated and unmitigated hits. Armor, overall, is more reliable, but it's hard to say which is more impactful defensively without knowing several values like mitigation %, mitigation strength, and armor. You can't really find an effective DR by simply multiplying it as a percentage of a single piece of armor. Will agree though that the specific piece should probably be one of the last you upgrade because it nerfs one stat to increase another. Most other upgrades don't have that sort of trade off where you have to do involved math to figure out if it's worth or not.

    They really need to improve the iconics for throwing weapons. Melee mods can slot into throwing weapons, So bleedout tier 5 100% crit chance on bleed effect, and Silencio 100% crit chance and 50% crit damage while crouched and undetected.

    If you do all the fixer quests in Watson you can get a way better named "newton module", it has 10% OS regen on kill I think, also lvl30+ Militech Falcon (or another iconic lvl 50 lategame sandevistan) gives another 10% OS regen on kill so having those two will kinda make you perma-hasted if you have non-boss npcs to wade through. How will this build stand against Adam Smasher tho? It's def OP but after you run out of juice it becames a lil bit too fragile IMO

    • @SWIFTMEDIAOG
      @SWIFTMEDIAOG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a very good question, I think the build would be pretty competitive against adam smasher, but you are right about running out of juice and having the possibly to become vulnerable. This is where I would personally bring netrunning into this build and unlock "queue mastery / Spillover" and their supporting perks.

    • @Alex-em6dz
      @Alex-em6dz ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SWIFTMEDIAOG yeah! sounds like the most reasonable synergy for this build, would also make the most-badass stealth setup possible! On another hand if we forgo netrunning completely for this run and use Sandy exclusively I'd go for 15/15/15/20 of STR/DEX/TECH/COOL for max survivability + mobility and insane damage potential, or something "jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none" like 15 INT for netrunning, 15 body and 15 tech for max survivability, 9 reflexes for mobility (dodging massively helps with survivability on very hard it seems, much more than all the mitigation, HP and armor 15/15 STR/COOL provides). 15 cool should be somewhat fine because losing the last perks in the cool tree doesn't hamper us much since we already have almost max crit - 5% DEX +15% +25% cyberware +40% Sandy active Shinobi skill lvl 60 bonus + last bits from cyberware passive bonuses... That would be extremely flexible and playstyle-tunable for whatever task you wanna do the way you wanna do it, on top of that 50->60 level cap raise from DLC would allow us to get some last lvl 20 perks in a couple of stats aswell to "specialize" the build, that's really cool

      @51914-m ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@somekindadragon3414 if you apply real world logic to a game you’ll come undone, agreed in this sense, if *I* get shot in the head once or a knife in my head then yes, I’m not getting back up.
      In game however, it’s down to the weapons power. There are iconic guns with more power where you can snipe and one-shot mobs. But guns have clips, they have more DPS, for balancing purposes, a knife is a one-time use with a cooldown. They have higher DPH (damage per hit) to compensate for the fact they have a cooldown after being thrown. Obviously this is removed with perks and good aim as shown in this video.
      I keep wanting to make a build which is “assassin” like, but I personally can’t move away from thrown knives as my primary weapon of choice for stealth take downs as it’s just so satisfying!

      But "Jailbreaks" Mantis blade specific buff is as follows
      Dismembering an enemy or performing a Finisher with Mantis Blades will charge the next Leap Attack.
      "You can hold your Attack Button down and then release to perform a Long-Range Leap Attack
      A charged Leap Attack with Mantis Blades has +30 M. longer reach and deals massive damage with a wide slash that hits the target and other nearby enemies
