      Just rewatched. Yeah I absolutely could have by ss magnamut and linking for IP with gryphon, and then quick launch for tracer/caliber. Though this is unreliable to show for a TH-cam replay since gryphon is theoretically trading for a handtrap to make sure the combo goes through in actual gameplay. I think the endboard we ended on is preferable to IP savage in this instance though due to diminishing returns.

    Magician souls in general is one of the most slept on cards on master duel.
    Have no clue why it’s not a stable in every deck that has lingering spell effects.
    I play the 3 card package in mannadium and it’s one of the best assets
    It’s better than a pot of greed most times. At worst it’s a one card for one draw.
    At best it’s a plus one. And even more it’s a plus one plus a free body . And it thins your deck by sending the Garnet. And the Garnet is never a dead card because it recycles itself for the souls.

    • @ct1296
      @ct1296 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think a lot of it comes down to the fact that 8-9 of your non engine slots are dictated by maxx c - if your starters already set up a winning board, cards like souls that you usually need to hard-draw access to and aren’t always necessary to win games can be a hard sell.
      In any deck by the time you’ve included starters, extenders, supplementary engine, engine requirements and your maxx c package, you often have 10 or fewer slots left to play non-engine that is actually good in the specific format. Often you’ll just want to max out on cards that stop your opponent setting up an unbeatable turn 1, or that trade for multiple cards on their board.
      It makes sense here, with reliable adventure access, searchability from chaos space (which is a strong card but does need another target to be useful) and lines that benefit from the free body. But even then it’ll take a bit of testing to see if this is optimal.

    • @zekiel2533
      @zekiel2533 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ct1296go over 40 cards. I don't understand why players hyper focus on 40 cards when there's enough consistency to go over 40 while making the deck stronger
      The deck building skills of players aren't good enough to go over 40 I guess.

    • @ct1296
      @ct1296 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zekiel2533 I’ve been saying for a while that yugioh is yet to have its “moneyball moment”, where someone figures out a 52 card deck with specific ratios gives you a statistically optimal hand every game.
      That being said, it depends on the deck, and maxx c also warps this. If you need to see your outs then it’s a hard sell to play more cards and lose more games by not drawing it. Even disregarding maxx c, if there are specific starters, extenders and handtraps in your deck that you want to see more than others, you are better playing close to 40.
      The argument for playing a bigger deck and including something like souls is valid in a deck where you don’t have a lot of good in-engine extenders - you could offset that by playing more generic goodstuff to bump your ratios. D link is the perfect type of deck to explore this, since any dragon that gets a second body is a one-card starter, and where you want to see extenders in every hand. In more linear decks that want to see specific cards though, you’re dropping consistency to fit it in.

    There's a cool line I've been testing with Muddy Mudragon to make Albion & Granguignol using the same mats then Grang send Saronir/Lubellion to summon by tributing Albion. Turns a synchro 6 plus a light monster (easily achieved by linking Souls into Artemis) into 2 8s with 2-3 interruptions (Regained from Lubellion, Beast from Albion, potential Grang eff). If the tuner was Ringowurm, then you can use the token to make Dis Pater and bring back the Ringo for Baronne. It also works with Shinobi Necro as the tuner if you Albion banish him as the 2nd mat for Grang

    Pretty Interesting list but it feels like this build bricks a lot. sure it makes a crazy combo going "first" but what about going "2nd"? specially when u lose a toss coin 90% pf the time. • @cucaslort1731
    @cucaslort1731 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    disagree with a lot there particularly playing 60 cards to fit random imperms and nibs and i also think ringowurm is probably cope since it doesnt do enough without chaos ruler, seems to me you need very ideal hands to make full use of it like mostly 3 card combos (in a 60 card pile mind you). Or am I missing sth?
    but terrortop into cherub paired with the souls engine to be able to still run chaos space seems good, probably would trim it down to around around 50 cards tho, increases redundancy a bit yes, but being able to pop off means you win anyway.

    • @Crowned_PvP
      @Crowned_PvP ปีที่แล้ว

      It's because drink now has the issue of trying to go second but not having the gas to do so. Nib is a strong option with the current meta, and imperm is a good hand trap that doubles as a draw target for magician souls

    • @cucaslort1731
      @cucaslort1731 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      nib will be ok vs shs dont buy playing imperm in 60 and hoping to stop the combo, just focus on engine at that point imo, slim down so you see your drolls and maxx cs more often cause they are actually winning you the game@@Crowned_PvP

    • @cucaslort1731
      @cucaslort1731 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      cards like veiler imperm either have good matchups or are part of heavy handtrap lineups, dont really see other options. So the Q is, does it stop the SHS combo consistently on its own? yes cool play it, no either ditch it or play a good amount of other handtraps alongside it that you will see consistently alongside it. This is how i decide what and how many handtraps to put in a deck

      Not really no. 40 is less consistent in this type of build. You need to go up to 60 to spread out bricks and have space to play an appropriate number of handtraps. The list is very very tight. If you want to play 40 you’ll need to play a standard list.

    "It's crazy" - Every single clip you posted, none of your opponents had a single handtrap.
    Every deck is amazing when no negations are involved and decks are able to just special summon willy-nilly. A solid Ash, Maxx-C or Imperm, and this deck would've been useless.
    Post the clips where you get negated, then we can know for real how good this new D-Link deck is.

    • @NotsoNaisu
      @NotsoNaisu ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You do have to keep in mind that the intention of this deck is to have multiple combo lines, and for every card used to HT the less you have when it’s back to your turn for your own combo.
      But I do agree it’s disingenuous to make a video like this and only show the going first potential. I think this deck can still go second tho depending on the MU. It looks like it’s kind of structured like Heroes in that it’s all gas so you have to have a going first board that either floodgates DL or has so many interruptions they effectively can’t play. Which isn’t uncommon but is certainly possible.

    • @jayray7449
      @jayray7449 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NotsoNaisu Yeah, I guess you're right. He wouldn't be able to show the deck off if it was constant negates.
      But to say the deck is crazy is an overstatement. I believe that for now, D-Link is a dead deck that won't be competitive in masterduel for a while. I believe people will move over to Dragunity/Thunder Dragon.
      Whilst D-Link can, as you saw in the video, put up some amazing boards, realistically unless your opp has no negates, you'll likely get away with a link 5 at most, possibly even a savage, and that's at a push.
      D-Link strength came from the ability to special summon multiple cards off of the back of 1 normal summon, that's pretty much gone now.
