The synergy is that Krawlers and Ninjas have a few level 2 monsters and also like flipping face up and down... I personally prefer Penguins combined with Ninjas.
Josh you should take a look to spright with ice barrier, basically just magic master so you can dump him with swap frog, search for freezing chains, revive master and make toad with him and swap

I tried it with krawlers back when the Ninja's came out but the issue is that you make ninjas, who aren't hurt by Maxx C to completely unplayable. Maxx C just kills that variant so hard.

The ninja player used all their effects way too late. For dlink the ninja player must shutdown anything from hitting the graveyard and a link summon so that means nuking the fuck out of that normal summon.
Wtf spright could have won if he played it good he can summon gigantic and get carrot and stay with it next turn get red on grave and bam 2 negates againts dlink no matter what top deck Josh get he can negate and destroy it.

Krawler soma is a wild tech, it both gets you spright access and facilitates you face down turbo gameplan, whoever thought of that is genius

Mitsu is pretty much perfect for Krawlers, even if you weren't running any other Ninjas I'd recommend that card in any sort of Krawlers deck
There's also the Number 2 Ninja monster which is a rank 2.
