- The wagon is back from the Panel shop.. In part 2 you saw me strip the wagon down and send it away, now it’s back and in part 3 I put it all back together to make it a complete car again.
Love the V8 wagons hardly any left. Yours is at another level.
Thanks for the compliment, the V8 wagons are a rare breed now
What a great job mate, looks fantastic

Beautiful car!! Been waiting for this vid.
Thank you.. it is pretty decent 🙂
Looking good. I love them in the red. I’m doing an executive VN 5lt wagon. And I’m put on the letterbox grille and the sv Le wagon wing. With VG clubsport copy wheels.
The thing will look amazing mate… I think the VN to VS wagon styling has aged quite well.. love to see it once done
@ So do I think the VN to VS wagons look fantastic. I will get my wagon finished in the next 12 months.
@ good luck with the build
Looks sharp…very nice wagon mate👌🏽👍🏽
Thanks 🙂, it does look nice now
Nice love the gloss rocker grey on the bars , I'm in the process of painting a berlina was going to go the flat rocker grey on the section of bars and door moulds I'll be doing them gloss now.
Thanks for that, I was just like you going to do them as per factory, but it’s cleaner and more sleek like this, it really makes the stock VN Bars look amazing, the bars are quite rounded and look so good like this.. I used to own a White Berlina wagon, was a great car and very similar to the LE with the main difference being the interior…
At first I went “oh no, you’ve gloss painted all the natural finish parts” (bars, tailgate moulds etc) but the more I watched the video, the more I like them done in gloss. Good to see the progress so far.
Yeah it was a hard decision but I had seen a a few and they do look good.. funny thing is the door side protection strips were always more shiny than the top of the bars, varied significantly from factory.. I didn’t paint the side protection moulds.. now the bars are a bit more shiny than than them but they match quite well
@@GTZ05the gloss issue was because of the different plastic composition between the moulds and the bars - the never ending problem that manufacturers had back then.
After seeing the moulds fitted (and finally, someone fits them like oem!) the match is very good.
A little late now, but I came across LORD HPC-5B which is like black liquid rubber, and you can apply it with a brush. It sticks to the old rubber and leaves a smooth, new rubber surface once dried. I had to thin it with some xylene to get rid of brush strokes. I did the rear door glass separators (fixed glass and up/down part divider) and it came out great.
I will look into that for some of the other cars I have thanks for the tip
Looking sweet, nice update, just subscribed 👍 hope you had a great Xmas and all the best for 2025, looking forward to seeing part 4, Cheers 🍻 KC 🇦🇺🦘🏔🪃🤝🇦🇺🦘👌🍻🍻

My mates little brother had one of these for his fisrt car they said it was a rare wagon
80 produced and the first official HSV wagon line made, so they are rare..
Looks mint mate you have done a great job
I’ve nearly finished my vr hsv wagon it’s been painted and have the leather interior recoloured just have to do the welsh plugs and ready for roadworthy.
I also have to repaint the window rubbers are they hard to take out? I got a nos rear window and rubber for my wagon. Keep up the good work mate loving the videos.
Thanks, glad you are enjoying the vids, ( if you are referring to the rubber surrounds on the rear side windows) those windows have plastic nuts holding them in, easy to get out but the plastic trims in front of them can get very brittle and to get them off without breaking them.. you also have to take out the bottom of the rear seat to undo the bottom of the seat belts and thread them trough the slot..
@@GTZ05 cheers mate might have a go and try not to break anything
@ you can also leave them in and rub them back and mask up everything and do it that way….
Firehorn red was a vc colour?
@@mcdriveit1098 that’s correct, associated with the VC Brock but was actually also on the VB.. for some reason they ran these 80 VN’s in that colour and the Sedans in Maranello red which was also not a VN Colour, they marketed them as the Christmas special so maybe they used red for that reason…
What did you use to clean the engine bay? Looks smic.
I used a hose on the lower rails to get the dust I couldn’t hand clean, then I just kept using soap and a sponge to clean it taking my time.. after that just a nice light hand polish and that was it.. I also degreased a few lower parts of the engine aswell..
AUSTRALIAS DRIVING FUTURE
I guess it was back then, such a shame it couldn’t last forever… hard to believe the last Holden made here was 2017, time really flys…
