One of my favorite stories from this show!!! It just goes to show that people should NEVER underestimate the abilities of children - or, in this case - people with disabilities.

Yup, people seen to think people with disabilities are stupid or don’t understand you. I have autism and ADHD and people think that about me everyday. This really does prove them wrong

I have some mild ADHD and a pretty bad anxiety disorder. Did the Heimlich for the first time ever today on a good work friend of mine when she choked on a piece of chicken. Makes me realize that your disorders or conditions definitely do not define who you are as a person. This man truly was his fathers hero here. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Many of the Rescue 911 segments where disabled people save a relative's life inspired me to take a CPR/AED class, which I did in 2013. And I have autism.

Many of these R911 segments where people with Down syndrome or any other disability has been an utter inspiration for me to take BLS classes (CPR/AED).

28 years have passed since this happened Bradley is 49 and Jonathan is 41 now. I was worried when I saw Jerry choke. I thought he was going to die, but I was glad that Bradley did the Heimlich maneuver. I’m sure Jerry is forever and his son’s debt and thanked them for saving his life. I have autism, but I’m still me. If my father is ever in distress or my mother, I’m right there. This happened on a Monday. Bradley may have Down Syndrome, but he’s still the same. Disabled people can help others as well.

What a heroic young man for saving his father’s life like this. ❤️❤️ I had a similar scary experience today just like this. Had to perform the Heimlich for the first time ever on somebody I work with.
She choked on a piece of chicken at lunchtime and was just like this young man’s father when she couldn’t breathe or talk. I stood behind her just like this kid did with his father and got the food out on the fourth abdominal thrust with a big push. My co-worker was okay thank heavens, but it was such a scary experience. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

If you’re going to eat and chew your food, do it slowly because it’s not like your food is going anywhere or it’s going to be your last meal. My mother told me that.

Jerry is surprisingly calm for choking, while it makes sense not to panic and use up your air, most people could not do that and I myself am one of them.
I start stomping and thrashing immediately.
The last time I choked really bad was on some pill capsules that got stuck together in my throat and it would have been very bad, but fortunately I started retching and there was a good amount of water in my stomach and it washed the pills back up and I was saved.

There is a strange phenomenon where some choking victims hide during the incident. Their flight response kicks in and they sometimes die because people never even knew they were in trouble
