It’s a pure lottery with the AJ-133. Brilliant sounding engine and pulls like a train but has many weak points.

Im in the middle of a 5.0 supercharged repair. i had to get 2 sleeves and oversize .75mm on one hole. if you remove the hood struts you can open the hood straight up, its got the clips on the hinges. Im using the Moca timing set for the rebuild. I would change that crossover plastic coolant pipe at the back of the heads .

Imagine if you had the same setup as the xfr on the Range Rover. I’ve been thinking about buying one and doing the same. Just don’t know if this engine would hold that power for long. Stuck in between x5 50 or rr sport.

That's not really big miles.. are these engines common for this to happen with that kind of mileage bud?

@@SidewaysStew not a common issue but what I did notice is alot of oil sludge build inside the engine which i thunk is the reason previous owner dint service the engine regularly

@@SidewaysStewYES! I have a 2010 jaguar XFR with the same engine. My engine blew out July 3, 2024 with 101k miles. I just got the new motor put in, stage 3. IT’S VICIOUS! THIS IS KEY!!!!!! Every time you do an oil change, flush it out with diesel! SECRET I JUST LEARNED! Do this in the engine life will go past 500k. The gentleman I got my engine from, rebuild these engines and his jag, same 2010 has 270 and still going strong. It’s what they don’t want us to know.🙌🏾🇺🇸🫡🇺🇸

      Thanks for that bud..
My 2011 xjl supersport has just turned 90k miles.. Ive always changed the oil twice a year and have done in the 9 years I've owned it.. I average 3-4k miles a year but never thought of adding diesel for an engine flush.. what amount of diesel do you add and how long do you have it run for..
      Thanks

@@Ricky50scJustalil6cylinder wow. ok yeah this scared me because i got the 2017 fpace S on dual pulley setup tuned i dont want to run into timing issues, is there a reason why this happened? cause of the tensioner breaking? I would like to do as much as possible to avoid this if possible. I knew about the coolant issues and replaced fuel pump on this already, but wasnt expecting timing issues thought that was just the diesel.😳

Take a look at the back of the tensioners . There is sludge that builds up in the feed galley and then the piston jams up…. Also there is a tiny relief which they made even smaller on the new units which raises the oil pressure in the newer unit
