Scarlet, you are one of the few reactors to notice the mic stand toss and catch. It is standard practise for John to play with the mic stand. You are right, he does connect with the audience in a brilliant way and he is a truly lovely person. He is much loved in Australia.
Yeah I am amazed how many reactors miss the mic toss really wonder if they are paying much attention , then again i would watch this 3 times a week and know it so well but never ever tire of listening to John !
Exactly! The amount of times I'm yelling at the screen "keep watching!" then "U missed it!".. but most notice the toss to the side, & later the foot lift of the tossed stand. But hey... at least more are taking notice of John & his amazing voice.

John is totally pumped up for this anthem of a song! A number of John's songs are messages for the greater good in the world. And what a talent he is to carry those messages! Beautiful LOVE!

John had a mouth cancer removed this year, and lately due to internet etc. Many people are just discovering him.
His career over the last 60 years has been a success but, a recent movie/doco shows how it happened, his journey wasn't easy.
Scarlet, you are perseptive...John Farnham tried for 30 years to get to what you witnessed. At one point, he was completely broke and unable to take one of his children to McDonalds for a birthday cheeseburger. He earned his fame, and rightly so, it took a long time and Australia loves him for persevering. He is what we call, the underdog that rose to the top. He recently underwent cancer surgery for his jaw, ironically.
He now has the all clear, thankfully..

John is a national treasure. Gifted, humble, funny, connected, gracious, and so many superlatives! Recorded in Melbourne, Australia, my and John’s hometown. This was one of three encores after 2 hours of jam packed entertainment, a band of stars in their own instruments, plus the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. 45000 fans each night over 5nights (?), and I plead with you to review “Please don’t ask me” duet with Olivia Newton John. They were never a couple, but were the best of fiends since the ‘60s. But…what Chemistry!
