In nj it is illegal for a bus or truck to be driving below the posted speed on expressways, parkways and turnpikes. Instant ticket in nj. I guess because down there people may not be driving like they do here in the nyc metro area.
In TX I don’t know but for some reason there’s this supid rule where you can’t turn right during a red light and people behind us keeps getting pissed because we have to stop at red light when turning and we can’t turn on red
@@JoshuaWithTheBusesno you aren’t 😂. me personally the urge to go faster would set in really quickly and I’d be mad at the bus for not going faster despite pushing all the way on the gas 😂
Isn't much he can do about it when the bus itself is choked down to 45. He shouldn't be driving on the interstate with it. And if he doesn't have a choice but to go this way, they should make an exemption to the 45 rule and turn the governor up on the bus so he can drive it safely.
@@jerrysylvesterjrand in the future they should get buses with a higher ratio (I heard 5.57 is a good rear gear to add from 9sb19) but also could unlock 6th with the existing ratio and allow them to go 70.
I’m getting closer to becoming a school bus driver! I recently passed the passenger and school bus endorsement tests. This is a helpful video on what driving will be like! 😄👍
It doesn’t seem like a lot if you take it into consideration, but if you lived in the state it’s something completely different once you realize how fast the bus is actually going.
They use the white activity buses for that stuff however it wouldnt be necessary to have an extra fleet of buses if they'd just bump these yellow buses up to highway speeds
IC CE only started doing Cummins in 2016. Before then, it was Maxxforce in 2009, then the VT365 in 2004, and the T444E in 2002. The DT466E was an option until 2009.
Yoo I watched you since ROR vids, I find it so humbling that you and james both became school bus drivers. Anywho is driving a bus hard? I may look into it
If I'm the Governor of North Carolina, There will be not top speed of 45 MPH for School Buses!!!!
Thank you bc 45 is too slow
@@GLO_2016 fr at least bump it up to 55 or 60
Like really. I couldn’t agree more!

45 limit is unreal. that has to be more dangerous than going the actual speed limit of the motorway surely
Yes it is
I'd be surprised if they ever changed it
My husband driver drives like 20 Over the speed limit.

We have thay rule too
You definitely deserve a sub but the governor better change their damn f**king 45 speed limit and push it to 75 or 80 speed limit
Wow awesome video! That exhaust brake sounded amazing I love it!
14:57 dude you are fully on the wrong side of the road
Okay

What Bus Number in Forsyth County?
932

We're okay at 45. 45 is the highest speed limit in the area other than the highway. And buses are only on the highway for like 3 minutes.
I ride 40 for 25 mins

Nooooo you sure aren't. Not on an interstate with 65+ speed limits.
@@jerrysylvesterjr I meant my county. We don't have interstates in our county, and they just go to 55 and 60

If I may ask why do you have the hazard lights on while on the highway?
He was going under the speed limit a significant amount. He put on his hazards for the literal purpose of the word "hazard".

In Texas the top speed for bus drivers are 55 mph but 55 is kinda slow because people keep passing us
In Colorado most are not limited and can go 75 mph.
Why do you pull the brakes every time you stop
Less wear and tear on my knee
wait a minute now that exhaust break sound like the thomas and then air brakes omg sound good 😊
I down shift it so I can sound like it
judging by the paint on those activity buses this is either Guilford County or Forsyth county
1 Cool video hope to get more!! And 2 why y’all govern 45 MPH. In Georgia it’s governed to 65-70 like far right lane speed on a highway 😂
It doesn’t seem like a lot if you take it into consideration, but if you lived in the state it’s something completely different once you realize how fast the bus is actually going.
NC state law. I think it's just a *tad* ridiculous.
Nothing in Indiana that prohibits it thankfully. Can go 55 in a 55 and it’s perfect
I thought I was the only one to use the engine to brake haha, I mostly do it coming off highways though.
Alrighty now you better push that ce!!!
Always
Here in Colorado most of ours are locked down at 72 but some will get up north of 75/76.
Sombody else copied your exhaust break sound
