I was a boarder from 11 to 16. My parents lived abroad so i never saw them from months at a time. We didnt have phones, pay phones did not work calling the middle east. I agree it was sort of fun once you get used it, and being around my parents during holidays.
I went to a public school in Australia...freedom meant underrage drinking, illicit drugs, skipping school. I now work a low income job, 2 of my school friends are dead, some of the others are in jail and the rest are drug addicts....maybe some discipline would've been positive for my group but yeah keep whinging about not having the freedom
@@robknight164 I'm not denying that state boarding schools have privileged middle-class kids, but it is literally not a "private school" as the title depicts. Private schools are non-government funded and independently owned, whereas state schools like the one Elz went to is owned by the state and funded by the council. There is a huge difference between private boarding schools like Eton and Harrow, and the one Elz went to.
Is learning to "get your clothes out and get dressed and stuff" at 11 really learning at a young age? I haven't got any younger siblings and obviously don't remember when I started doing it because why would I haha, but my nephew's 5 and he's doing that
@@Sr68720 I wouldn’t even say all crime is mischievous, if u steal a bag of sweets or break the speed limit it’s illegal but doesn’t make u a bad person, mischief to me is bad intentions and people u just see as vile and who provide nothing positive to the world, like ur drug dealers and child groomers, maybe I just don’t care about petty crime when there’s real wrongens about and they’re way more common than people realise, most my secondary school had these unintelligent ‘alpha’ males who’re vile and delusional

Not all boarding schools are like this. I honestly had the best time at Boarding School. Went for sixth form and I think it was better than my first two years at uni. Stuff happens at every school. I actually nearly went to her school. Glad I didn’t.
