It was very on the nose commentary on smartphone and devices for a good chunk of the episode. Russel can do better than this. The trend with this season seems to be that nobody is proofreading these scripts. They're skipping the editing stage altogether. Chock full of plot holes, unaswered questions that actually DO need answers for the sake of the plot actually making sense, and honestly just a bunch of characters motivations that either need expanding or to just be removed entirely. Russel said behind the scenes that they made the cast of the episode white to see how long it would take the audience to notice, since we live in a multicultural society. I didnt notice until he pointed that out. The area I live in is predominantly white, so it's not something i have cause to think about. If you dont live in london or a big city, its unlikely to have drawn your attention. There seems to be a weird tone to the writing at the moment where you HAVE to notice race otherwise its a bad thing, like we didnt spend the last 20 years claiming you were fine if you DIDNT notice it.
