As far as I remember, my biggest is 5lb.
You cannot fish that lure in heavy cover where that snakes are at That is why I prefer old-school soft plastic snake lures you need to check out the original fishing snake lure by Doug Hannon a.k.a. The bass professor.

What a fun lure! My PB on topwater was a creek smallmouth = 19" and about 3lbs on a black whopper plopper 60 - which actually hooked my thumb as well, resulting in a trip to urgent care.

Biggest bass on top water was 2.5 on a black whopper plopper 75, also food for thought I’ve switched to braid for all my top water hook sets have become way easier especially with fishing new baits. Enjoyed the video happy Easter to you and your family

I use a yozuri saltwater popper and the results are amazing. I caught a 7.9lb monster. Very pleased with it. Don't be afraid to use saltwater gear, it may surprise you.
Biggest Billy Bass I caught was a 2.8lb and I seldom fish top water. Maybe that is why record is not very impressive at all.
I don’t want to say because if the monsters people have caught, but maybe it’s because I fish in CT. Biggest was on a frog between 2-3lbs

Need to try new things to keep it interesting. That snake bait might just be the ticket. Best produce result is a 4.3lb large mouth.
It's about 4lb plus if I am not mistake. It was early in the morning with a buzzbait and I am glad I managed to get myself out of bed to catch the action.
