The Poltimore requires that the wearer's personality be larger and more vivid than the tiara; not many could stand up to it. Margaret certainly fulfilled that requirement and then some!
Not that I would know, but if you are fortunate enough to own a tiara, wear it whenever and wherever you please, including the bathtub. It's a shame when items are sold to private collectors and disappear completely from public view.
Paltimore is my FAVOURITE tiara of ALL TIME! lts SO beautiful, lts SO stunning, lts SO well thought out. l take a breath every time l see a picture of it on Margaret. l'm quite sad it was sold, as it would have been WONDERFUL to see it on another.
The video is totally ruined by the poor narration Names of Jeweller and people who are well know are incorrectly pronounced. Is it really that difficult to do some prior planning? The channel is focused on Royal jewels but can not even get the correct pronunciation of the court jeweller - WOEFUL
So glad that someone else picked up on this. At least get the jeweler's name correctly...Google translate is helpful in that. Other words hurt my ears too...epitome comes to mind. Otherwise, a good video.
I followed this Tiara;s auction closely. I spoke to 2 different people at the auction house. Both confirmed that the buyer did not want to be named. The Queen and Prince Phillip bought this Tiara for Margarets wedding present. Naturally it held a great store of memories for her Majesty. If she gave cash to Margarets children then they would have to pay tax on the amount. So this is what I surmise, the Queen had one of her private secretaries bid on the Tiara and bid to win, after all the Queen was very wealthy. The Tiara is sitting on a metal shelf in one of Buckingham Palaces basements where her jewelry is kept. I don't know if she told David and Sarah that she had the Tiara? Her Majesty was able to look at this Tiara , perhaps on the Birthday of Margaret. It has never been seen in Public and probably never will. The Queen would not want to see anyone else wear this beautiful Tiara so I truly believe she purchased it so it was back in the family. Camilla will never be seen in this Tiara as it was Margarets personal jewelry which in theory belongs to Margarets children. I think my investigation of this Tiara ( which is my personal pick) has come to the right conclusion. We may now look at photos of Margaret wearing this Tiara and enjoy her beauty and sense of humor for eternity.
With regard to Margaret breaking the rule about not wearing a tiara until after her marriage. That rule is only for women who marry into the royal family. Princess Margaret was born a royal, so those rules did not apply to her. This is why her official title was Princess Royal and not just Princess. Princess Anne now has that title, and once Princess Anne passes away, it will probably be bestowed on Charlotte.
Princess Margaret was a princess of the blood but never princess Royal. Princess Royal is reserved for the firstborn daughter of the king. This title was held by Mary, countess harewood who was the daughter of George V. After she died, princess Anne was given the title by Queen Elizabeth II
I think with the bath photo, she'd probably had her hair and makeup done for an event early in the day before she'd had her bath and that was why she was wearing the tiara in the bath as to not mess her hair uo
I'll never understand why we have to pay taxes on property that was taxed when bought with money that has already been taxed when earned by the person who earned it. You would think Margaret would have been smart enough to set up a living trust and just name her kids as beneficiaries and then they wouldn't have to pay taxes. Also at the least I would have expected he Queen to have purchased it.
You are right...however, the 'voice' could still get it wrong. Try eh-PIT-oh-me. However, in French it is accented on the first and last 'e'= épitomé (Latin-Greco etomology).
You are right if you count at the current exchange rate. However, if we move back to 2006 when the tiara was sold, the realisation price of GBP 926,400 is equivalent to 1.7 million USD
Its sad that the piece has been sold outside the UK. I wounder if now that wouldn’t allowed. You.’d think the Queen have had bought it when Margret died and it Could have stayed i the UK. Sad.
I wished that Margaret would have degreed the tiera to the crown after her death. So that it would still stay with the royal family . It would have been worn by the future princess of Wales .
Catalin's comment is in Romanian...so says Google translate: THIS TIARA IS MY QUEEN MARIA BUT SOME MODIFICATIONS HAD TO BE DONE TO IT BECAUSE THE CIRCLE IS NOT GOLD So...a load of nonsense in my opinion.
Very nice and thorough video about this famous tiara and Princess Margaret. But I wonder, is this an AI voice? Some of the pronounciations were...well, a bit shocking!😂😂
This AI presentation is very hard to listen to. Epitome is not pronounced Epi tome. And the weird breaks in the sentences is hard on the ears. I won’t be back.
Please, please, please improve the narration of your videos. While it doesn’t sound like AI to me, the mispronunciation of so many words made it tedious to listen to. Fix this and I bet you would get a lot more subscribers.
I hate AI narrators that can't pronounce words correctly. At least go back and correct things. At least I hope this is AI, and not some real person who can't pronounce 'epitome', 'Iran', or 'Helena' correctly
The Poltimore requires that the wearer's personality be larger and more vivid than the tiara; not many could stand up to it. Margaret certainly fulfilled that requirement and then some!
Well said. The both were the perfect match!
I know ladies who would wear it with regal disregard
I must say Margaret was a stunning bride, outgoing her sister.

I thought the picture of Margaret wearing the tiara in the bath was a hoot, she clearly showed a sense of humor doing this.
I loved the photo of PM in the tub wearing her tiara!!
The tiara is breathtakingly beautiful! ❤
I love this tiara as a necklace.

The mispronunciations are so jarring. It’s unbelievable this was posted without a basic edit.
The naration is computer generated. However the video isn't and never will be totally ruined.
It's artificially generated speech, drives me up the wall.

I do hope that this is all true and I would not be surprised either. It would be so very much like Queen Elizabeth.
I do hope so
Incredible theory. Enjoying the possibility you are correct. And...admire your tenacity to find out more. Well DONE!

My apologies, I thought it passed to Margaret before going to Anne.
Margaret was so beautiful
I wish that the tiara was given to the royal family. Would love to see this on the other royals.
So beautiful on Princess Margaret. ❤

Cool. Beautiful tiara.
Did you really just mispronounce “epitome?” Jesus.
AI at its finest?
And Iran. 🙄
@@KristenK78 have to admit I tuned out before that!
And Garrard the jeweller; there is no W in it! @@KristenK78
I think Queen Elizabeth ll had her hands full with Margaret in those days but I must say this ....That Tiarira Rocks !!! Take care
My favorite BRF tiara of all time.
ICONIC💐
Looks like a full blown royal crown.
Margaret was an absolute beauty ❤
Great content! 👍 😊
I detest AI voices they cannot pronounce names and large words.
Very interesting! Congratulations!!
Epitome is pronounced - E-PIT-O-ME. Not sure if this is AI narrated or a real person.
You are right...however, the 'voice' could still get it wrong. Try eh-PIT-oh-me. However, in French it is accented on the first and last 'e'= épitomé (Latin-Greco etomology).
Also, it’s Iran, not “ear-an”.
WAS SOLD ONLY FOR $1.1 MILLION NOT $1.7 MILLION.
You are right if you count at the current exchange rate. However, if we move back to 2006 when the tiara was sold, the realisation price of GBP 926,400 is equivalent to 1.7 million USD
Margret was stunning in this headpiece….. it was so suited for the Princess.
Its sad that the piece has been sold outside the UK. I wounder if now that wouldn’t allowed. You.’d think the Queen have had bought it when Margret died and it Could have stayed i the UK. Sad.
3:45 Absolutely stunning!
Why would she stop wearing the tiara after her divorce?
Again, she was born royal, and remained royal, for the rest of her life.
It’s “e-pit-o-mee” !
I wished that Margaret would have degreed the tiera to the crown after her death. So that it would still stay with the royal family . It would have been worn by the future princess of Wales .
That should NEVER had left the country.
It’s too bad it had to be sold. It would be nice if it had gone to a museum.
Gaward or GaRRard the pronuncion of the jewelers sounds odd.
ACEASTA TIARA ESTE A MEA REGINA MARIA DAR TREBUIA FACUTE NISTE MODIFICARI LA IA PENTRU CA CERCUL NU ESTE DIN AUR .
@@catalinstoica6919 In English!

So...a load of nonsense in my opinion.
Google translate pronounces it something like: GArH-rod (that first 'r' hardly there...as often is in British English).
The narrator needs some help with her pronunciation!!!
That’s because she’s not real. The narrator is a computer program.
Very nice and thorough video about this famous tiara and Princess Margaret. But I wonder, is this an AI voice? Some of the pronounciations were...well, a bit shocking!😂😂
Calling this Tiara fatal is nothing but nonsense! Click bait at most. It is a beautiful tiara and it certainly isn't fatal.
The late Queen Elizabeth purchased this.
I thought it was sold to someone from Japan. OMG! If it shows up on Camilla’s head, I’ll cry!!!!!
If you read my new comment I can say to you Camilla will never be seen in Margarets Tiara.@@almclester
why when people die is there an inheritance tax???
😊
I read that Princess Margaret's children sold it some time ago to pay for her death duties.
AI narration is really annoying because it’s so ineptly presented.
What's with the machine narration? That pronunciation, phrasing.... It's come to this? "Garward"? "Epi-Tome"? "Ear-Ahn?" It's come to this?
Great info and photos. You really couldn't afford a real voice?? AI = BS.
Overcompensation for being a spare.
I think it’s a shame that the Queen didn’t buy it back. Wouldn’t Katherine look gorgeous in it?
Stop the lazy AI talking. Get an actual person to speak.
This AI presentation is very hard to listen to. Epitome is not pronounced Epi tome. And the weird breaks in the sentences is hard on the ears.
I won’t be back.
Pronunciation, enunciation. Lacking here. The tiara was used as an illusion for height.
You can see that Margaret was wearing a bathing suit in the tub. See the dark strap on her right shoulder.

Can't you find narrators who know how to pronounce words correctly? If not, get them a dictionary and a thesaurus!
