How about call a national emergency and put naval boats and aviation on patrol to forcibly stop these boats, instead of charity boats to pick them up

You could stop the boats overnight. If France announced that they would take every person who crossed to the UK in a small boat back with no questions asked there would be no people traffickers, and no camps in French seaside towns. It'll never happen because it's too politically difficult.
Or could simply open an asylum centre in France where the people could apply for asylum. That way no need to get on boats.
Was even offered by France as a way to stop the boats back in 2021 and uk rejected it.

If could apply for asylum (no gaurantee will be granted) then wouldn’t be necessary to get on a boat, and anyone retrieved from a boat can be taken to where they can apply for asylum (ie back in France)
Once applied then who are should be on record so if try again then already failed claim and quick deportation.
This is not a french problem and even if they agreed to take them back to france from the boats it won’t stop them trying again will it. As only get picked up if caught.
So it is no deterrent at all and won’t stop them trying to get to Britain.
Having them claim asylum from France as well means that
1) have no need to get on boat so why get on there
2) if on boat then take them to where can claim asylum (ie France)
3) no stupid accommodation needed in uk for them whilst being processed.

Uhm, no, France was promised something like £50m in the first year, and the UK didnt pay, then complained that the French were doing too little as per the agreement. That was the agreement that the UK promised to pay for, but didnt. After pressure in the press, the UK finally paid what they promised. Then the subsequent year was something like an extra £5m, same again 3rd year, and recently a deal for £500m or so was agreed, but note, hasnt been paid for yet (as far as I understood from reading about this a few days ago).

There are British citizens that are homeless and on the streets tonight. I see this first hand every week through volunteer work. It is unjustifiable, abhorrent and frankly disgraceful that economic migrants that arrive on these boats are housed immediately and ahead of them at British tax payers expense.
I was on a Bus when two migrants got on, they stood out a mile, the usual uniform, beards hoodies trainers mobiles ..they sat in front of me, one guy was talking to someone on his phone on video link who looked just the same as him, he then placed the phone on the Window to show his friend what England looked like, while the two were laughing..he didn't give a stuff about what the passengers thought on the Bus..and you could see the passengers were annoyed, we have had enough of this..we are being taken for..erm..Mugs? .. a polite way of saying it

The French government have chartered 2 so called "rescue vessels", which actively transport economic migrants to the UK, thereby assisting the people smugglers.
It's a two-faced policy. Pretending to deter people, but giving them a taxi ride as soon as they are a few miles off the French coast.

And do we want to know how many fishing boats or private yachts are involved in the smuggling? Many fishermen or yacht owners aren't as innocent as they pretend to be.

Just declare that EVERY asylum application from somebody who arrived in the UK illegally is immediately refused and the person locked in a secure location (as a criminal) awaiting deportation after having their fingerprints and DNA recorded.

I can't go to France as I don't have a passport. My choice not having one as I like to holiday in the UK. If I did somehow manage to get to France what would happen. I would be refused entry and sent back home. So why don't we do the same here. Intercept incoming migrants , handcuff them then march them to the next available ferry to France. That ferry trip will save millions of pounds of tax payers money. It's a political hot potato that no political party wants to address. It would only take a few ferry trips back before they get the message that their costly ILLEGAL crossing is pointless. Stayed in Devon this year on holiday. A hotel 200yrds from the beach was housing them. All day they played on the beach , football mainly as all were young males. They smoked , joked and laughed all day and swaggered around as if they owned the place. All had iPhones and high end sports gear plus free bus passes. It was as all their dreams had come true and they seemed to snigger at us as they walked bye. That holiday cost me around £2000 for 2 weeks. They get it all for nothing for breaking UK law. ABSOLUTELY SICKENING.
@@anty66 I'm sure that there is a law that they can be returned to the country they had just departed. And considering that France is the closest country that's very very likely where they departed from. Not many sailing from Spain or Norway.
If I was American with no passport but sailed to France from the UK and was apprehended on arrival I'm pretty sure the rules allow them to send me back to the country I departed from. Someone out there must know the exact ruling. If I'm wrong I'm quite willing to be educated.
