The time to jump in will be when: 1.We will be able to quickly manage and comp all the "punch-ins" in a track like in Logic. 2.When the volume automation recall problem will be fixed. (Sometimes, I open a saved session and the volume of some tracks have changed and the fader position dosent match with the volume number) Otherwise... I still use Logic.
The new autolevel is something I've been wanting for My UAD sys from the beginning. LOVE IT! Makes every session so much quicker and easier. BUT...I seriously cannot wait for the monitor calibration. THAT is putting a 300-1000+ dollar plus software package in YOUR system as a free bonus and is a gamechanger.
The Sonarworks is not a free update You have to purchase the Sonarworks ID speaker or headphones software then purchase the UAD add on for $69 I believe.
@@thegood9 Not sure if I was clear on the pricing. You have to purchase Sound ID at full price $299 (for speakers and headphones correction) and then purchase the UAD add on at $69. It's really no savings.
Hey Steve, excellent video as usual. I noticed you used the master cue fader to adjust to a good level on the cue music. Is it best to use the master cue and not the individual cues for the tracks to adjust the o overall cue mix?
Great question! It’s actually just a fast way to send the whole mix rather than sending individual channels. Send the whole mix and then send a single track if they need “a little more”
It's been a week since I bought volt 4 and the output on the right side of the headphone and speaker Monitoring is a little louder than the left side. Is this normal or is there a problem? When we set the volume to 1 of 10, we can feel it, but not at high volume
@ EXACTLY what i’m talking about! There are many many many genres that NEED feedback! Plus there are mixing techniques that require feedback looping doesn’t matter what genre!
@@UniversalAudio GEN 1 and 2 are X? i have the black thunderbolt and sonaworks...i used to have the audio routed (like for youtube) to a virtual channel. I instaled the new update and virtual are bypased and listen to monitors now...but sound id reference affect the audio... pls explain
@@juanwaissman1 Correct, G1 and G2 refer to Apollo X. MKII black faceplate Apollos aren't supported. But you can continue to use SW with your Apollo using the SW plugin or their native system wide app.
Sonarworks is running with no latency through the Apollo??! That's kinda crazy. I've gotten very used to just not having it until I'm done tracking. This would be very helpful.
😂 Dude. That’s great that you noticed that. These things are fantastic. Genuinely better than the new stuff, imo. Mainly because I can just pop a battery in it. I had to get the new mouse for some reason a while back and never fails, I gotta stop working for a bit while my mouse needs a recharge. Back in the day, I’d just pop some batteries in lol Great comment. Cheers!
I know what my least favourite "feature" is. It's the 30+% price increase. Isn't technology like, you create new things and sell them for the same price because technology develops and that's the natural course of things? That pushes people into buying outdated hardware. The MacBooks for an example, they get better every year but the price stays the same (at least for a few generations). This is so stupid!
Awesome!!
Luna.. my fav Daw so far!
Luna needs a good tuner, it's too frustrating to use for guitar tracking as is.
Let’s go!
Amazing video and good insight, brotha ❤
Cheers tim!
Man I love this stuff!

Does any of this apply in Luna if I have the previous generation Apollo x8p?
Are these features only available on the new interfaces? I have an X4. Thanks.
Same question i have the Apollo solo
We or I need a deep dive live UAD /Luna session on these new features - Ben - Drew - can you make it happen?
These were certainly fun to watch.
Cool video but, still really Miss Ben Lindell at the helm. He put so much hard work in 👍
@ Ben is a legend!
@@TheSteveKinney Is he still with UA?
@@modeloco Ben has moved onto other opportunities, but we stay in touch with him and wish him nothing but the best! He rules!!!
Hey Steve - Are the A/D converters any better than the Apollo Twin mkii or previous Apollo Twin X? Hearing mixed answers everywhere
THIS DAW, SIMPLY WONDERFUL, I DREAM OF HAVING THIS APOLLO X GEN 2, THE UAD DOES EVERYTHING PERFECTLY.

Does auto gain peak change depending on the unison pre or did I understand that wrong? For vocals is there a best peak to shoot for

I need apollo twin x G2 USB! When will it be announced?
Quick question. Which software do you use for screen recording?
I use a combination of Screenflow, OBS, and the built in Mac screen recorder, depending on the situation.
Just let us do feedback with sending returns back into themselves…..
Yessir! I mix Dub music and that is a greatly overlooked analog console element. Thank you.

Hmmm I don't know about this technique so I'll have to try it with Cubase.

i have apollo 8 uad2 black edition (before the X) can i run monitor controll???
No, only Gen 1 and Gen 2 Apollos.

Or just upgrade the SHARCs
Oh that would be impossible due to UA’s dumpster load of aught’ chips…. 🙄😔
uad make a video with how to get free plugin with any plugin purchase
You get Pultec free with purchase. If you own it already, you get a $29 coupon.

There wasn’t a price increase, the gen 1 is being highly discounted, gen 2 is the same price the gen 1 was.
