Story: Lute was born into a trashy poor family. She sought to break free from this cycle by becoming a lawyer. Sadly, just as her career was taking off, her sister killed her out of envy. Upon arriving in Heaven, Lute joined the Exorcist Angels. She wanted vengeance and since her sister’s drug addiction would be catching up to her, that gave her time to become the best warrior ever.
Lute went from not knowing how to hold a sword to becoming the most lethal angel on the team. This, along with her backstory, drew the attention of Abel. Initially, it was the start of a friendship. But they were more alike than they thought. Sharing the same pain, sense of humor, passion for the slaughter led him into seeing Lute as someone he couldn’t resist. When he was young, he admired the relationship his parents had and wanted something like that for himself one day. Meaningless flings never filled that void in his heart but it seemed that he had finally found his own “Eve”.
The feeling was mutual. But Abel had plenty of admirers and one of the ‘rules’ was “don't expect to be his gf, the most you'll get is a fling”. Before Lute, there were no exceptions so when this happened, people definitely felt some type of way about it. Lute was the 2nd in command, you can't disrespect her but the vibe took a downward turn, and the way people started avoiding her made her feel isolated. Abel obviously did his best to stop this behavior but the damage was done, how can you not feel unwelcome now? Strike 1.
She used to scoff at the Redemptionists. They didn't understand the pain and had no place advocating for such a thing. Over time, she became more receptive but tried to suppress it. But those doubts kept popping up as her relationship with Abel evolved. He was more bitter with every Extermination Day that the thought of “is this all really bringing me peace?” plagued her. Was it hypocrisy? Cain murdered Abel but what Abel was doing now was not just murder, it's sanctioned genocide. Doesn't this make him worse than Cain? Lute was always logical and she couldn't reconcile this. She hated her sister yet finds herself in the arms of someone more murderous. Was she biased? Strike 2.
The day came when Lute finally had the chance to exterminate her sister. And when it happened, she felt horrible. What she had built up in her head didn't align with reality. Revenge wasn’t satisfying, it felt empty & her beliefs crumbled. Strike 3. Wiping her sister out along with the chaos of Extermination Day caused a breakdown. When Vaggie was about to strike a sinner child, Lute impulsively tried to stop it. It cost her an arm. It was an accident but the result was Lute leaving. And she broke up with Abel.It devastated him and he never knew the reason why since not once did she explain herself. She was the one that got away & he was left with a broken heart.
Adam found her having another breakdown in an alley and took her under his wing. From that moment on, her views pivoted & she became a Redemptionist. Revenge left her feeling hollow & she wants to spare the others of that feeling. She gets their anger but the crusade wasn't helping her heal, it was prolonging her anguish. After doing so many exterminations and not feeling any better, what was it all for?
Adam doesn’t know & she is scared to tell him why she doesn't want to go with him to the trial that could end Extermination Day that Sera arranged. Plus, Cain would be joining which makes the trial not just a plea to stop Extermination Day, but a retrial of if Cain’s sentence is to be annulled. The truth would badly impact the way Adam views her. He's the father figure she never had, its horrible to think of the disappointment. The idea of seeing Abel again & Adam finding out about her past has her feeling anxious.

I’m not normally one to do OC x canon character but for the sake of the narrative, I had to deal with it. In the OG show, Vaggie was hesitant about returning to Heaven. They’re already in Heaven so I needed to ramp up the stakes by making it more personal. In my previous pinned comments on the other videos, I've implied but wasn't sure if I was going to go through with. If you don't believe me, go back to the pinned comments in the other videos. It's vague, but I thought some would figure it out.

In my Whatever It Takes vid, I had some people that were like “oh the Exorcists are like his daughters”. He has the mental capacity of a 20 year old (his age when he died). Him acting like a playboy frat bro makes some sense. There's a reason the first image of him you guys saw in my OG animatic was the 2 angels all over him. He has gone through like half of the Exorcists, so saying there's this father-child relationship is just…. It's on me for conveying that vibe in the video but that was meant to show his softer, traumatized side. I somewhat regret making that a part of his personality but it's too late to change that now. The reason why it even happened was me ramping up OG Adam’s dickmaster personality and giving that to him.
+Angelic weapons can’t kill an angel the way it can kill a demon. It can maim an angel but said angel can regenerate themselves. Lute chooses to not do that, to keep a missing arm as a reminder to never look back. “But what killed the angel?” You'll get the answer soon. The answer is hidden in plain sight.
+Murder victims are grayscale in color palette. That's the reason why Abel has Lute’s color scheme, not just because I was going for a matching couple.
+In the OG show, Adam gets disturbed by Lute’s enthusiasm to kill and tells her to tone it down. How this scenario would play out here would be Abel egging her on, the both of them bouncing off murder ideas between each other and then idk, maybe it ends in a makeout sesh? Yeah, that was their relationship in a nutshell.
+Lute always wore her uniform when out and about to the point where the average winner couldn't recognize her without the helmet. Even though she was 2nd in command, she kept a low public image which is why Adam has no idea of her past.
+Y'know how I said seeing Abel’s other eye is rare? That's not something he lets other people see. That's a big deal.
+Adam’s heart belongs to Eve (call me a traditionalist but I like grandma and grandpa together). He and Lute have more of a mentor type bond. Aside from loving Eve, the idea of dating his descendants gives him the ick, no matter how many generations pass. Whereas Abel never had kids so he doesn't have any hangups on that.
+Sera knew about this but aside from occasionally urging Lute to come forward to help the cause, her caring side won out and she stopped pushing the issue because she saw how distressed Lute would get when the subject came up. She felt it wasn't her place to say anything.
+The music box at the end was me not wanting almost 20 seconds of silence. And I went crazy with the Procreate brushes. And I had to butcher the description because TH-cam has a character limit. And in hindsight, I maybe should have made the video a little longer so that the captions don’t pass by faster.

How does this AU handle the whole "everyone's a descendant of Adam and Eve" thing? You said Adam sees Lute as a daughter, and the thought of anything romantic with anyone besides Eve gives him icky vibes no matter the generational gap. I'm just curious cause the actual show never seems to elaborate on that, despite the obvious problems with having all of humanity descended from one couple. If you don't have an answer to that, though, that's fine.

I'm really trying to not have incest in this lmao. So far, my idea is for the Elders to have made spouses for the early humans until the population hit a certain point where that wasn't needed anymore. Seth had his bride, Azura, created by Emily while Cain's bride, Awan, was the product of Lucifer trying to recreate Eve's creation as a sick experiment.

An idea. An animatic between Adam and Eve to 'The Dancing and the Dreaming' from how to train your dragon. Stoic and Valka story is a lot like those two

Oh dear,.......I'm getting a bad feeling that Lute's dark secret is about to come into the light in court.
How do you even do this. Imagine creating a smart,subversive and creative retelling of a already smart subversive and reactive show, and a long the way, using new concepts from biblical tales to expertly incorporate them into your story. And if that wasn’t impossible enough imagine doing that in a couple of 3 minute animations with background music to convey this all on, as well as the masterful editing and te writing in the description in every video is so engaging and a treat t read. Only a true storyteller could pull off such feat, and specially here on TH-cam this content is one in a million. This is so much more interesting and thought out that the shit Netflix pulls out on the regular, and even though it probably wont happen I wish this got he funding to become a full on animated series. Congratulations to everyone involved as you have truly created something outstanding 🎉
When adam is back in heaven it would be fitting to give him. 2 minutes notice instead of you didn't know. He would be just about done with their hypocrisy and bloodlust.
That would be interesting to see but I feel like that song would fit better with Cain and the Morningstars. As a way of making it clear to them that he won’t let them influence his decisions ever again.

Honestly I like this ship way better then Adam x Lute. I know it fit better into this Au and that why it works so well. But deep down, I believe Adam's heart always belong to Eve. It cute to see Cain pair with someone because as far as I know he didn't have a significant other and Lute is a good fit for this au of Cain.

So Lute left Abel without telling him anything and Vaggie didn’t say anything about what happened. Is she not telling out of fear/guilt or out of jealousy for Lute’s relationship
Everyone knew what happened was an accident. The arm thing was never covered up and Vaggie felt bad. But it was the straw that broke the camel's back as Lute never voiced her increasing doubts about Extermination Day. She used the incident as a way out. The original description was more detailed but sadly, I had to remove a lot because of the word limit.
So, "You Didn't Know" Is next then. Looking forward to it.

I'm excited for the next animatic!! I feel really bad for Abel, and I'm lowkey hoping Lute and Abel can in a sense make up and get back together, cause I am loving their relationship, even though this is all we've seen of them.

Is Limbo the place where the “Hazbin Hotel” is in this AU? Will you explain it more and will we get to explore it more in the future?
Sharp eye. Yep, Limbo is at the edge of Hell and it's where Lute was coming back from in the last video. It's a secret project where they're trying to redeem sinners but they have to smuggle them to and from Limbo to keep the illusion that nothing is going on. Both Heaven and Lucifer can't find out because not only is this project unauthroized, Lucifer does not want his hellish kingdom to have it's population reduced.
But doesn’t Lucifer’s population already get reduced due to extermination day
It's different in the sense that he would see it as losing to Heaven and Adam once more. It's one thing for a soul to meet a tortured end, it's another for them to get a happily ever after and to escape your evil clutches. You spent all that time tempting them and then that work gets undone. And Lucifer thinks 'well, at least Adam is hurting that his descendants are getting killed so I'm somewhat fine with this case specifically'. I'm still working on how the Morningstars deal with Extermination Day is general.
Question that Lucifer and Lilith relationship okay or no and do they treat Charlie well or only Cain well @@saffiro
@@chainfriskdreemur8411 It’s not because I think Lucifer views her as a trophy wife and Lilith is aware the choice isn’t the greatest but is too prideful to admit. And let’s just say at least Lilith wanted a boy which is why she views Cain as her son she never had (Cain is Adam and Eve’s son to be clear). But Cain is not treated well so he escapes.

Imagine this scenario from Abel's perspective: you thought you were going to marry your girlfriend but then she ghosted you. And then, after a while, she shows back up in your life but it turns out she's now dating your dad. The amount of psychic damage that would cause lmao. The answer is no, Lute only sees Adam as a mentor.

Nope. Adam and Lute aren’t canonically a couple. They are friends and coworkers. Though you can imagine them as more. I’m happy Adam has Eve in this AU.
