Are you suggesting having top rope from the ground to the top? We used to do this but the newbies began to rely on it and lost confidence when it wasn't there. People should always take their lifeline of course.
So are you saying have the lifeline on all the time? If this is your suggestion it is not standard practice in these parts. Might be a good idea but likely to get in the way and hinder upward progress.

Nice...however why are you not teaching them to tie lifeline around along with there lanyards especially new cats?
