I love watching your lives, they are some of the best Sorcery content, and I just got a bit too excited to actually be able to watch live and give my thoughts.

My take on Elementalist is that she is very weak. Threshold in Sorcery is not like the MTG equivalent. It is very easy to play 2-3 colors and even add non-threshold lands for extra power. The bonus power you get from other Avatars makes Elementalist feel like it just reads "Tap: Draw or play a site."
I mean, the other take is: you can get 2-3 threshold faster? What leverages that best though, sans the appropriate mana for some bombs? Yeah… I like the effect, but I’m not sure any strategy favors it over any other Avatars atm.
I hope I’m wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that a player could play a site in front of Edge of the World and shut off its ability? But that seems really stupid because it would make it just an overall worse generic site… Love this content, btw! Looking forward to more!
Grapple shot will drag a unit passed a burrowed root spider as the movement is forced. You couldn’t begin a grapple shot while over the root spider, but forcing it to move through it is different.
That makes sense to me 🤔 Drew had a different interpretation, but I trust it logics… Is there a precise faq you could point to (nothing for it on Curiosa when ai checked)?
@@LocalGameGroup the path for grapple shot goes on the timeline and you will the resolve each forced movement step by step. Just like how you could blink a minion off of a root spider, the forced movement on the timeline for grapple shot will yoink the pudge butcher off of the spider in the middle of its path. If you instead played blaze or something that allows the unit to move as normal (assuming non pudge), the spider would disable them as usual. This is briefly described in the comprehensive rules guide under rules clarification for Disabled and the section for Forced Movement.
I conceptualise the Elementalist Avatar quite differently to you guys. Rather than it being a way to 'not bother about the threshold on your lands'. I see it as a way to hit higher threshold values more consistently for 2/3 elements. Plus the benefit of splashing 1 threshold cards of the other 1/2 elements. I.e. your Avatars actual benefit is enabling a higher overall power level of cards in your spellbook.
I like this idea. There’s more than one way to skin an Ele-… Build an Elementalist, that’s for sure. I’d be interested to take another crack, but not for a good while 🥲

What does it mean when the card reads "genesis" is it at the start of a turn...?
No, it's like "enter the battlefield" in MTG. It happens when it resolves. 👌
