      Listen,there has never been an artist in Country Music that could win over the youth ..ETC was stamped on the desk at my high school.These kids who listened to rock ,pop and dance,they actually got into ETC..Maybe Hank Jr would be another CM artist who could win over the youth..ETC was cool and his music was even cooler..This guy was black balled by CM,because he was too progressive for their liking ..Wow,was ETC not ahead of the curve or what!

    The kids today will never understand or appreciate the way the world was then. People cared about their neighbors, weren't buried in their phones, were loyal, and didn't show love just for the sake of one upping someone else on social media.

    • @BS-dq1kz

      I was born in 81’ and I had a dysfunctional home life but it was still a great childhood! Stayed outside from morning til night. Played “Kick the Bottle” and drank from the water hose. Laid in the grass with the dogs and made mud pies. Rode our bikes all day long. Ate good food too at grandmas! We respected our elders and loved one another. We were also much more active back then! I feel sorry for my children because the internet is their everything. It’s my own fault but I had no clue what damage it could do when I handed them PlayStations and iPhones. I was the last person in our immediate family of five to get a smart phone or Facebook. When I did, my friends said, “Welcome to the 21st Century”. I used to spend a lot more time with my husband and children before I had an iPhone.
      I wish I had never picked up one of these dang things and I wish just as much I could’ve seen what effect technology would have on my kids.
      Do you have kids? What does a parent do when they’ve allowed their kids to have phones and social media so young but 10-13-19 years later they see the negative impact? I feel like I can’t take their stuff away now but I REALLY need to! I feel like it could cause more harm than good at this point to take their electronics. My older two kids understand my concerns and my 13 yr old would respectfully accept my decision to not let her have smartphones or social media. She’s a great child. But my 10 year old would act like a lunatic I am certain! 😩🤦🏻‍♀️ I recently set time limits on the phones but I cave in on days I don’t feel well or when I’m busy, which is often.
      I recently watched “Social Dilemma” and it made me even more eager to make some changes. I want my kids to be outside!
      You’re so right. Kids will never know what life was like back then. Did you know the suicide rate for junior high kids has increased 185% since the internet? I find that heartbreaking.

      @@angelabise1333 I was born in 1951. I had a very abusive childhood. It’s over. I try my best to get rid of my pain. I have been working on myself since I learned about psychology. I sank into it like ducks on water. It saved my life. My 2 younger sister and brother committed suicide. That is how bad it was. My sister 1 year older than me with me also think about ending our life but we don’t have the guts. We have severe pain from arthritis pain, fibromyalgia, chronic pain. Yet we talk about our childhood and find the funny stuff we did. No indoor bathroom. We see how the world has changed since we were kids. It’s mind blowing. Kids now days don’t have that good old childhood we had. I agree 100%. My granddaughter is soon to be 12 and my son and daughter in law try to get her outside on her bike, roller blades, trampoline, they have her in tennis, gymnastics, karate, she’s a fish in water even starting to mow grass with an easy push mower. They try to keep it limited with all the phones and technology. She’s an ‘A’ student. Friends galore. She has parents that care so much about her and family and friends around her. They live in a city. I grew up on the farm and so did my kids. You just never get bored. Always something to do, work or play. Climbing trees. A treehouse. It was limitless. And good home made balanced meals. Those days are gone forever. But I know I grew up in the best years of music ever! Music is my savior on my dark days. But singing with it makes me feel even better if not the best!!! Hang in there guys! Don’t lose sight of good morals and values. And good common sense. It will get you so much further in this life. Teach your children that! Thanks for sharing!
      And God I have to say my world of music is vast!

      @crystalbarron9022 does he show you that he loves you in other ways? I would rather he buy me something I want or need rather than on expensive flowers that will die in a few days...! He bought me lilac bushes for my yard! That's enough for me! Instead he buys me cherries when they're in season, clothes that I want, he cooks for me because I can't anymore. There's all the little things that he does or says that mean so much to me. He knows never to hit me(again) because of repercussions! We've learned respect for each other! I hope you get this from your spouse! Much luck to you & prayers! ❤

Things improved and we had many good years. During his last years, every night, when I put him to bed, he went to sleep listening to "I Want to Stroll Over Heaven With You " by Alan Jackson, on replay. I think this song means . Most of the time , she is correct and I am incorrect . I refuse to give in , she goes along always by my side while sitting home alone . I will never understand what makes her stay when anyone else would have left long ago . However , occasionally , I would do something right , making her happy . I have the ability to make her laugh make her cry , even though she sometimes despises the way she loves me . She craves affection and longs for lover's touch , only feeling loved when we are . I will question why she loves me so deeply , knowing that no matter what I do , it may never be enough . Once in awhile , I get it right and make her feel incredible , but those moments are rare . This song conveys the rarity of finding someone who gives you countless chances and loves you so much , truly making it special when you succeed in making them happy . Once In A Blue Moon

      You two sound a lot like my parents. They're both in their upper 80s now and been married for 67 years. My dad put her through hell in the early years. She dealt with so much more than anyone should ever have to. Nine children, many corrections, and many years later, they act like 2 teenagers in love. Fortunately, he has spent the last 40 years doing all he could to make it up to her. That kind of commitment is so very rare these days. Your wife sounds like that caliber of a woman. RARE in todays world. God bless you both and good luck.

    why can't the country artist of today, find inspiration from artist like this.

    • @johnpastirchak1053
      @johnpastirchak1053 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In today's heavy handed recording industry, "inspiration" isn't the option it once was. Unlike the "outlaw" days when rebels like Roger Miller, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Tompall Glaser and David Allen Coe would stand up to the "suits of Nashville," today's performers no longer enjoy such leverage. They play what they're told to play, in some cases even at live concerts.
      One explanation for such artistic servitude-- their own talent agents have a nasty habit of climbing in the sack with the industry's corporate executives, engaging in quid-pro-quo arrangements of benefit to everyone except the baby-faced singer. Artists like Charlie and Bruce Robison Brothers, Nancy Griffith and other great South Texas talents all seem to flourish independently, but "independence" comes at a price. Not that it matters to me; I could listen to them all day on TH-cam. But none of them ever seem to ascend to the status of household names as "performers." An exception would be Ms. Griffith, but only as a composer. Her collaborations on "From A Distance" and "Love At The Five & Dime" helped to put her on the map as a song writer. Otherwise their notoriety is pretty much limited to a regional market, a not so appetizing prospect for today's starry eyed up and comers who would rather sell their souls for super-stardom.
