Great video- I purchased the TTS660 when it first came out and have loved the bike. I primarily ride out in the country on twisty hilly roads and the bike is so easy to maneuver and is just fun to ride. However, I have started some light touring and the TTS660 is not always fully planted on a big open highway. I am also having some fatigue on longer trips that I am thinking may be reduced with a larger bike. So I have been considering a Tiger 900 GT Pro or a Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ (only version we can now buy new in the US new). Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Hi James. I remember doing a couple of interstate trips in the US, and I think that it is not the best place for a Tiger 660. Unlike the Europe, your roads are much bigger and traffic is more intense. I am still trying the new Tiger 900, which is a step up from the current generation in terms of comfort. And I really like the current Tigers. But that is my personal opinion. Highway vibes might still be an issue. On the contrary, Yamaha's triple and chassis are unbeatable at any speed. Electronics on current Tracers are one of the best on the market, and we expect GT+ to bring riding comfort to another level (linked brakes, adaptive suspension, radar, and new software). Those features are on the safety side, which is nice. If you can, test-ride both bikes, and see which one feels "at home". If you are moving from Tiger 660, you'll most probably like Tracer, but that is only my guess :)
P.S. Keep in mind that Tiger 900 triple is different from 660. 900 lineup uses T-plane crank, and 660 is not.

Great video once again!! Im still on the market for a new bike.
Would you say Tracer 9 is a really dumb idea for a beginner rider (previous experience: 1000km on a bandit 650s, and 1500km on a XR150)? Im 187cm and 100kg.
Both these bikes are on my shortlist and while the TS660 or even Tracer 7 makes more sense, because im buying new and would want to keep the bike for 5+ years I was thinking whether the Tracer 9 is better value in the long run...It costs €3k more than the TS660 (my top pick atm)

Depends on how much you can control yourself. Tracer 9 is a capable bike, but also very friendly and has plenty of safety features. As for Tiger 660 I doubt you’ll keep it for 5 years.

I'm really struggling between these two bikes. Triumph Tiger Sport 660 with panniers and all the details that comes with GT+ as a stock is 30% difference in price. On other hand for that 30% more you get at least 50% better motorcycle with Yamaha. Do you think the same? I mean 6 sensor IMU, radar crusie control, more power, better tft, better suspension etc for 30% more money. Would you recommend me go for Tracer 9 since you also moved from Tiger to Tracer :D

Depends on what you expect from the motorcycle. Tracer 9 overall is more "serious" bike, as you definitely can crunch the miles on that bike, plus it will have all the latest tech. It is also bigger if you need to travel two up and it can carry more weight. But, if you mostly commuting you don't need all of that, tiger will do the job, and it also comfy on shorter distances.

@@SergeyVikultsev Make sense. I expect it to be good enough for everyday riding and good for longer trips as well. I can see potential issue with Tiger Sport 660 when I do longer trips but on the other hand I see it as a better commuter bike due to smaller size. :D it's tough :D

@@raqacs Don't discount Tiger for it's size. If you are a shorter rider this is very capable bike. I saw people doing 5-6k trips on those bike. Actually Tiger 660 is one of my favourite bikes overall, I think this is a great package for the money you pay.

@@SergeyVikultsev I think it's fits me regarding the size. I am 181 but also 115kg. I like it's nimble and easy to ride everyday. But I am just thinking now since when you add panniers and stuff to Tiger it costs around regular version of Tracer 9 which comes with adjustable suspension and more power but do I need more power than Triumph has to offer? Maybe on the Highway, not sure otherwise.

@raqacs you probably don’t need more power than triumph can offer. It is punchy engine, very capable. You’d need to rev it a bit, and also side wind maybe an issue, but again, just take the bike based on what you need from it.

You can never go wrong with this bike

Completely wrong. 81 hp vs 120. What’s the difference in the price and equipment? For me chan driven bike without center stand is not go. Period. More appropriate comparison would be Tiger 850 or 900 to Yamaha 900 and Tiger 660 more in the class of V Strom 650 or Versys 650. V Strom 800 RE eventually.
