Great to see a channel testing these watches in the field. That’s definitely an unexplored niche!

Thank you. I've got a couple other fun ideas for this one for a future video. Take care :)

I’ve been watching watch videos for years, but Wow, you always bring a unique take, on the review. Good on yer. Watches, drones, fish, rafts, aeroplanes. What’s not to like? You should be a Canadian ambassador. I was fortunate enough to win an Avi8 watch off you some time ago. Still grateful, and still love it.

Hey there Raymond thanks a lot! I love getting out for videos like this. They're lots of fun to put together.
Funny you mention the Avi-8. I actually have an Avi-8 and G-shock coming up as giveaways soon. Maybe two times a charm. Glad you're still enjoying yours :)

Evaluation for Casio protrek PRT-B70. Is not a good watch. It supposed to record the catches you made in your fishing day, with exactly location. But this need to be permformed while the app is open in your phone. So what is the point to buy this if I need to use the phone to record de locations. I believe will download an app to do that will be more simple. Casio Engineers should Improve this.

This Pro Trek Is a lot more involved than its baby brother some very cool features & it looks great too. Beautiful location on that lake 👍

Nice to see you out Bob (although you just took your... floor on a lake! 🤪). Great watch btw, tad overcomplicated and big for sure so not my thing. Thanks anyways mate. Be well.

How accurate did the altimeter end up being? I have checked your channel for the follow up but had no luck. I am climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in a week and half and wanted a watch to measure altitude throughout the climb. This watch looked like a nice option but it would all come down to whether the altimeter is just balls or not. Thank you for the great review and hopefully for a timely response from someone! Legends, love yas!

I hadn't put together a follow up video but I did test it and it seemed to be quite accurate. I live in Toronto and actually took it up the CN Tower and it was within a couple meters. Good luck with the climb. That's going to be amazing!

Thanks in two vids.....so in typical fellow Canadian fashion. Thanks!😅
Yeah, I agree with you...I read the fish timer just works on the moon and tide phases (after I got the watch). That's ok but without counting for temperature and especially what the barometer is doing I don't know how much utility the fishing timer is other than telling you good times to try to fish. Tide and moon are probably more of a factor on the ocean or saltwater than freshwater lakes I'm starting to think.
Still, I can see the alarm giving you an excuse to get off your ass to fish and get away from the fire or the hammock.😅
I really want to try out the GPS cookie crumb mode though. When used with your phone that sounds like a cool idea.
Also, FYI if you didn't know this when traveling with an ABC watch I highly recommend adjusting the barometer at the location where you are going to use it if you can. The sensor can get out of wack especially after air travel in a pressurized jet. I wouldn't adjust the altimeter too much unless you are at a known point of elevation but that can get a little wonky too when traveling in a pressurized cabin from what I hear.
And I agree to. This watch screams the need for solar. I would defiantly pay extra if it had it. I don't see the need for atomic timekeeping to be added to the watch either since if your phone's time is adjusted by your carrier or in my case an atomic app it will get readjusted to complete accuracy by the phone every time it connects.

Yep even if it doesn't fully work for lake fishing any excuse is good enough for me to get out for a couple casts. I'll be definitely trying more of the GPS functions soon.
I really like watches like these just because there's so much to learn and experiment with. I have a couple pretty fun ideas to test the altitude function in an upcoming video. One involves the drone the other the CN Tower so we'll see how that goes. Thanks man 😁👍

@@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces I know what you mean. Casio ABC and/or Bluetooth watches are allot of fun but manage not to feel like a disposable piece of tech that (IMO) smart watches are. My brother i an RCMP officer in Whitehore and he keeps buying new smart watches every 2 years. I get why he has on but to him its just disposable tech and I don't see watches that way. I'd love to give him my dual time Edifice Bluetooth watch (cause he's flying into Regina like 5-8 times a year for training and whatnot) but he won't give up the smart watch. 😅 Note I don't dislike smart watches but I'm so done with buying anything I feel like I have to replace every 2-4 years. I hate E-waste and after seeing how it gets recycled I try to repair and reuse what I have for as long as I can now.
On another note this has defiantly encouraged me to save up for a Protrek titanium watch. I was thinking a PRW-70YT-7JF from some place like Sakura watches. Its not Bluetooth but short of the PRT-B70 its the most full featured ultimate Protrek I've found and I got to try it out. Sucks to have to buy a jdm watch cause IF I have to get warranty work done I need to remember to say it was a "gift" or good luck getting service sometimes from Casio.😅
Anyway I think I've found my watch niche in interesting Gshocks and protreks. The new and smaller climber watches are defiantly something I'd like to get into if they ever bring them over here and I could maybe find some sales like I did on this watch and my PRW6600Y-1A9. Got that for a steal on amazon like the PRT-B70.
I put a piece of gorilla glass over the mineral crystal on the 6600 and its been my usual everyday wear for over 8 months now...although I just got the factory bracelet for my reasonably affordable Momentum Fieldwalker and damn I should have got it that way from the start. My mid range affordable Seiko Autos on bracelets got nothing on that watch...if you got big wrists like me or don't find 44mm to big.😂
