I have never flown into Guadalajara, but hopefully this trip I will make it happen... because I really want to spend some time at Chapala and some quaint villages outside the Chapala area. :) Thank you for the terrific video! You did a phenomenal job sweeping views of everything!!
Thanks for your comment. This was our first experience flying out of and into GDL so I didn’t have any other reference for time. We were there at 5am on a Monday morning. -Marc
Just a quick note: Paulette's Pastry store is TOTALLY French! Loved seeing the French cookies... Better than the one I ogled over in Paris and probably less expensive! :)
It is amazing to me how big Guadalajara airport has gotten. If i fly into Mexico from Los Angeles I am almost guaranteed to stop over in Guadalajara. If my layover is longer than four hours I have been known to do a speed run out to Tlaquepaque😂
The international arrival situation at GDL is incredibly frustrating. I recently arrived on a Volaris flight from Seattle at 4 am. Three other international flights arrive at the same time. This meant that there were around 800 cranky/sleepy people waiting for fewer than 10 INM agents (immigration) to take 30 seconds to put a stamp in my passport. Took almost two hours. Meanwhile, your checked bags have been unloaded and randomly scattered around the carousels. Only because I had an Apple AirTag in my bag was I able to locate it. Then had to join the equally long lines for Customs inspection (red light/green light). What a total mess! Unacceptable for a major airport of that size. Shame on Mexico.
Thanks Paulette and Marc; Was curious why you didn't show going to the very small (behind a pillar basically) INM Office where you have to check in with before leaving Mexico to go to the USA? Haven't been at that Airport for about two years. Do the individual airlines now take care of that process like they do in Puerto Vallarta where it is not necessary to stop at INM before leaving the Country (Mexico) to have an Exit Stamp placed in your passport? Thanks
Hi Tom, when we downloaded the tickets got our boarding passes online we had to scan our RP cards in the app. We did not have to present them to anyone when we flew out. In the five years we've been in Mexico this is the first time we've flown out of the country. -Marc
@@TheTwoTravelersInMexico Wow thanks Marc: Things have changed! I remember you guys drove up to the States to sell the car, but didn't realize this was the first time flying out in five years. Hope to meet You and Paulette at the TH-cam Meetup that is taking place in SMA on January 25 2025, I believe Ernie and GringosRus and putting it together.... Happy travels

Awe thank you so much for your kind comment Diana. -Marc
I live in GDL and I've never seen such long lines at International arrivals, but I've never arrived at night. I think the longest was 10-15 minutes.

The terminal is so much better because they were renovating the airport and also the baggage claim I think is now renovated too?
The airport was nice. We didn’t check any bags so we didn’t have to go into that area. Thank you for watching and commenting. -Marc
@ ahh okay

While Paulette is not French it is a French name. The pastries looked amazing and probably tasted amazing. -Marc
@@TheTwoTravelersInMexico those French Macarons looked exactly like the ones in France :)

@tomm9540 , if we can work it out with regard to getting someone to take care of our dogs we'll be there. Hope to see you there. -Marc
Seeing the lines, all I can say is Yikes!
The lines where quite long. Thank you for watching and comenting. -Marc
@ What time of day was it?
@@Gringisimo1 5 am.
I always wonder if these high-end stores make money. I find it stupid to buy there, even you had the money to burn.😂😂😂
It seems like they’re there for people who realize they forgot to buy a gift for someone they're going to visit. -Marc
