I couldn't agree with you more. This march is a showpiece for euphoniums or tenorhorns, and -- with only three euphoniums! -- Km. Pircher and his musicians highlight the wonderful singing countermelody on the repeat of the first theme. And in the trio, the euphoniums truly soar on the first presentation, and then in the repeat, when the flutes and clarinets take up the theme itself, the euphoniums complement them with that achingly beautiful countermelody, to be joined by the trombones in the final strain. One has only to compare this performance with others on TH-cam to appreciate what Herr Pircher and his euphonists accomplish here.
