I'm also a believer in adding more nutritious foods that may be less common in your diet, (beans and lentils, quinoa) to your diet as well as your storage. Those items are still affordable and I think it's wise to develop a taste for them. They are a good source of protein, which is harder to come by when grocery store shelves are bare.

Happily, most people disagree. I doctor cake mixes into all sorts of delicious desserts. Add pumpkin and a cream cheese frosting… yummy.
