  • In this video, I show how to fix the rheostat/dimmer on the Z3M roadster or a coupe. It's a simple procedure and will save you some money.

Thank you! Most videos skip steps which are usually the tiny details that I needed. (I just ff through the black screen section lol) I'll attempt a disassemble today. Thanks again.

I was pleased to see the inside of the switch as mine is faulty, now I know what to expect.

Hi, having the switch on a surface closer to the camera would be a big improvement, there is a black period between 4.30 to 6.30, this will always be a problem to solder, which you demonstrated.

I appreciate the feedback! I'm still a newbie when it comes to working the camera and editing, but I'll do my best to improve.

@@CarGuy1 A winning attitude, sorry, I know you put a lot into making it so it's personal.
I look at many car videos, Z3 is a favourite, Iv had a '98 2.8 for 13 years and done little to it bar services, so now I'm doing things to bring it back to original, sort out the intermittent dash light switch, all the little bulbs that are out, rear discs, pads all round, new brake fluid, nipples and possibly hoses. I'v done new front calipers and discs, poly front suspension bushes and looking at poly rears after the brakes.
I thought about making video, I came to the conclusion that what I would say would have to flow naturally, the camera has to be your friend your talking to, but I dont naturally string sentences together that well or think fast enough I guess, to talk on, at length, about something without drying up. What about writing a list of items to cover, and discussion points for each item, kept in view this could help keep everything steadily moving along. I can't see me doing that but you have enthusiasm to.

@kimblewt thank you for great suggestions! I think adding a list will help organizing my thoughts and the video as a whole. Regarding your project - it's pretty much the same thing I'm doing.

Skip the first 5 or 6 minutes, waste of time, what we're trying to look at takes up a tiny bit of screen, then a black screen for a few minutes..... Then we finally get some close up footage that could be useful. I almost bailed out on this vid because of the 1st half!!

Presentation, video quality or the fix itself?
